SET UP INSTRUCTIONS STEP BY STEP
STEP 1:
• Ensure that the transmitter is within 10 feet of the
W ireless Thermometer.
• Remove batt ery cover from TX19 transmi t ter.
• Insert 2 n ew AAA batteries (not included) into the
transmitte r. O bse rv e the correct polarity.
STEP 2:
• Remove battery cover from the Wireless
Thermometer (follow the arrow on the bottom of the bat tery
cover).
• Insert 2 n ew AAA batteries (not inc l uded) int o
the back of the Wireless T hermometer.
Observe th e correct polari ty (see marking
ins ide th e batt ery compartment).
• Within 3 minutes, the Wireless Thermometer
will show readings in the outdoor temperature
ar ea on th e wireless thermomet er.
Note: Allow the W ireless Thermomet er and
the transmitter to stay wit hi n 10 feet of each
other for the first 15 minut es of set up.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
• If the Wireless Thermometer does not display the outdoor
temperature after 3 mi nutes, remove the batteries f rom both units
and repeat th e setup proces s.
• From normal display, hold the UP A RROW but t on for 3 s econds
to search for t he outdoor tem perature transmitter.
• For optimal 433M Hz signal rec eption, the outdoor transmitter
should be placed within 10 0 feet (30 meters ) from the indoor
W ireless Thermometer.
The outdoor t emperature r eception icon will flash:
• Duri ng i ni tial setup, for up to three minutes, until it
connects with the transmitter.
• Ab out every mi nute afterwards as the w ireless
thermometer receives an update.
• When the UP ARROW button is held f or 3 s econds to begi n a
search for the transmitter.
SET TIME
In Time mode, hold the TIME button for 3 s ec onds to s et the time.
• HOUR: The Hour wil l flash. P ress an d relea se the ARR OW
buttons to select the co rrect hour. P res s an d relea se the TIM E
button onc e t o m ove to the minutes.
• MINUTES: The Minutes will flash. Press and release the
ARROW bu ttons to select t he correc t m inutes. P ress and release
the TIME button once more to exit the program menu.
SELECT THE TIME AND TEMPERATURE FORMAT
The Thermometer either defaults to °C w i t h 24 hr. tim e or °F wi th 12
hr. tim e. Both s et up instruct i ons are below:
CELSIUS DEFAULT

LOW BATTERY ICON
The low battery icon wil l show above the out door
temperature when it is time to change batteries.
MAXIMUM/MINIMUM TEMPERATURE READINGS
VIEW: Press and releas e the MIN/MAX button
once t o sh ow the maximum tem perature
records. Press and rel eas e the MIN/MAX button
ag ain to view the mi nimum temperatures. Press
and releas e the MIN/MAX button a third time to
retur n to cur rent t emperature.
RESET: Hold the MAX/MIN k ey f or 2 seconds
to manually cle ar all t he MIN/MA X records.
ALARM SET
From Time m ode, pr ess and release the ALARM button to switc h t o
Al arm Mode. Th e l etters “AL” wil l appear between the hours and the
minutes. In A larm Mode hold t he ALARM but t on for 3 seconds to
enter alarm set mode.

relea se the U P AR ROW b utton to dea ctivate t he alarm. The bell icon
disappears.

POSITIONING THE TEMPERATURE TRANSM ITTER
The remote temperature transmitter should be mounted verticall y to
avoid damage. P lace b oth uni ts in the desired sh aded locati ons, and
wait approximately 1 hour befor e permanently mounting th e
transmitter to ensure th at there is proper reception. T he outdoor
temperature tran smitter is water resistant, not waterpr oof and should
not be placed an ywhere it will become submer ged in water or
subject to stan ding w ater or snow.
• Choose a location for the transmitter that is within range of th e
W ireless Thermometer and under an overh ang f or accuracy.
• Secure the bracket onto a desi red wall u sing the
screws and plastic anchors (not incl uded).
• C lip the tempe ratur e transmi tter on to the b racket.
Note: th e rai sed porti on of the mounting bracket
should fit into the slot on the back of the outdoor
transmitter f or a secure mount.
To achieve a tru e temp erature r eading, mount wher e
direct sunli ght cannot reac h t he outdoor transmitt er.
Mount the outdoor tran smi tt er on a North-f acin g w all or
in any well-sh ad ed area. Und er an eave or deck rail
work well. T he maximum transmitting range in open air
is 100 feet (30 meters). Obstacles such as walls,
wind ows, stucco, concrete, and la rge metal objects can
reduce the r ange. P lace the transm itter at l east 6 feet
in the air t o improve signal transmission.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
• Do Not Mix Old and New Batteries
• Do Not Mix Alkaline, Standard, Lithium or Rechargeable Batteries
• Do not expose the Wireless Thermometer to extreme temperatures,
moisture, vibration or shock.
• Clean the Wireless Thermometer with a soft damp cloth. Do not use
solvents or scouring agents.
• This is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children.
• The Wireless Thermometer: is not to be used for medical purpose or for
public information. It is for home use only.
• The specifications of this product may change without prior notice.
• Improper use or unauthorized opening of housing will void the warranty.
• If the unit does not work properly, change the batteries.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
La Crosse Technology, Ltd provides a 1-year limited warranty on this
product against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
This limited warranty begins on the original date of purchase, is valid only
on products purchased and used in North America and only to the
original purchaser of this product. To receive warranty service, the
purchaser must contact La Crosse Technology, Ltd for problem
determination and service procedures. Warranty service can only be
performed by a La Crosse Technology, Ltd authorized service center.
The original dated bill of sale must be presented upon request as proof of
purchase to La Crosse Technology, Ltd or La Crosse Technology, Ltd’s
authorized service center.
La Crosse Technology, Ltd will repair or replace this product, at our
option and at no charge as stipulated herein, with new or reconditioned
parts or products if found to be defective during the limited warranty
period specified above. All replaced parts and products become the
property of La Crosse Technology, Ltd and must be returned to La
Crosse Technology, Ltd. Replacement parts and products assume the
remaining original warranty, or ninety (90) days, whichever is longer. La
Crosse Technology, Ltd will pay all expenses for labor and materials for
all repairs covered by this warranty. If necessary repairs are not covered
by this warranty, or if a product is examined which is not in need or
repair, you will be charged for the repairs or examination. The owner
must pay any shipping charges incurred in getting the La Crosse
Technology, Ltd product to a La Crosse Technology, Ltd authorized
service center. La Crosse Technology, Ltd will pay ground return
shipping charges to the owner of the product to a USA address only.
The La Crosse Technology, Ltd warranty covers all defects in material
and workmanship with the following specified exceptions: (1) damage
caused by accident, unreasonable use or neglect (including the lack of
reasonable and necessary maintenance); (2) damage occurring during
shipment (claims must be presented to the carrier); (3) damage to, or
deterioration of, any accessory or decorative surface; (4) damage
resulting from failure to follow instructions contained in the owner’s
manual; (5) damage resulting from the performance of repairs or
alterations by someone other than an authorized La Crosse Technology,
Ltd authorized service center; (6) units used for other than home use (7)
applications and uses that this product was not intended or (8) the
products inability to receive a signal due to any source of interference..
This warranty covers only actual defects within the product itself, and
does not cover the cost of installation or removal from a fixed installation,
normal set-up or adjustments, claims based on misrepresentation by the
seller or performance variations resulting from installation-related
circumstances.
