INSTALLING THE ABPM 6100
RECORDER ON A CARDIOPERFECT
WORKSTATION
Before you start, install the CardioPerfect Workstation software.
See separate installation guide.
1 Plug the recorder into the serial port or
into a USB port.
Install two fresh AA batteries in the recorder. If the recorder is
on, turn it off. (Press and hold the Start/Stop button for five
seconds until the device emits five quick beeps.)
To plug into the serial port if available

Keyspan CD
(included in Keyspan
adapter package)
Install the Keyspan software following the Keyspan instructions.
Select all defaults. Keyspan product registration is optional.
Start/Stop button
Go to Step 2.

All Programs > Keyspan >
USB Serial Adapter > Keyspan Serial Assistant

(a) Make a note of the COM port that is assigned
to your recorder. In this example, the port is COM5.
(b) Close all windows.
Go to Step 2.

2 Select the proper CardioPerfect settings.

(a) Click this icon. (b) Click this tab. (c) Select the COM number
appropriate for your recorder. (d) Clear this check box. (e) Click OK.
You can leave the main screen open.
3 Verify the installation of the ABPM 6100 recorder.

(a) Click the Go button.
(b) Select your test patient.
(c) Click the ABP button.
The recorder turns on. (It will turn on and off
automatically throughout this procedure.)

You can give the recorder any name that you find helpful.
Start/Stop button
Press the Start/Stop button to turn the recorder on.
Press the Start/Stop button again to start the BP pump.
Press the Start/Stop button again to stop the BP pump.
When BP stops, verify that the recorder displays an error code
(“E” followed by a number).
The recorder is ready to take a BP measurement.
Press and hold the Start/Stop button to turn the recorder off.

Verify that your BP measurement appears in the
test patient’s record. (Look for an error message
in the “Comment” column.) Your recorder is
properly installed.
