Tool refuge table
The tool refuge table is installed in the brush table beneath the tool balancer control panel. To use the tool refuge table, partly open the brush table as shown below. You can place tools on the tool refuge table. Before starting the automatic operation of the machine, be sure to close the brush table you have opened.
The brush table is equipped with a limit switch. Starting the automatic operation of the machine with the table open will display the alarm “EX2272 TOOL SAVE TABLE OPEN”.

Advice for decreasing sound level
Keep the operator away from the machine.
Use a lower press speed and lower axis feed speed.
Use tools with shear angle.
Use tools of smaller size.
Enclose the machine with soundproof walls or the like.
It is also recommended to wear ear protectors.

LOCATION AND FOUNDATION
Select a location where ample space can be provided around the machine, air compressor and tool storage after their installation, as well as for handling worksheets and parts and performing maintenance. Install an air compressor within a distance of 5 m {15 ft} from the machine.
If customer’s power supply is not AC 200 V 50/60Hz or AC220 V 50/60 Hz, prepare a transformer which is protected by the fuse or breaker in the primary line and is adapted to the secondary neutral regime (for example, TN type ) as described on pages 45 and 46. (EN60204-1, Chapter 6.3.3. and Chapter 8)
Install protective devices as described on page 50.
The location must be isolated from any nearby equipment that produces dust or vibration and at least 3 m {10 ft} from any equipment that produces electrical interference, such as welding, drilling, sanding, or grinding machines.
Provide a firm, level concrete floor for the installation of the machine according to the floor plan provided by AMADA. (See page 56.)

LIFTING
WARNING
Lift and carry the machine. Use a crane and wire rope sling with capacities high enough to carry the mass of the machine and the mass of the main control box.
To lift the machine, attach the wire rope sling to the four lifting hooks located below the top covers. Balance, lift, and place the machine carefully while protecting it from impacts.
Have qualified personnel perform the
lifting work. And use a crane and wire rope sling that have ample capacities. Do not spread the wire rope sling so that its angle exceeds 60 degrees when slinging and lifting.
L (distance between lifting hooks):
AE255NT: 3290 mm {130 in.}
AE2510NT: 3290 mm {130 in.}
NOTICE
A PC unit is installed in the main control box. Do not vibrate, shock, stroke,
and sway the main control box.
Anchor the main control box to the floor so that it cannot be moved or tilted.
Take the utmost care when moving the machine for relocation or other
purposes.
Machine
Lift the machine by using the lifting tackle as shown in the figure below.
Balance the machine carefully when lifting it and lower it slowly to protect it against impacts.
The mass of the machine and distance “L1” to “L4” between the lifting hooks are as follows:

SUPPLYING COMPRESSED AIR
The machine requires clean, dry air of 750 (ANR) L/min {26.49 ft3/min} with an operating pressure of 0.5 MPa {72 psi}. It is thus necessary to use an air compressor with a capacity of over 3.4 kW {4.5 HP}. Install the air compressor within a distance of 5 m {15 ft} from the machine to minimize the loss of pressure.
Use a pipe or hose with an inside diameter of 12.7 mm (1/2”) to connect the air compressor with the machine, and connect the pipe or hose to the 1/2” air intake of the air pressure control unit.
NOTICE
If the air compressor must be installed more than 5 m {15 ft} away from the
machine, use a pipe or hose with an inside diameter of more than 19 mm (3/4”).
Clean and dry compressed air is required. If the compressed air contains a
large amount of moisture, it adversely affects the operation of the pneumatic equipment.
AIR PRESSURE CONTROL UNIT
Set the operating pressure at 0.5 MPa {72 psi} for the main air system and the striker air blow system by pulling out the knob of the pressure regulator and turning the knob clockwise to increase the pressure or counterclockwise to decrease it. Push in the knob when the pressure is set.

INSTALLING PROTECTIVE DEVICES
Consider the movement of the machine and worksheet to ensure the safety of the operator when installing protective devices (light curtains) around the machine. The worksheet will thrust out in the front of the machine when the machine axes are zero-returned after automatic repositioning. An oversized worksheet will thrust out both in the front and rear of the machine during operation. Refer to the electric and pneumatic circuit diagrams for connecting the protective devices.
Use a light curtain at the front of the machine.
Install the light curtain at the following distance D from the travel
range of the worksheet (or from the end of the auxiliary table if used):
NOTE
When oversize worksheets are not used and when automatic repositioning is
not taken into account, install the light curtain at the distance D’ from the table at the front and rear of the machine. The distance D’ can be calculated by the same equations as the distance D, but the location of the light curtain varies.
When the SICK M4000 (or MSL, LGS) system (standard accessory) is used,
D or D’ = 1400 mm
The response time of the SICK M4000 (or MSL, LGS) system is 30 ms. For
more information on the SICK M4000 (or MSL, LGS) system, refer to its manual.
When another system is used, the distance D or D’ is calculated by
D or D’ = 850 + (1600 x T) (mm) where T is the overall response time (machine stopping time plus response time of the light curtain).
(For AE2510NT)
50
(For AE2510NT)
The topmost light beam of the light curtain must be higher than 1100
mm, and the bottommost light beam must be lower than 300 mm.
When a wall or fence is installed, it must be higher than 1600 mm and
more than 900 mm apart from the travel range of the worksheet.
Use a fence with openings of 50 mm or less.

Determining hazardous area
Determine the hazardous area of the machine by considering the moving parts of the machine, such as the tables, covers, and worksheet to be punched.
This hazardous area is defined by the dimensions of the largest worksheet that can be punched. Please inform the AMADA engineer who will install the machine of the maximum worksheet dimensions. The engineer will work out the layout of the peripheral guard in accordance with the samples given below.
NOTICE
It is important to take automatic repositioning into account when calculating
the hazardous area. This notice should be written on the commissioning engineer’s report.

INSTALLING MIRROR
