1.0 Description
The Detcon Model 975-424600-110 is a 24VDC Uninterruptible Power Supply utilizing two (2) 25Ah
batteries and a 24VDC Power Supply. The unit is capable of delivering 4Amps to the load at 24VDC.
The 24VDC output is rated at 4Amp max. If AC is lost the unit is capable of providing 24VDC at 4Amps to
any load for over 5 hours. A low voltage cutoff board is incorporated in the unit to remove the 24VDC from
the load should the batteries fall below 20VDC. When AC power is restored, the batteries are recharged by
the power supply through a Diode current limiting resistor network that will charge the batteries at a rate of
400mA. Note that as long as AC is applied to the unit, 24VDC output will be available regardless of the
charge state of the batteries.
After initial installation of the unit, the batteries should be allowed to charge for at least 12 hours with power
applied to insure full charge.
2.0 Installation
Securely mount the enclosure in the desired place. The control enclosure is rated NEMA 4X, which is by
definition rain tight and therefore suitable for outdoor location in electrically non-hazardous environments.
Connect 100~240VAC input wiring to the terminals labeled “100~240VAC INPUT”; L1 (or VAC), L2 (or
Neutral), and Ground (Figure 1). The Power Supply will accept input voltages from 100 to 240VAC,
50/60Hz.
Connect wiring from the load to the “24VDC OUTPUT” terminals labeled “+” and “-“ (Figure 1).
NOTE: There is no connection to the terminal labeled “NC”.
NOTE: The unit is shipped with the battery interconnect wire (Blue wire running between B1+ and B2-)
disconnected from one of the batteries. This lead should be reconnected during installation for the unit to
operate correctly.
