Funktion

Das Lenkrad-Fernbedienungs-Interface RCI­4A-VAN verbindet eine Vielzahl von Autoradios
und Navigationsgeräte mit Peugeot- oder
Citroën Fahrzeugen (mit VAN-Datenbus).

Alle Funktionen die das jeweilige Autora­dio unterstützt, können fernbedient werden.

Folgende Signale erzeugt das Interface aus
dem Datentelegramm vom VAN-Datenbus.

Klemme 15 (Zündung / Schaltplus / Ignition)

• Speed (Geschwindigkeitssignal für Gala)

• RFLS (Rückfahrlichtsignal)

•

RC-Kommandos (Vol+ / Vol- / Search up...)

ein entsprechendes Adapterkabel benutzt wer­den.
Bei Radiotyp 1 Geräten (
ist die Zuleitung zu Pin 1 (Speed) zu entfer-

nen.

Kontaktbelegung vor Einbau anhand der Ra-

dio oder Navigations-Einbauanleitung prüfen.

Einbauhinweise

Bevor Sie Ihr Interface anschließen, lesen Sie
bitte sorgfältig die folgenden Hinweise.

Für die Dauer der Montage und des An­schlusses ist der Minuspol der Batterie ab­zuklemmen.

Hierbei sind die Sicherheitshinweise des Kraft­fahrzeug-Herstellers (Airbag, Alarmanlagen,
Bordcomputer, Wegfahrsperren) zu beachten.

Hinweise:

Bei Anschluss von Radiophone-Geräten (Ra-
diotyp 3, siehe Tabelle Seite 17), sind die Ka­bel von Pin 4 und Pin 7 (
zu tauschen. Es kann auch je nach Autotyp

Verkehrssicherheit

Die Verkehrssicherheit ist oberstes Gebot.
Benutzen Sie daher Ihre Autoradioanlage im­mer so, daß Sie stets der aktuellen Verkehrs­situation gewachsen sind.

Bedenken Sie, daß Sie bei einer Geschwin­digkeit von 50 km/h in einer Sekunde 14 m fah­ren.
In kritischen Situationen raten wir von einer
Bedienung ab.
Die Warnsignale z.B. von Polizei und Feuer­wehr müssen im Fahrzeug rechtzeitig und si­cher wahrgenommen werden können.
Hören Sie deshalb während der Fahrt Ihr Pro­gramm nur in angemessener Lautstärke.
Um die Verkehrssicherheit Ihres Fahrzeuges
auch nach den Ein-und Umbauten sicherzu­stellen,überprüfen Sie ob

• alle Tasten und Schalter am Lenkrad und

an der Lenksäule, die nicht für die Radio
und Navigationsbedienung vorgesehen
sind, ihre Funktion gemäß Ihrer Fahrzeug­bedienungsanleitung noch erfüllen

Function

The RCI-4A-VAN steering wheel remote-con­trol interface can connect a large number of
car radios and navigation devices to Peugeot
or Citroen vehicles (with the VAN data bus).

Any function supported by the particular
car radio can be controlled remotely.

The interface generates the following signals
from the data telegrams it receives from the

VAN data bus.

• Terminal 15 (ignition / positive line)

• Speed (for Gala)

• RFLS (reversing light signal)

•

C commands (vol+ / vol- / search up...)

Installation note

Please read the following notes carefully be­fore connecting your interface.

The battery’s negative terminal must be
disconnected while the assembly and con­necting work is being carried out.

The vehicle manufacturer’s safety notes (re­garding the airbag, alarm equipment, on-board
computer, drive lock and so forth) must be

observed.

Note:

If radiophone devices (radio type 3, see page

17) are fitted, pin 4 and pin 7 (

2) must be swapped. Depending on the type
of car, it may also be possible to use an appro­priate adapter cable.
The lead to pin 1 (speed) must be removed on

radio type 1 devices

Check the contact assignments against the
radio or navigation device fitting instructions

before fitting the unit.
If necessary, leads must be

• ***disconnected and insulated or

• ***plugged in or

• ***moved to a different contact.

connection method or pin assignment.

To ensure that your vehicle remains fit for the
road after fitting or modification, check that

• all the buttons or switches on the steering

wheel and on the steering column that serve
purposes other than operating the radio or
navigation device still fulfil their function in
accordance with the vehicle’s instructions
for use, and that

purpose is to operate the radio or naviga­tion device do fulfil their function in accord­ance with these instructions, and in partic­ular that they do not have any unexpected

effects.

Road safety

Road safety has the first priority.
You should therefore always use your car radio
equipment in such a way that you remain alert
to the current traffic situation.
Remember that if you are moving at 50 km/h,
then you will cover 14 m in one second.
We advise against making any adjustments in
critical situations.
It must be possible to hear warning signals
from, for instance, police or fire service vehi­cles promptly from within the vehicle.
You must therefore only listen at a suitable
volume when travelling.

Fonctionnement

L’interface de télécommande au volant RCI­4A-VAN relie toute une série d’autoradios et
de systèmes de navigation aux véhicules Peu­geot et Citroën (équipés du bus de données
VAN).

Toutes les fonctions supportées par l’auto­radio respectif peuvent être commandées à
distance.

L’interface crée, du télégramme de données

du bus de données VA, les signaux suivants :

Consignes de montage

Avant de raccorder l’interface, lisez attentive­ment les consignes suivantes.

Débrancher impérativement le pôle (-) de la
batterie pour la durée du montage et du
branchement.

Respectez ce faisant les consignes de sécurité
du constructeur automobile (air bags, alarmes,
ordinateurs de bord, systèmes anti-démarra-

ge).

Note :

En cas de connexion d’appareils Radiophone
(type de radio 3, cf. page 17), échanger les
câbles du pin 4 et pin 7 (
Il est possible d’utiliser aussi un câble adapta­teur correspondant en fonction du modèle du
véhicule.
En cas de connexion d’appareils Type de
radio 1 (

Sécurité routière

La sécurité routière est impérative !
Utilisez par conséquent votre autoradio en res­tant toujours maître de votre véhicule.
Soyez conscient que vous parcourez à une
vitesse de 50 km/h 14 m à la seconde.
Nous vous conseillons de ne pas utiliser l’ap­pareil dans des situations criê!ques.
Les signaux d’avertissement comme ceux de
la police et des sapeurs-pompiers doivent pou­voir être bien perçus à temps à l’intérieur du
véhicule.
Soyez toujours à l’écoute de l’appareil à un
volume modéré pendant vos déplacements.

Vérifier l’affectation des contacts avant le
montage au moyen du guide de montage de
l’autoradio ou du système de navigation.

Si nécessaire,
