Read all instructionsand keep thesesafetyinstructions. Anytype of mis­useoftheappliance may resultina potential injury.

Connectthe appliance to amains powersocketwith an earth con­nectiononly. Mainsvoltagemustbe the sameasthe detailson the rat­ing plate. The use ofincorrect connection will negate the guaranteeand maybe hazardous.

Thisapplianceisintendedto be used in householdonly. Itis notinten­dedtobeusedin following applications, and the guarantee will not applyfor:

Donotremovehotcapsulesby hand. Always usecapsuleholder handle todisposeof used capsules.

Alwaysuse the appliance on aflat, stable, heatresistant surfaceaway fromsourcesof heat or watersplashes.

Toprotectagainst fire, electricshock and injury topersons donot immersethe powercord, plugsor the appliance in wateror otherliquid. Avoidspillage on the plug. Never touchthe powercordwithwet hands. Donotoverfillthe watertank.

In case ofan emergency remove theplug from the mains power socket immediately.

Thewatertankshould be cleanedwith a cleanfood-safebrush.

Ifaway forprolonged periods, onholiday, etc. theappliancemust beemptied, cleaned and unplugged.Rinsebefore reuse. Operate therinsecyclebeforere-using yourappliance.

Donotturn off the applianceduringthe descaling process. Rinse thewatertankand clean the appliance toavoidanyresidual descalingagent.

Anyoperation, cleaningand care other than normal use mustbe undertakenby after-salesservice centres designated by NESCAFÉ®DolceGusto® hotline. Do notdismantle appliance and donot putanything into openings.

In case ofintensive use withoutallowingsufficient coolingtime, theappliance will stop functioningtemporarily with the redindic­atorlightblinking. This is toprotectyourappliancefrom over­heating.Switchthe applianceoff for20 minutes toletit cool down.
24.
Donotoperate anyappliancewith a damagedcordorplug. If the powercord is damaged, it mustbe replacedbythemanufacturer, itsserviceagentorsimilarly qualified persons inordertoavoid a hazard.Do not operateany appliance that malfunctionsorhas been damagedin any manner. Unplug cordimmediately. Return the damagedapplianceto the nearestauthorised servicefacilitydes­ignatedby NESCAFÉ®DolceGusto® hotline.

Theuse of accessory attachments notrecommended by the appli­ancemanufacturermay resultin fire, electric shockorinjuryto per­sons.

Donotlet the cord hang overtheedge ofa tableor counter,or touch hotsurfacesorsharp edges. Donotallow thecordto dangle(risk of trippingup). Nevertouchthe cord with wethands.

Donotplace on orneara hot gasor electric burner, orin a heated oven.

Todisconnect, turn themachineoff, then remove the plug from the mainspower socket. Do not unplug bypullingthe cord.

Alwaysinsert the capsuleholder in themachine toprepare a beverage. Donotpull outthe capsule holderbefore theindicatorstops blinking. Theappliancewill notwork if the capsuleholder is not inserted.

Machinesequipped with a lockinghandle: Scalding mayoccur ifthe lockinghandle is opened during the brewing cycles. Donot pull up the lockinghandle before thelights on the machinestop flashing.

Thecapsule holder is equipped witha permanentmagnet. Rinse and clean water tank. Use a clean food-safe brush and washing-up liquidas needed. Afterwards refillwith fresh drinkingwater andinsert itinto machine. The water tankis not dishwasherproof!

Ifthe beverage comes outslowerthanusual (even in droplets), orif it is coolerthan usual or ifthe power buttonis steady orange (descalingsignal), the machine has to be descaled.

Switchoff machine. Ifany, remove water fromwatertank.

Mix 0.5 literfresh drinkingwater withdescalerin a meas­uringcup. Pourdescaling solution into watertank and insert watertank intomachine.

Removedrip grid and driptray. Putrinsing toolinto capsule holder. Insertcapsule holder into machine. Place an empty large containerunderneaththe coffee outlet.

Press and hold ON/ OFF iconfor atleast 5 seconds. ON / OFF starts blinking alternatelygreen / orange and machine enters descaling mode.

Fora better effect ofthedescaler, the machine enters await­ing time of 2 minutes. The ON / OFF iconblinks alternately green / orange during the waitingtime.

Emptyand clean container. Rinse and clean water tank. Use a cleanfood-safe brush andwashing-up liquid asneeded. Afterwards refillwithfreshdrinkingwater and insert itinto machine.

9. TROUBLESHOOTING
9.1 NO LIQUID COMES OUT – NO WATER?
Noliquid comesout: Beverage preparation stops part way duringdelivery or does notstartat all. Bar displayflashes and ON/ OFF iconblinks red and greenrapidly.

Check ifthe watertank contains enough fresh drinking water. If not, refill withfresh drinking water andtouchhot/­coldwater iconagain to continue preparation. If the water tankis full proceedas follows.
Noliquid comesout: The capsule maybe blockedand under pressure.

Always keep the machine upright! To stop preparation, touch hot/coldwater icon again. Do notunplug the machine! Machine releases pressure.

Coffeemix is pressed outof top ofcapsule holder. Wait until pressingprocess is finished. This isthe caseif youhear no noise comingfrom the machine.

Donotdrink the coffee! Ifcapsule holdercanbe pulled out: Throwaway thecapsule. Ifcapsule holder cannotbe pulled out,waitfor20minutes, try again. If capsule holderis still blocked,unplug machine. Call the NESCAFÉ®DolceGusto® hotline. For hotline numbers see lastpage.

Rinse the machine: Follow instructions in 5.“FIRST USE” on page9. Clean with washing-up liquid and freshdrinking waterboth sides of capsule holder.Rinse driptray with fresh drinkingwater andcleanit with acleanfood-safe brush.

Unplugpower plug! Remove watertank.Take out the injectortool. Pull cleaningneedle out ofinjector tool. Keep
needle out ofreach of children!

Removecapsule holder. Push injector tool overinjector.

Removeinjectoronly on coldmachine! Turn injector tool anti-clockwise.Remove injector. Donot leave injectorunat-
tended! Keep injectorout ofreach ofchildren!

Insertcleaningneedle into injector to unclogit. Ifnotpos­sible,prepare a descalingsolution with one descaler and
0.5 liter drinkingwater. Putinjector in descalingsolution.

Put injectoronto injector tool.

Insertinjector from below into opening of machine. Support injectorwith hand. Rotateinjector clockwise until it fits. Fol­low instructions in 8.“Descalingat least every 3-4months” onpage 14.

Machine cannot be switchedon. No opening /closingof the machine.
