Dymo GuestGuard User Manual

Thank you for choosing DYMO GuestGuard as your visitor management solution. With GuestGuard, you can quickly and easily create badges for and track your visitors.

What You Will Need

GuestGuard requires the following items be previously installed on your system:
DYMO LabelWriter 330 Turbo label printer
DYMO Name Badge Labels (11356) or Shipping labels (99014)
Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP Operating System
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later
ActiveX controls enabled
Pop-up blockers disabled
When your registration was completed, you received an email from DYMO Corporation containing the GuestGuard login information for your initial user account.
Getting Started
with GuestGuard
To get started with GuestGuard, you will need:
The GuestGuard URL assigned to your company
Initial User ID
Initial User Password
You also received several GuestGuard Badge template files: Visitor.lwl, Supplier.lwl, Contractor.lwl, and Subcontractor.lwl.
To use the GuestGuard templates
1 Create a folder structure on your hard drive as follows: C:\GuestGuard
2 Copy the GuestGuard badge template files to the C:\GuestGuard folder.

Starting GuestGuard the First Time

The first time you log in to the GuestGuard application, you will be guided through the GuestGuard Installation wizard. The installation wizard will not install any new software on your computer. The installation wizard does the following:
Detects the number and type of DYMO LabelWriter printers available on your computer.
Detects the presence of and version of the DYMO Label Software installed on your computer.
Determines that the GuestGuard badge templates are available to the application.
Gathers some basic information about your company and contact person.
Gives you the opportunity to customize some of the GuestGuard application screens.
Once you have completed the wizard, you will be ready to start using the GuestGuard application.

Getting Started with GuestGuard
NOTE You can rerun the complete setup wizard at any time to change your initial settings. You
can also make changes to individual parts of the wizard through the GuestGuard Preferences option.
To start GuestGuard for the first time
1 Open Internet Explorer and select Internet Options from the Too ls menu.
2 Select the Security tab and click Custom Level.
3 Select Enable for the following ActiveX controls and plug-ins:
Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting
4 Click OK twice to close the Security and Internet Options dialog boxes.
5 Enter the URL included in your Welcome email on your browser’s address line. The
GuestGuard log in screen is displayed.
6 Enter the user name and password included in your Welcome email and click Log In. The
GuestGuard Installation Wizard is displayed in full-screen mode.
7 Follow the instructions in the wizard to complete the GuestGuard Installation.

Running GuestGuard in Visitor Mode

GuestGuard runs by default in Receptionist mode, where a receptionist checks your visitors in and out. You can also run GuestGuard in Visitor mode where your visitors are able to check themselves in and out without the assistance of a receptionist.
NOTE GuestGuard Visitor mode is best viewed with a display resolution of 800 x 600 pixels.
To run GuestGuard in Visitor mode
Click on the bottom of the Welcome page.

Press Alt and F4 together.
You are returned to GuestGuard Receptionist mode.
