Do not hinder the free circulation of the air around the appliance.
Do not use mechanical devices in order to accelerate the defrosting, others than the ones recommended by the manufacturer.
Do not destroy the refrigerating circuit.
Do not use electric appliances inside the food keeping compartment, other than those that might have been recommended by

on, to allow compressor oil to settle, if transported

Before inserting the plug into the wall socket

shown in the rating plate inside the appliance

We recommend that this appliance is connected
to the mains supply via a suitably switched and
fused socket in a readily accessible position.

carry risks that may have critical consequences

ATTENTION!

environmental friendly but flammable gas. During
the transportation and fixing of the product, care
must be taken not to damage the cooling system.
If the cooling system is damaged and there is a
gas leakage from the system, keep the product
away from open flame sources and ventilate the
room for a whil e.

Transportation instructions

1. The appli ance sh ould be transp orted o nly in a n
upright position. The packing as supplied must be
intact duri ng tra nsport ation.
2. If during the transport the appliance, has been
positioned horizontally, it must not be operated for
at least 4 hours, to allow the system to settle.
3. Failure to comply with the above instructions
could res ult i n d amag e to the appli anc e, for w hic h
the manufacturer will not be held liable.
4. The appli ance mus t be pr otect ed agains t rai n,
moisture and other atmospheric influences.

• Care must be take n whil e cleani ng/carr ying th e
appliance not to touch the bottom of the condenser
metal wires at the back o f the a ppliance, as thi s

• Do not attempt to sit or stand on top of your
applianc e as it is n ot desig ned for s uch us e. You

Installation instructions

1. Do not kee p you r ap plia nce i n a roo m wher e
the temperature is likely to fall below 10 degrees
C (50 degrees F) at night and/or especially in
winter, as it is desi gned t o opera te in am bient
temperatures between +10 and +38 degrees C
(50 and 100 degrees F). At lower temperatures
the appliance may not operate, resulting in a
reduction in the storage life of the food.
2. Do not place the appliance near cookers or
radiators or i n di rec t su nlig ht, as t his w ill caus e
extra strain on the appliance's functions. If
installed next to a source of heat or freezer,
maintain th e foll owing mi nimu m side cl earanc es:
From Cookers 30 mm
From Radiators 300 mm
From Freezer s 25 mm
3. Make s ure that su ffici ent r oom is pr ovi ded
around the appliance to ensure free air circulation
(Item 2).
• Put the back airing lid to the back of your
refriger ator to s et the di stan ce betw een the
refrigerator and the wall (Item 3).
4. The appliance should be posit ioned on a
smooth surfac e. The two fron t feet can be adjus ted
as required. To ens ure th at your a pplian ce is
standing upr ight adj ust th e two fr ont fe et by t urning
clockwise or anti-clockw ise, until firm contact is
secured wi th the fl oor. C orrect a djustme nt of feet
prevents exces sive vibrat ion and noise (Item 4).
5. Refer to "Cleaning and Care" section to
prepare your appliance for use.

Suggested arrangement of food in the
appliance
Guidelines for obtaining optimum storage and
hygiene:
1. The fridge compartment is for the short-term
storage of fresh food and drinks.
2. The freezer compartment is rated
and suitabl e for th e freez ing and storag e of pre-
frozen food. The recommendation for
storage as stated on the food packaging should
be observed at all times.
3. D airy prod ucts sh ould be s tor ed in the special
compartment provided in the door liner.
4. Co oked dis hes sho uld be st ored i n airtig ht
containers.
5. Fresh wrapped produce can be kept on the
shelf. Fre sh frui t and veg etabl es shoul d be
cleaned and stored in the crispers.
6. Bottles can be kept in the door sec tion .
7. To store raw meat, wrap in polythene bags
and place on the lowest shelf. Do not allow to
come into cont act w it h c ooked fo od, t o av oid
contamination. For safety, only store raw meat for
two to thr ee days .
8. For maximum efficiency, the removable
shelves s houl d no t b e cov ered w it h pap er or ot her
materials to allow free circulation of cool air.
9. Do not keep vegetable oil on door shelves.
Keep the foo d packe d, wr apped or covere d. Allow
hot food and beverages to cool before
refrigerating. Leftover canned food should not be
stored in the can.
10. Fizzy drinks should not be frozen and
products suc h as flav our ed wat er i ces sho uld n ot
be consumed too cold.
11. Some fruit and vegetables suffer damage if
kept at tem peratur es near 0°C. T herefor e wrap
pineapples, melons, cucumbers, tomatoes and
similar produce in polythene bags.
12. High-proof al cohol m ust be st ored upr ight in
tightly cl os ed co ntai ners . Nev er st ore pr oduc ts
that contai n an inf lamma ble prop ella nt gas (e.g .
cream disp ensers , spray cans, etc.) or explosive
substances. These are an explosion hazard.
13. To take out the baskets from the freezer
compartment please proceed as in Item 9.

