PLEASE READ these Installation Instructions carefully,
and save them for future reference, as they contain important installation and maintenance information.
Important
MUST BE INSTALLED with JKS decal facing you (away
from vehicle), and 1/2” x 2-1/4” Bolt (C) parallel to axle.
INSTALLATION OF SHOCK CONVERSION effectively
reduces static length of shock absorber by 1.10”.

Installation
1. REMOVE SHOCK ABSORBERS
Remove the front wheels to provide unrestricted
access to shock absorbers.
Remove front “stem” type shock absorbers per
factory service manual instructions for vehicle.
2. INSTALL SHOCK CONVERSION ONTO
SHOCK ABSORBER
Insert bushing sleeve into upper bushing of shock
absorber. The proper sleeve size is 1/2” ID x 5/8”
OD x 1.31” long. HINT: If bushing sleeves were not
provided with shock absorbers, or if size is incorrect, it may be necessary to order Rancho© PN
52677 or equivalent from any suspension parts
supplier.

Slide top end of shock absorber into Shock Con-
version (A) until mounting holes align.
Insert 1/2” x 2-1/4” Bolt (C) and thread into welded
nut.
Secure Shock Conversion (A) in a vice and
tighten the 1/2” Bolt (C) to 60 ft-lbs. using a torque
wrench.
While still secured in the vice, completely thread
the M20 Nylock Nut (B) onto threaded stud and
remove. HINT: This cuts a groove in the Nylock
material, making nal installation easier.
3. RE-INSTALL SHOCK ABSORBERS
Insert threaded stud of Shock Conversion (A)
through original shock mounting hole in upper
fender well of vehicle.
IMPORTANT: Shock Conversion must be positioned
with the JKS decal facing you (away from vehicle).
Install the M20 Nylock Nut (B) onto threaded stud
of Shock Conversion (A) from above the shock
mounting bracket. HINT: Shock may be used as
a lever to hold Shock Conversion in position while
installing Nylock Nut.
Tighten the M20 Nylock Nut (B) to 80 ft-lbs.
Install shock absorber to lower mount per factory
service manual instructions.
