inattention may result in serious personal injury.
Do not expose portable power adapter to rain or wet co nd it ions. P ortable po we r
adapter is not waterproof. Water will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not use portable power adapter with uninterrupted power sources (e.g. 12VDC automotive outlets, automotive charger.
Use of uninterrupt ed power sources may cr ea te a ris k of por table p ower ada pt er malfunctions, injury and fire.
Do not plug power source to USB port or heating element power port on the portable power adapter. The portable power adapter is not designed as a charger to charge the battery pa ck. Charging the batter y p ack
through the portable power adapter create a risk of injury and fire.

Such preventative safety measures reduce the risk of injury.
Store out of reach of children and do not al lo w per so ns unfamili ar with the se instructions to use portable power adapter.
Portable power adapter misuse can result in personal injury and property damage hazards.
Periodically check portable power adapter for wear and damage to parts. If damage or
ex ce ssive w ear is disco vered, hav e the portable power adapter repaired before use.
BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable
for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the
battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
If batte ry r elease ta bs a re cra cked o r otherwise damaged, do not insert into tool.
Battery can fall out during operation.
SERVICE Have your portable power adapter serviced by a qualified Bosch repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will
ensure that the safety of the portable power adapter is maintained.

Disconnect and remove battery pack and portable power adapter from Bosch heated jacket pocket before washing. Wetting of the
battery pack and portable power adapter can result in product damage, injury or fire.

INSERTING AND RELEASING
BATTERY PACK
For use only with Bosch re comme nd ed b atter ies.
Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of jacket malfunctions, injury and fire.
To insert battery, align battery and slide battery pack into portable power adapter until it locks into position (an audible click sound is an indication that the battery is locked) (Fig. 2). Do not force.
To remove the battery pack, press the battery pack release button and slide the battery pack completely off of the portable power adapter.

Functional Description and Specifications
The portable power adapter is intended for using a Bosch 18 V lithium-ion battery as the voltage source. With the portable power adapter a maximum of two USB devices and one heating element for the Bosch heating jacket can be powered simultaneously.

CHARGING EXTERNAL USB DEVICES
(SEE FIGURE 3)
You can use the USB ports on the portable p
owe r adap t er t o inc r ease the b a tte r y runtime of v arious battery-operated U SB devices, e.g. mobile phone, MP3 player or tablet PC.
Ensure that your external USB device can be charged using the USB port on the portable power adapter.
Do not connect any device
that is not compatible with 5VDC, 2.4A power source to the USB port on the portable power adapter. Charging of
non-compatible devices may create a risk of portable power adapter malfunction.

2.Pre ss the On but ton for a ctiv ati o n of
portable power adapter. The On button lights up.
If no charger cable is connected, the USB ports are automatically di sabled after 3 0 seconds. The On button light goes out.
The USB ports are disabled automatically to save power when no power is being used from the USB port.
CONNECTING THE HEATED JACKET

create a risk of fire or personal injury.
1.Plug the heated jacket power cable into the
heated jacket power port of the portable power adapter.
2.Pre ss the On but ton for a ctiv ati o n of
portable power adapter. The On button lights.
3.Press t he power button and heat l evel
controller of the heated jacket once for each heat level.
4.Slide the portable power adapter into the
pocket provided in the garment or hang the portable power adapter on your belt using the belt clip.

Troubleshooting
Problem Corrective Measure
External USB device cannot be charged using the USB port.
Check that the battery pack is charged.
Connect the charging cable of the external USB device to the USB port on the portable power adapter. Activate the portable power adapter by pressing On button.
Check that your device does not require any more than the following...
a) when one USB port is used:
5V DC, 2.4 Amp Maximum Output
b) when two USB ports are used:
5V DC, 1.2 Amp Maximum Output
Unfortunately, not all devices can be tested for compatibility and your device may not be compatible.
Heated jacket heating element does not heat up.
Check that the battery pack is charged.
Connect the cable of the heated jacket to the port on the porta ble p ower adapter. Activate the portab le power adapter by pressing On button.
To reduce the risk of injury,
always unplug the portable power adapter and remove the battery pack before performing any maintenance. Never disassemble the battery pack or portable power adapter. Contact a Bosch service facility for all repairs.
Keep the portable power adapter, battery and charger clean at all times.
Do not im mers e th e porta b le pow e r adapter, battery and charger into water or other fluids.
Wipe off debris using a moist and soft cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.
The battery is not serviceable and should be r epa ire d by a n aut hor ize d service center.
