About the Dental Software

The Dental Software provides a set of specific study and sub-study parameters as well as MUSICA processing parameters (MUSICA: MultiScale Image Contrast Amplification) optimized for extra-oral dental studies. With the Dental Software, the image processing features of the ADC Quality System are extended to dentistry. The Dental Software is an add-on program to the ID Software, the IPD Viewer Software, and the QC Viewer Software.
The Dental Software User manual provides general and practical information on using the Dental Software. For full details on using the ID Software, the QC Viewer Software and the IPD Viewer Software, refer to the Reference manual or the online Help of the ID Software, the QC Viewer Software and the IPD Viewer Software respectively.

Dental Software features

The Dental Software permits you to perform exposures which are optimized for extra-oral dental digital radiography. The Dental Software has been
developed for speed class 400 studies compliant with the ’
Guidelines on Quality Criteria for Diagnostic Radiographic Images
The Dental Software adds the following features to y our ADC Quality Sys tem.
n A set of study and sub-study types for extra-oral applications, n A set of image processing parameters (MUSICA parameters) optimized for
extra-oral studies. The Dental Software must be used in combination with the ADC cassette for
dental studies (15 x 30 cm) flat cassette.

You can set the study type via the Identification window of the ID Software. If you have assigned the dental study and sub-study type via the ID Software,
the ADC Online Processing Software will automatically process the image with processing parameters (MUSICA parameters) optimiz ed for the selected dental sub-study type.

Using the ADC cassette for dental studies

For all dental studies, you need the ADC cassette for dental studies (15 x 30 cm flat cassette). Depending on the exposure device, you make the exposure with a curved cassette or with the ADC cassette.
n If the study can be performed with the ADC cassette for dental studies
(15 x 30 cm flat cassette), use this cassette for the exposure.
n If the exposure device requires a curved cassette:
1 Remove the image plate from the ADC cassette for dental studies
(15 x 30 cm flat cassette) and insert the image plate into the curved cassette.
You can do this in daylight.
2 Make the exposure with the curved cassette. 3 Remove the image plate from the curved cassette and insert the image plate
into the ADC cassette.
Again, you can do this in daylight.
