Safety
•Ensurethattheplatformisproperlyattachedtothe
machineandisingoodworkingorderpriortouse.
•Operatethemachineupanddownslopeswith
theheavyendofthemachineuphill.Weight
distributionchangeswithattachments.Anempty
bucketmakestherearofthemachinetheheavy
end,andafullbucketmakesthefrontofthe
machinetheheavyend.Mostotherattachments
makethefrontofmachinetheheavyend.
•Lowertheloaderarmsbeforesteppingoffthe
platform.
•Donottrytostabilizethemachinebyputting
yourfootontheground.Ifyoulosecontrolofthe
machine,stepofftheplatformandawayfromthe
machine.
•Donotplaceyourfeetundertheplatform.
•Donotmovethemachineunlessyouarestanding
withbothfeetontheplatformandyourhandsare
holdingontothereferencebars.
•Allowonlythemachineoperatorontheplatform.
•Donotallowuseoftheplatformbyuntrained
operators.
•Lookbehindanddownbeforebackingupto
ensurethatthepathisclear.
•Dismountandlatchtheplatforminthetransport
positionwhenloadingandunloadingthemachine.
•Slowdownbeforeturning.Sharpturnsonany
terrainmaycauselossofcontrol.
•Donotusetheplatformonroughanduneven
terrain.
•Ensurethatyouoperatetheplatforminareas
wheretherearenoobstaclesincloseproximity
totheoperator.Failuretomaintainadequate
distancefromtrees,walls,andotherbarriersmay
resultininjuryastheplatformbacksuporturns
duringoperationiftheoperatorisnotattentiveto
thesurroundings.Onlyoperatetheunitinareas
wherethereissufcientclearancefortheoperator
tosafelymaneuvertheplatform.
•Donotexceedtheratedoperatingcapacity,as
thetractionunitwiththeplatformmaybecome
unstable,whichmayresultinlossofcontrol.
•Beforeperforminganyservice,repairs,
maintenance,oradjustments,dothefollowing:
–Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
–Lowertheloaderarmsanddisengagethe
auxiliaryhydraulics.
–Engagetheparkingbrake(ifequipped).
–Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
•Keepnutsandboltstight.Keepequipmentclean
andingoodcondition.
•Useonlygenuinereplacementpartstoensurethat
originalstandardsaremaintained.

2.Lowertheloaderarms.
3.Engagetheparkingbrake.
4.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
5.Washalldirtanddebrisfromthemachine.
6.ForTX400seriesmachines,removethe
counterweightsandtheirfastenersfromtherear
ofthemachineandstoretheminasafelocation
(Figure1).

1.Checkandtightenthebottom2boltssecuring
thelowerrearpaneltotheframe(Figure2).