Temperature control and adjustment

Operating temper atur es are co ntroll ed by th e
thermostat knob (Item 5) and m ay be set at any
position between 1 and 5 (the coldest position).
The averag e temper ature i nside the fridg e sho uld
be around +5°C (+41°F). Therefore adjust the
thermosta t to obt ain the desir ed temp eratur e.
Some sections of the fridge may be cooler or
warmer (such as salad crisper and top part of the
cabinet) which is quite normal. We recommend
that you chec k the t empera ture per iodic ally with a
thermometer to ensure that the cabinet is kept to
this temp erat ure. Fr eque nt do or o peni ngs caus e
internal te mper atures to rise, so it is adv isa ble to
close the d oor as soo n as poss ible a fter us e.

Before operating

Final Check

Before you start using the appliance check that:
1. The feet have been adjusted for perfect lev elling.
2. The interi or is dry and ai r can cir cula te freel y at
the rear.
3. The interior is clean as recommended under
"Cleaning and car e.”
4. The plug has been inserted into the wall socket
and the electricity is switched on. When the door
is open the i nterior ligh t will co me on.
And note that:
5. You will h ear a nois e as th e compr essor starts
up. The liquid and gases sealed within the
refriger ation sy stem m ay also m ake som e (nois e),
whether th e compr essor is runni ng or n ot. This is
quite norm al.
6. Slight undulation of the top of the cabinet is
quite norm al due to the manu factur ing pr ocess
used; it is not a defect.
7. We recommend s etting the ther mostat knob
midway and monitor the temperat ure to ensur e the
appliance maintains desi red storage temper atures
(See section Tem perature Control and Adjust ment).
8. Do not loa d the appl ia nce i mme diately it is
switched on. Wait until the correct storage
temperature has been reached. We recommend
checking the temp eratur e with a n accur ate
thermometer (see; Temperature Control and
Adjustment).

Storing frozen food

Your freez er is sui table for the l ong-ter m s torag e
of commerci ally fr ozen f oods an d also ca n be
used to freeze and store fresh food.
If there is a power failure, do not open the door.
Frozen food should not be affected if the failure
lasts for less than 16 hrs. If the failure is longer,
then th
e food should be checked and either eaten
immediately or cooked and then re-frozen.

Freezing fresh food

Please observe the following instructions to obtain
the best results.
Do not freeze too large a quantity
at any one time. The quality of the food is best
preserved whe n it is froz en rig ht thr ough to th e
core as quick ly as pos sibl e.

Do not exce ed the fr eezing capaci ty of y our
appliance in 24 h. Placing warm food into the
freezer comp artmen t causes the r efrigera tion
machine to o perate c ontino usly un til th e food is
frozen solid. T his can tempor arily lead
to excessiv e
cooling of the refrigeration compartment. When
freezing fresh food, keep the thermost at knob at
medium positi on. Small qua ntities of food up to 1/2
kg. (1 lb) c an be fr ozen w ithout a djusting the
temperature c ontrol knob . Take special care not to
mix already froz en food and fres h food.

