Replacing a sensor
If you have purchased this new VC7003A accessory sensor to replace an old sensor, follow the instructions to deregister your old sensor. VC7151-102A/VC7151-202A/VC7151-302A telephone system can support up to 30 sensors. To replace a sensor, deregister the registered sensor first, and then register this n ew sensor to the telephone base.
To deregister a sensor on VC7151-102A/ VC7151-202A/VC7151-302A telephone system:
1. Press MENU when the phone is not in use.
2. Enter the code *33734# to ac cess the DEREGISTER menu.

Motion detection
The Motion Sensor detects motion wit h one-minute cool off time. O nce motion is detected, the sensor will start d etecting motions again only after one minute.
The Motion Sensor is more sensitive in detecting motions crossing th e space in front of the sensor than that moving towards the sensor. The Motion Sensor can detect motion occurring at distances up to 40 feet (12 meters) when it is mounted at a height of 7.9 feet (2.4 meters). It is recommended to mount the senso r at the height between 6.2 feet (1.9 meters) and 7.5 feet
(2.3 meters) for optimal detection coverage.
For motion detection of babi es or pets:
If you use the Motion Sensor only to detec t the motion of babies or pets, you can mount the sensor at a lower position to shorte n the minimum distance before reach ing the detection area. It is recommend ed to mount it at the height 3.3 feet (1 meters) for optimal detection of babies and pets.
NOTE
The numerical values in the il lustrations are for conceptual reference on ly. The actual angles and distances may vary upo n the change in the mounted height of the sensor.
Check the sensor before use
1. Place the sensor about 3.3 feet (1 meter) from the telephone base.
2. Waive your hand or walk across the area in front of the sensor.
You will receive alerts at your telephone base. Refer to the Installation guide or user’s manual of your telephone base for the sensor alerts.
The LED light on the Motion Sensor will flash red once.
NOTE
Once motion is detected, t he sensor will only start to detect motion ag ain after one minute. When you have received alerts al ready, you will only receive alerts agai n for motion detected after one minute.
Test the sensor signal strength
You can mount the Motion Sensor at a location where family members or unwanted visitors are likely to be coming and going.
1. Take the sensor to the desired mounting location and then, hold it at the desired height (Refer to Motion detection section). Use adhesive tape to hold the sensor temporarily in place.
2. Enter the Check signal mode under the Sensor setup menu at your handset to test the sensor signal strength.
3. Waive your hand or walk across the area in front of the sensor again and check whether a good signal is received at your telephone base.
NOTES
Once motion is detected, t he sensor will only start to detect motion ag ain after one minute. When you have received alerts al ready, you will only receive alerts agai n for motion detected after one minute. If there is no alert receive d when you walk across the area in front of the se nsor, move your telephone base closer to t he mounting location or move the sensor c loser to the respective product. Depending on surroundi ngs and obstructing factors, like walls or cabinet s, the sensor may not transmit to the telephon e base properly.

NOTES
This sensor must be mounted vertically on wall. Do not moun t the Motion Sensor in a horizontal orientation, or flat on the ceiling.
Make sure the mounting surface is clean. A textured sur face or any imperfections to a smooth surface can keep the mounting tape from making a stron g bond.
This device detects or per forms better when provided wi th a constant and stable environ ment. Avoid placing the sensor at a loc ation which faces direct sunl ight, or exposes to areas that may chang e temperature rapidly, or where ther e are air ducts or substantial air flows.
The recommended mount ing height for motion detection o f adults is between 6.2 feet (1.9 meters) and
7.5 feet (2.3 meters), and that for babies or pets is abo ut 3.3 feet (1 meter).
If you drill the holes into an object other than a stud, inser t the screw anchors into the holes and tap gently on the ends with a hammer until the screw anchor s are flush with the wall or ceiling.
TIP
You can choose to mount the sensor with t he mounting tape first. Remove the m ounting tape and use screws later if you decide to mount it at that location for long term.

NOTE
You need to trigger the sensor by motion to activate the change of Pet Immuni ty setting. A message to this effect wi ll appear on this handset display. As the motion sensor uses th ermal body heat to detect motion, the Pet Immuni ty function works off thermal body he at parameters to an approximate mass of 25kgs. If the p et gets too close (within 2 metres), o r too far (outside of 12 metres) from the sensor’s range, its movement may still trigger the se nsor as the mass detection functi on may be affected by proximity.
