▶ Personal safety
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when using the portable power adapter. Do not use while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of
inattention may result in serious personal injury.
Do not expose portable power adapter to rain or wet conditions. Portable power
adapter is no t waterproo f . Water will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not use portable power adapter with uninterrupted power sources (e.g. 12VDC automotive outlets, automotive charger.
Use of uninterrupted power sources may create a risk of portable power adapter malfunctions, injury and fire.
Do not plug power source to USB port or heating e le m e nt power p or t on t h e portable power a dapter. The portable power ad ap t er is not designed as a charger to char g e the battery pa ck .
Charging the battery p ack through the portable power adapter create a risk of injury and fire.
▶ Product use and care
Disconnect t he battery pa ck from the portable power adapter when not in use.
Such preventative safety measures reduce the risk of injury.
Store out of reach of children and do not allow pe r s on s unfamili a r with these instruction s t o u s e p o rt a bl e p o we r adapter. Portable power adapter misuse
can result in personal injury and property damage hazards.
Periodically check portable power adapter for wear and damage to parts. If damage or
excessive wear i s discovered , have the portable power adapter repaired before use.
▶ Battery tool use and care
Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is
suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small objects that can make a connection

from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
If ba ttery release tabs are cracke d or otherwise damaged, do not insert into tool. Battery can fall out during operation.
▶ Service
Have your port a b l e p o w er a d ap t er serviced by a qualifie d Bos c h re p a i r person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the
portable power adapter is maintained.
Use on ly wit h Bosc h BAT4 1 4 or the batteries listed in the battery/charger list.
Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of jacket malfunctions, injury and fire.
Disconnect battery when not in use or when battery is moist or wet. Moisture
could damage the battery pack and create a risk of fire.
Disconnect and remove battery pack and portable power adapter from Bosch heated jacket pocket before washing. Wetting of
the batter y pack and po r t a bl e power adapter can result in product damage, injury or fire.

▶ Charging External USB

Do not connect any
device that is not compatible with 5VDC, 2.1A power source to the USB port on the portable power ad ap t e r. Char g i n g of non-
compatible devices may create a risk of portable power adapter malfunction.
You can use the USB ports on the
portable power adapter to increase the bat t e r y runtime o f various b a t t e r y­operated USB d ev i c e s, e.g. mo bi l e phone, MP3 player or tablet PC.
Ensure that your external USB device can be charged using the USB port on the portable power adapter.
To use the USB cord supplied with your personal device, plug the USB cable into the USB port and the other end into your device. To activate or wake-up the

Battery Pack
Use only with Bosch
BAT414 or th e batteries listed in the battery/charger list. Use of any other battery packs may
create a risk of jacket malfunctions, injury and fire.
If b a tt e r y relea s e
tabs are cracked or otherwise damaged, do not insert into portable power adapter. Battery can fall
out during operation. To insert the battery, align battery and
slide battery pack into the portable power a d ap t e r until it locks into position. Do not force.
Release battery pack from the portable power adapter unit by pressing on both sides of the battery release tabs and
pull downward.

To reduce the risk of
injury, always unplug the portable po w e r a d ap t e r a n d remove the b a tt e ry pack before performing any maintenance. Never disassemble the b a t t e ry pack o r portable power adapter . Con tact a
Bosch service facility for all repairs.
Ke e p the p o r t a b l e power a d a p t e r , battery and charger clean at all times.
Do not immerse the portable power adapter, battery and charger into water or other fluids.
Wipe off debris using a moist and soft cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.
The battery i s not serviceab le an d should be repaired by an authorized service center.
Maintenance
Operating Instructions
USB power port, press the “USB ON” button for 3 seconds.
When p r e s s ed , the U S B port w i ll determine if a device is plugged in. If so, the USB port will remain on as long as the device is attached for a maximum of 2 hours. If after 60 seconds, the port does not detec t a d e v ic e in i t ia l ly connected, it will deactivate, or go to sleep, conserving battery power.
The portabl e po wer adapter can be placed within the portable powe r adapter pocket or can be attached to the user’s belt with the convenient belt clip.
▶ Connecting the Heated
Jacket Power Cable
Connect only Bosch
heated jacket heating element power cable to the heating element power port of the portable power adapter. Connecting any other
device may create a ri sk of fire or personal injury.

. Plug the heated jacket power cable
into the heated jacket power port of the portable power adapter.
2. Press the power button and heat level controller of the heated jacket once for each heat level.
3. Slide the portable power adapter into the pocket provided in the garment or hang the portable power adapter on your belt using the belt clip.