Making ice cubes

Fill the ice - cube tray 3/4 full with water and place
it in the freezer. Loosen frozen trays with a spoon
handle or a si milar implem ent; nev er use s harp-
edged obje cts suc h as kniv es or for ks.

Defrosting

A) Fridge compartment

The fridge compartment defrosts automatically.
The defrost water runs to the drain tube via a
collecti on cont ainer at the back of the a pplianc e
(Item 6). D uring defros ting , water drople ts may
form at the back of the fridge compartment where
a concealed evapor ator is locat ed. So me dropl ets
may remain on the liner and refreeze when
defrosting is co mpleted . Do not use poin ted or
sharp-edged objects such as knives or forks to
remove the droplets which have refrozen. If, at
any time, the defrost water does not drain from
the collection channel, check that no food
particles have bl ocked t he drai n tube. The dr ain
tube can be cleared with a pipe-cleaner or si milar
implement. Check that the tube is permanently
placed w ith i ts e nd i n the c ollecting tray on the
compress or to prev ent the water spilli ng on the
electric installation or on the floor (Item 7).

B) Freezer compartment

Defrosting is very straight forwar d and w ithout
mess, thanks to a special defros t collecti on basin.
Defrost twice
a year or when a fros t layer of aro und
7 (1/4") mm has formed. To start the defrosting
procedure, sw itch o ff the applia nce at t he socke t
outlet and pull ou t the mains plug . All food shoul d
be wrapped i n sever al lay ers of n ewspaper and
stored in a c ool pl ace (e.g. fridge or larder).
Containers o f warm w ater may be pl aced car efully
in the freez er to s peed u p the de frosting .
Do not use pointed or sharp-edged objects,
such as kn iv es or for ks to rem ove t he f ro st.
Never use hai rdry ers, el ectric al heat ers or ot her
such electrical appliances for defrosting.
Sponge out the defrost water collected in the
bottom of th e freez er com partm ent. Af ter
defrosting, dry the interior thoroughly (Item 8).
Insert the plug int o the wal l sock et and sw itch o n
the electricity supply.

Replacing the interior light bulb

To change the Bulb/LED used for illumination of
your refr iger ator , cal l y our Auth oris edSer vic e.
The lamp(s ) u sed i n thi s appli anc e is not s uit able
for household room illumination. The intended
purpose of this lamp is to assist the user to place
foodstuffs in the refrigerator/freezer in a safe and
comfortabl e w ay. The lamps used in this
applianc e have to w ithst and extr eme p hysic al
conditio ns such as temp erature s bel ow -20°C.

Cleaning and care

1. We recommend that you switch off the
appliance at the socket outlet and pull out the
mains plug b efore c leani ng.
2. Nev er use a ny shar p instru ments or abras ive
substances, soap, household cleaner, detergent
or wax polish for cleaning.
3. U se l uke w arm wat er t o cl ean t he c abi net of
the appliance and wipe it dry.
4. Use a damp cloth wrung out in a solution of
one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to one pint
of water to cl ean the int erior an d wip e it dry .
5. Make sure that no water enters the
temperature control box.
6. If the appliance is not going to be used for a
long perio d of tim e, switc h it off, remov e all fo od,
clean it and leave the door ajar.
7. We recommend that you polish the metal parts
of the produ ct (i.e . door ex teri or, cabinet sides)
with a silic one wax (car pol ish) t o protec t the hi gh
quality pai nt fi nish.
8. A ny dust that g athers on the co ndenser, which
is located at the b ack of t he appli ance, s hould be
removed once a year w ith a v acuum cl eaner .
9. Check door seals regularly t o ensur e they are
clean and free from food particles.
10. Never :
• Clean the a pplianc e with u nsuit able mat erial ; eg
petroleum based products.
• Subject it t o high t empe ratures in any w ay,
• Scour, r ub etc. , w ith a brasi ve mater ial.
11. Removal of dairy cover and do or tray :
• To remove t he dairy cover, first l ift the cover u p
by about an inch and pull it off from the side
where there is an opening on the cover.
• To remove a door tray , remov e all t he conte nts
and then sim ply pus h the door tray u pwards from
the base.
12. Make s ur e tha t t he spe cial pl astic con tain er a t
the back of the appliance which collects defrost
water is clean at all times. If you want to remove
the tray t o cl ean it, foll ow the i nstr uct ions bel ow:
• Switch off at the socket outlet and pull out the
mains plug.

