REMOTE CONTROL TRANSMITTER OPERATION

Your AutoPage Security System comes with two 5-button Remote Control Transmitters that feature a sophisticated code hopping system that will prevent illegal use of a code grabber with an attempt to record and steal your transmitter codes.

LOCK – ARM & LOCK

To arm your Security System, press the LOCK button once. The siren will chirp

(1) time and the vehicles parking lights will flash (1) time indicating that the Security System is now armed. The vehicles doors will lock upon arming when interfaced with the Security System.

UNLOCK – DISARM & UNLOCK

To disarm your Security System, press the UNLOCK button once. The siren will chirp (2) times and the vehicles parking lights will flash (2) times indicating that the Security System is now disarmed. The vehicles doors will unlock upon disarming when interfaced with the Security System.

DELETING THE ARM/DISARM CHIRP

When attempting to arm or disarm your Security System, you have the option of temporarily muting the siren chirp sound. To perform this function, simply depress both LOCK & UNLOCK buttons on the Remote Control Transmitter at the same time. No chirp sound will be heard, arm / disarm confirmation will be through the vehicles parking lights only.

REMOTE PANIC FUNCTION

The Remote Control Transmitter may be used as a remote panic switch that will activate the Security Systems siren and vehicles parking lights in case of an emergency. To activate the PANIC function, press and hold the * button on the Remote Control Transmitter for (3) seconds. The siren will sound and the vehicles parking lights will flash continuously. To cancel the PANIC function, press the lock / unlock button on the Remote Control Transmitter.

AUXILIARY FUNCTION (OPTIONAL)

You may use the EXT1 button on your Remote Control Transmitter for a separate function. For example, if your vehicle is equipped with an electronic trunk release, the Security System can be interfaced with it and can electronically release your trunk by pressing the EXT1 button for 2 seconds on the Remote Control Transmitter.

CHANGING THE REMOTE CONTROL TRANSMITTER BATTERY

The Remote Control Transmitters come with (1) miniature 12-volt battery. Under normal use this battery should have a life of approximately one year. If you should need to replace your battery you may want to return to your installing dealer. You may also wish to change the battery by yourself. When purchasing the battery be sure to purchase any of the following: GP23A, #EL12, #VR22 or Radio Shack #23-144.

To replace the battery, carefully remove the case screw located on the bottom of the Remote Control Transmitter where the key ring attaches to the case. Use a miniature #1 Phillips head screwdriver!

After removing the screw, carefully pop open the plastic case. Before removing the battery note the direction of its “+/-“ terminals. Install the new battery exactly the same way using caution not to bend the battery contacts. Replace the case cover and insert and tighten the screw. Do not over tighten! Test the Remote Control Transmitter.

SYSTEM OPERATION

OVERRIDE FUNCTION

The OVERRIDE FUNCTION may be used if the Remote Control Transmitter is lost or inoperative. To operate, enter the vehicle (alarm will sound), turn the vehicles ignition to the “ON” position and push the valet/override switch until alarm stops sounding. The alarm is disarmed & reset. Have your Remote Control Transmitter serviced or replaced.

VALET FUNCTION

To activate the valet, turn the vehicles ignition to the “ON” position, then push and hold the valet/override switch for 2 seconds or until the Security Systems LED turns ON solid. Turn the vehicles ignition to the “OFF” position; your vehicle is now in valet mode. To reactivate, repeat the above procedure noting the system LED will now turn OFF.

Note: If your vehicle has the Keyless Entry option installed, you can still lock and unlock your doors with Remote Control Transmitter while in the Valet Mode.

PASSIVE/MANUAL OPERATION

Manual Arming / Disarming is controlling your security system via the Remote Control Transmitter. This Security System is equipped with an optional Passive Arming feature, which allows the Security System to arm 30 seconds after the last door is closed. Operation is as follows.

1.Turn the vehicles ignition to the “OFF” position and exit the vehicle.

2.After all entrances are closed, the Security Systems LED will flash fast for 30 seconds. If you re-open any door, the Security Systems LED will stop flashing. It will begin flashing again once the vehicles door is closed.

3.After the 30 second timer has elapsed, the Security System will automatically “ARM”. The siren will chirp (1) time and the vehicles parking lights will flash (1) time.

Note: If the vehicles door locks have been interfaced to the Security System, the doors will automatically lock after the passive arming cycle has been completed. If this feature is not desired, see your local dealer and have the Security System re-programmed to eliminate passive door locking.

AUTOMATIC REARMING (OPTIONAL)

If this feature is selected, the Security System will automatically re-arm itself 60 seconds after disarming with the Remote Control Transmitter. Automatic rearm will cancel if any door is opened before the 60 second timer has elapsed.

IGNITION CONTROL DOOR LOCKS (OPTIONAL)

If the vehicles door locks have been interfaced to the Security System, the Security System will automatically lock the vehicles doors when the ignition is turned “ON” and unlock the vehicles doors when the ignition is turned “OFF”.

Note: If any door is open when the vehicles ignition is turned “ON”, the Security System will not automatically lock the vehicles doors.
