This guide describes how to use the MC3000 UBC Adapter (p/n 21-32665-45) to charge a spare battery. Use the UBC Adapter with a power supply as a standalone spare battery charger, or with the four station UBC2000 to simultaneously charge up to four spare batteries. For additional information about the UBC2000, see the UBC 2000 Universal Battery Charger Product Guide (p/n 70-33188-xx).
For use only with Zebra approved and UL LISTED MC30XX mobile computers, Zebra approved and UL LISTED MC30XX accessories and/or Zebra approved and UL LISTED MC30XX battery packs.
Note: Batteries must be charged within the 32° to 104° F (0° to +40° C) ambient temperature range.
Setup (Stand alone)
Battery Insertion and Removal
Insert the battery into the battery well with the charging contacts on the battery aligning with the charging pins on the adapter, and gently press down on the battery to ensure proper contact.
To remove the battery, press the battery release and lift battery out of the battery well.

This guide applies to model number MC3000 UBC Adapter.
All Zebra devices are designed to be compliant with rules and regulations in locations they are sold and will be labeled as required.
Any changes or modifications to Zebra, not expressly approved by Zebra, could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

Battery Charging Indicators
To charge a spare battery using the MC3000 UBC Adapter, insert the spare battery. The spare battery begins charging.
The UBC’s charge LEDs show the status of the battery charging in the adapter. The table below shows battery charging status indications. The battery usually charges in four hours.

POWER Green Power is connected to the UBC Adapter.

The battery was deeply discharged and is being trickle charged to bring the voltage up to the operating level. After operating level voltage is achieved the battery charges normally.

Battery Safety Guidelines
• The area in which the units are charged should be clear of debris and combustible materials or chemicals. Particular care should be taken where the device is charged in a non-commercial environment.
• Do not use incompatible batteries and chargers. If you have any questions about the compatibility of a battery or a charger, contact Zebra support.
• Do not crush, puncture, or place a high degree of pressure on the battery.
• Severe impact from dropping any battery-operated device on a hard surface could cause the battery to overheat.
• Do not leave or store the equipment in or near areas that might get very hot, such as in a parked vehicle or near a radiator or other heat source. Do not place battery into a microwave oven or dryer.
• Follow battery usage, storage, and charging guidelines found in the user's guide.
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
• If you suspect damage to your equipment or battery, contact Zebra support to
arrange for inspection.
