ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT

SAFEGUARDS

Notes on the Plug

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.

Notes on the Cord

The provided short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used,

1.The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and;

2.The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

Plasticizer Warning

CAUTION: To prevent Plasticizers from migrating to the finish of the counter top or table top or other furniture, place NON-PLASTIC coasters or place mats between the appliance and the finish of the counter top or table top. NOTE: Bread may catch fire if the toasting time is setting too long. Close supervision is necessary during toasting and the timer cannot be set too long.

Helpful Hints About Your Oven

When the oven is turned on, the blue power indicator light will come on and remain lit until the oven is turned off manually or automatically once the timer has been used.

When selecting cook time for a particular product or recipe, include preheat time.

This oven has a 30 minute timer. If baking something that will take longer than 30 minutes, we suggest you use the STAY ON feature.

Metal, ovenproof glass and ceramic bake ware without lids can be used in the oven. If foods require covering, use aluminum foil.

Be sure the top of the container or food being baked or broiled is at least 1½ inches away from the upper heating elements.

Turn the temperature control knob to MIN, the function knob to KEEP WARM and the timer to OFF before inserting or removing plug from electrical outlet.

Do not put any container directly on the lower heating element.

1.Place the Baking Rack in position that will accommodate the height of the food to be cooked. Be sure that the food is at least 1 ½ inches away from the upper or lower heating elements.

2.Set the food on the Rack. Make sure that you always use an ovenproof container in the oven, never use plastic or cardboard containers in the oven. Do not put any containers directly onto the lower heating elements.

Use a metal, glass or ceramic baking disk placed on the slide rack in either the upper or lower rack slots.

6

10.If not using the oven timer, turn the timer to OFF once cooking cycle is complete

11.Open the oven door. Using oven mitts or pots holders, slide the rack out to remove the cooked food.

10.Unplug when not in use and allow to cool completely before cleaning.

WARNING: NEVER LEAVE TOASTER OVEN UNATTENDED DURING BROILING.

Hints For Broiling

Broiling is used for tender cuts of meats or marinated meats, fish and some fruits and vegetables. Cooking time is determined by the desired doneness and the distance between the food and the element.

Do not place aluminum foil on top of the bake/broil pan. This traps grease and can cause a fire.

For best results, thaw frozen meats, poultry and fish before broiling.

Trim excess fat from meat and score edges to prevent curling

Toast

It is not necessary to preheat the oven for toasting.

1.Place wire rack onto the lower shelf position.

2.Place the desired pieces of bread directly on the oven rack and close the door.

3.Turn temperature selector to MAX for optimal performance.

4.Position function control to TOAST.

5.To set the timer control to the desired toast browning level, turn the dial past the 10 minute mark and then turn back to the appropriate toast browning setting. The power light will illuminate.

NOTE: Do not set the timer control to the STAY ON position when using the TOAST function.

6.When TOAST time is complete, a signal will sound, and the timer control will finish in the OFF position; the Toaster Oven will shut off automatically; the power light will go off.

NOTE: If toasting is completed before the timer control shuts the Toaster Oven OFF, you may shut the Toaster Oven OFF manually by turning the timer control to the OFF position. The power light will go off.

7.Open the glass door. Wearing protective oven mitts pull the wire rack out from the Toaster Oven. Be careful when removing toast from the back of the wire rack. The inside of the Toaster Oven is very hot. Close glass door.

8.Unplug unit and allow to cool before cleaning.

WARNING: DO NOT LEAVE TOASTER OVEN UNATTENDED DURING TOASTING.

Hints For Toast

Remove all protective wrappings from food before placing in Toaster Oven. Follow toaster food directions.

Frozen and heavy bread require a darker browning setting (e.g. bagels and English muffins).

One slice of bread requires a lighter setting than several slices of bread. When toasting more than one slice of bread, use slices of similar size, thickness and freshness.

Stale bread, thin bread or sweet bread products, such as tea cakes and fruit loaf, brown much more quickly than ordinary bread, so they should be toasted for less time.

7

Bagel / English Muffins

It is not necessary to preheat the oven for toasting.

1.Place wire rack onto the upper shelf position.

2.Place the desired bagel halves directly on the oven rack with the cut side facing upwards. Close the door.

3.Turn temperature dial to MAX for optimal performance.

4.Position function control to BAGEL. Only the upper heating elements will cycle in this setting allowing you to brown the cut half and gently warm the outside.

5.To set the timer control to the desired toast browning level, turn the dial past the 10 minute mark and then turn back to the appropriate toast browning setting. The power light will illuminate.

NOTE: Do not set the timer control to the STAY ON position when using the BAGEL function.

6.When BAGEL time is complete, a signal will sound, and the timer control will finish in the OFF position; the Toaster Oven will shut off automatically; the power light will go off.

Be careful when removing Bagels from the back of the wire rack. The inside of the Toaster Oven is very hot. Close glass door.

8.Unplug unit and allow to cool before cleaning.

WARNING: DO NOT LEAVE TOASTER OVEN UNATTENDED DURING TOASTING.

Keep Warm

This setting is designed to keep food warm after it has been cooked.

1.Position temperature control to 150º F.

2.Set the function control to the “KEEP WARM” setting.

3.Set the timer control to the desired time. When warming is complete, a signal will sound, and the timer control will finish in the OFF position; the Toaster Oven will shut off automatically; the power light will go off.

4.If the timer control is set to STAY ON, turn the oven OFF once the warming is complete. Make sure the power light is off.

5.Unplug unit and allow to cool before cleaning.
