DVD Video Discs.
Symptom: 1) After selecting the Episode Index on the MENU display of the
particular DVD Video Disc "The A-Team/Universal", the display returns to MENU immediately though the unit plays back the Episode Index momentarily.
2) The image and sound momentarily interrupt upon changing the Layer on the particular DVD Video Disc "Star Wars Episode 2 (PAL version)".
Solution:
MODIFICATION: (Upon Claim)
1) Preparation of the Disc for upgrading: Record the program files onto a blank CD-R and upgrade your customer's unit upon claim.
Note:
• When recording the program files on the CD-R, the Format shall be "ISO9660, Mode 1" and the Session shall be "CLOSE".
• When recording the files on the CD-R, please record them at the 4-times speed of the normal speed. If the 4 times speed was not available, please record them at the minimum speed that is available in your machine.
• If the files were recorded at a high speed, such as 32 or 48 times speed of the normal speed, the upgrading may fail due to the data incorrectly recorded on the CD-R.
The back-end Software has been improved.

2) Rewriting Procedures of the Back-end ROM: (1) Connect the Image Output Terminal (VIDEO OUT or S-VIDEO OUT) of the above unit to a TV. (2) Turn on the Power of the unit. Open the LOADER and set the recorded CD­R for rewriting to the LOADER. (3) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button. (4) The message "LOADING" appears on the FL Display, and the LOADER opens automatically when the upgrading completed. Take out the Disc from the LOADER. During the rewriting operation, indications of "ERASE" and "WRITE" are displayed on the TV Screen repeatedly for approximately one minute, and "DONE" is indicated finally. (5) Turn off the Power of the unit once. While holding the "PLAY" and "OPEN/CLOSE" buttons down simultaneously, turn on the Power of the unit. After the ">||" mark was indicated on the FL Display, press numeral buttons "3", "2", "6" and "5" on the Remote Control. The following Versions appear every time the MENU button on the Remote Control is pressed. Confirm the Version.
• For the DVD-955 and 2910: "ESS6720-8, MAKE DAY 202"
• For the DVD-3910: "ESS6609-9, MAKE DAY 202"
Caution during the rewriting operation:
• Please do not turn the Power of the unit off during the rewriting operation.
• When recording the program file for updating on a CD-R, please record it at the 4-times speed of the normal speed. If the 4 times speed was not available, please record it at the minimum speed that is selectable in your machine. If the program file was recorded at a high speed, such as 32 or 48 times speed of the normal speed, the updating may fail due to the data incorrectly recorded on the CD-R.
• If the Power was turned off during the rewriting operation, replacement of IC102 on GU-3612 in DVD-2910/955 (00GEN6720-8), IC104 on GU-3618 in DVD-3910 (00GEN6609-9) Flash IC may be required. (refer to OST-867)
• During the rewriting operation, if the FL Display stopped while indicating "LOADING" without changing to "DONE", please wait for more than two minutes after closing the Loader and then turn the units power off. Then, start the rewriting operation from the beginning again.
