Safety Rules for Cordless Screwdrivers
Hold powe r tool by insulated grippi ng
surfaces, when performing an operation
w
here the fastener may contact hidden
wiring. Fasteners contacting a "live" wire may
make exposed metal parts of the power tool
"live" and could give the operator an electric
shock.
Always tur n off power to an e lec tri cal
circuit before working on anything that is
or could be in contact with it, and place a
note on the electrical panel to warn others
not to turn it on. Failure to turn OFF the
power source prior to installation/removal of
cover plates or electrical products can result in
electrical shock, fires, permanent injury and/or
death.
Use clamps or another practical way to
secure and support the workpiece to a
stable platform. Holding the work by hand or
against your body leaves it unstable and may
lead to loss of control.
Do not drill, fasten or break into existing
walls or other blind areas where electrical
wiring ma y ex ist. If this si t u a tion is
unavoidable, disconnect all fuses or circuit
breakers feeding this worksite.
Battery tools are always in an operative
condition. Be aware of the possible hazards.
Always wear safet y g o g g l e s o r e y e
protection when using this tool.
Secure t he work piece, never hold it in
your hand or acros s l egs. The dril ling
action may cause you to lose control of the
workpiece and injury may occur.
W
hen installing a bit, insert the shank of the
bit well within the collet. If the bit is not inserted
deep enough, the grip of the collet over the bit is
reduced and the loss of control is increased.
Do not run the tool while carrying it at
yo ur sid e. A spinning bit could become
entangled with clothing and injury may result.
Do not u s e dul l or d a maged bit s and
accessories. Dull or damaged bits have a
greater tendency to bind in the workpiece.
Some dust creat ed b y
power sanding, sawing,
grinding, drilling, and other construction
activities contains chemicals known to
cause c a n cer, b i r th d e f e c t s o r other
reproductive h arm. Som e e xampl es of
these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints,
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement
and other masonry products, and
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically-
treated lumber.
Yo u r risk f r o m these expos u r e s varies ,
depending on how often you do this type of
work. To re duc e your exposure to th ese
chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and
work with approved safety equipment, such
as those d u s t masks t h a t are speciall y
designed to filter out microscopic particles.
Charger Safety Rules
This man ual co ntains ins tru ctions for
battery charger model 510. Do not substitute
any other charger.
Befor e usin g batt ery ch arger, rea d all
instructions and cautionary markings on
(1) battery charger, and (2) product using
battery.
Charge only Dr emel GO. Other types of
cordless tools may burst causing personal
injury and damage.
Charge tool in temperatures above +32
degrees F (0 degrees C) and below +113
degrees F (45 degrees C). Store tool in
locations where temperatur es will not
exceed 120 degrees F (49 degrees C). This
is important to prevent serious damage to the
battery cells.
Do not recha r ge tool in damp or wet
environment. Do not expose charger to rain
or snow. Water entering battery charger may
result in electric shock or fire.
Battery leakage may occur under extreme
usage o r t emp erature c onditions. Avoid
contact with skin and eyes. The battery liquid is
caustic and could cause chemi cal b urns to
tissues. If liquid comes in contact with skin, wash
quickly with soap and water. If the liquid contacts
your eyes, flush them with water for a minimum
of 10 minutes and seek medical attention.
Pl a ce c harge r on fl a t n o nflamm a ble
su r faces and away from fla m mable
materials when recharging tool. Carpeting
and other heat insulating surfaces block proper
air circulation, which may cause overheating of
the charger and tool. If smoke or melting of the