• Gently uncrimp the stud on the compressor, using
a pair of pliers, so that the tray can be removed.
• Lift it up.
• Clean and wipe it dry.
• Reasse mble, r ev ersi ng t he s eque nce a nd
operations.
13. To remov e a draw er, pull it as far as possi ble,
tilt it upwards and then pull it out completely.

Repositioning the door

Proceed in numerical order (Item 10).

Do’s and don’ts

Do- Clean and defrost your appliance regularly
(See "Defrosting").
Do- Keep raw meat and poultry below cooked
food and dairy products.
Do- Take off any unusable leaves on vegetables
and wipe off any soil.

Energy Consumption
Maximum frozen food storage volume is achieved
without using the drawers provided in the freezer
compartment. Energy consumption of your
appliance is declared while the freezer compartment
is fully loaded without using the drawers.
Practical advice concerning the reduction of
the electricity consumption
1. M ake s ure that th e appli anc e is loc ated i n w ell-
ventilated areas, far from any source of heat
(cooker, r adi ator etc .). At the s ame tim e, t he
location of the appliance must be done in such a
way that i t prevents it to be under the direct
incidence of the sunbeams.

2. Make sur e tha t the foo d purc hased i n
refrigerated/frozen condition is placed into the
applianc e as soon as possi ble, es pecial ly dur ing
summertim e. It is recom mende d to use t hermal
insulated bags to transport the food home.
3. We recommend t he thawing of the packets take n
out from the freezer compar tment be done in the
refrigerator com partment. F or this purpos e, the
packet which is going to be th awed will be pl aced in
a vessel so that the water res ulting from th e thawing
does not leak in th e refrigerat or compartment. We
recommend you to st art the thaw ing at least 24
hours before the us e of the froz en food.
4. We recommend reducing the number of door
openings to the minimum.
5. Do not keep the door of the appliance open
more than n ecessar y and mak e sure that aft er
each opening the door is well closed.

the vibrations which might appear
during the operation of the appliance
1. The op erat ion nois e can inc reas e d uring th e
operation.
- In order to keep the te mperatures at the adjust ed
temperatures , the c ompressor of t he appli ance
starts perio dicall y. The noise pr oduced by the
compressor b ecomes stronger when i t start s and
a click can be hear d when it stops.
- The performance an d operation fea tures of the
appliance can chang e accordi ng to the
modifications of the temp erature of the ambient
environment. They must be co nsidered as nor mal.
2. Noises like liquids flow ing or as being sprayed
- These noises are caused by the flow of the
refrigerant in the cir cuit of the appliance and comply
with the oper ation principle of the applianc e.

3. Other vibratio ns and n oises.
- The level of noise and vibrations can be caused
by the type and the aspect of the floor on which
the appliance is placed. Make sure that the floor
does not have significant level distortions or if it
can yield to the weight of the appliance (it is
flexible).
- Another source of noise and vibrations is
represen ted by th e objec ts plac ed on the
applianc e. Thes e object s must be remov ed from
the appliance
- The bottles and the vessels placed in the
refriger ator tou ching each oth er. In s uch cas es
move the bottles and the vessels so that there is
a small dist ance be tween t hem.

Troubleshooting

If the appliance does not operate when switched
on, check;
That the plug i s i nser ted prop erly in t he socket
and that the power supply is on. (To check the
power su pply to th e s ocket , pl ug i n an oth er
appliance)
• Whether th e fuse h as blow n/circ uit bre aker has
tripped/main distribution switch has been turned
off.
• That th e te mper atur e con trol has bee n se t
correctly.
• That the new plug is wired correctly, if you have
changed the fitted, moulded plug.
If the appliance is still not operating at all after
above checks, contact the dealer from whom you
purchased the unit.
