2 Please read this first

Dear customer,

This quick start manual describes in a simple way the most important connection options and the basic operating steps required to enable you to quickly start operating the MultyVision 32 ISIO, MultyVision 40 ISIO or MultyVision 46 ISIO.

Please also ensure that you comply with the notes on safety provided under section 2 of the instruction manual on appropriate use, operation, power consumption in standby mode and during operation as well as on transporting and cleaning the television. You will also find information provided in this section about disposal of the packaging and of the television. The manufacturer's declaration is also provided in this section.

2.1 Intended use

> Connection to mains power 230V/50Hz.

> The TV set is intended only for the reception and playback of picture and sound

signals.

> The device is only suitable for connection to audio and video devices, antenna

systems and computers that meet DIN standards and have a CE mark.

Use is permitted in private and commercial situations in dry rooms and under

supervision.

> Any other use is expressly forbidden.

2.2 Manufacturer's declaration

The TV meets the following requirements:

> EU directive 2006/95/EC (low voltage directive)

- EN 60065

> EU Directive 2004/108/EU (EMC directive)

- EN 55013, EN 55020, EN 61000-3-2

and bears the CE mark.

2.3 Important instructions

Please observe the following advice to avoid any risk to safety, to prevent damage to the device and data contained on the hard disk and to help protect the environment.

2.3.1 Safety

For your own protection you should read the safety notes carefully before using your new TV. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by inappropriate handling or by non-compliance with the safety precautions.

Do not open the TV under any circumstances!

Touching parts that conduct high voltages can be fatal!

Any necessary repairs to the TV should only be carried out by qualified personnel.

The TV has an integrated hard disk.

Replacement not authorised by TechniSat is forbidden and may mean that TechniSat

can no longer guarantee that the unit still meets the legal requirements (e.g. the Equipment and Product Safety Law, law concerning the electromagnetic compatibility of equipment). The CE mark will then no longer apply. When selling an altered unit the person responsible for the conversion is accordingly liable to the manufacturer. Furthermore the TechniSat warranty shall no longer apply and can result in loss of warranty rights.

Only operate the TV in a temperate climate.

Do not switch on the TV immediately after delivery or transportation in cold weather;

wait until it reaches room temperature.

Do not expose the set to dripping or sprayed water. If water gets into the unit,

immediately disconnect the mains plug and inform the service department.

Do not place the TV on a narrow shelf or in small cabinets; ensure a minimum

ventilation gap of 10cm around the unit.

The set has ventilation slits to allow heat to escape from the inside the set. Do not

cover the ventilation slits with objects such as newspapers, tablecloths etc.

Do not operate any sources of heat near the TV which may also heat it up.

Do not place objects over the ventilation slits.

In thundery weather and when the set is not to be used for an extended period or

during absence you should remove the mains and antenna plugs from the set. Overvoltage can damage the TV.

In the event of an obvious fault with the TV, emanation of noise or smoke, substantial

malfunctions, damage to the power cable or housing or fluid ingress, immediately unplug the mains adapter and contact the Service department.

In the event of a power failure, the TV should be switched off at the mains.

During long absences the TV should be switched off. This extends the lifetime of the

screen and saves energy.

2.3.2 Disposal

The packaging material used for your TV consists entirely of recyclable materials. Please sort the components appropriately and dispose of them according to your local waste disposal regulations

At the end of its useful life, this product should not be disposed of with your regular household waste. It must be taken to a recycling collection point for electrical and electronic equipment.

This is indicated by the symbol on the product, the operating manual or the packaging.

The materials can be recycled in accordance with their labelling. By ensuring that valuable raw materials are re-used you can make an important contribution towards protecting our environment.

Please contact your local authority for the location of the nearest recycling point. Please ensure that dead batteries from the remote control and electronic waste items are not sent to your regular household refuse site, but are correctly disposed of (either in special bins for problem waste, or at collection points at specialist dealers).

2.3.3 Power consumption in Standby and during operation

The TV's power consumption in standby and during operation depends on the settings you select, the functions you use and the devices inserted/attached such as CI modules or USB storage media.

Thus you can reduce power consumption during operation by, for example, only inserting/ connecting-up CI modules and USB storage media if they are actually going to be used. Power consumption during operation is also influenced by the selected picture mode and backlighting setting (Main menu > Settings > Picture Settings). The higher the backlighting setting, the higher the power consumption.

As the TV is not fully in standby mode during the automatic software download (Main menu > Settings > Service Settings > Software Update) for the relevant period, power consumption can be reduced by disabling this function. Power consumption is also influenced by the standby clock and fast start functions.

Observe the relevant points and technical data.

2.3.4 LCD screen

The screen you have purchased meets the highest quality standards and is tested and classified according to ISO 13406-2 with regard to pixel errors.

2.3.5 Data on the hard disk

We recommend creating a backup copy of data located on your TV as restoring data is not part of the maintenance and repair work carried out in the event of a service. TechniSat accepts no responsibility for the loss of, or damage to, data during repair work.

2.3.6 Transportation

Only transport the TV in a vertical position. Ensure that neither the LCD screen nor the housing are in contact with hard or sharp-edged objects to prevent damage and scratches.

2.3.7 Care and cleaning

The housing and LCD screen should only be cleaned with the LCD screen cleaning kit and only when switched off.

You can acquire the LCD screen cleaning kit at your dealer, under the name LCD Screen Cleaner and item number 0000/3830.

Using dry or damp cloths and other spray cleaners or very aggressive chemical

detergents is likely to cause damage to the high quality housing and LCD screen surfaces.

2.3.8 Legal notices

Your TV bears the CE symbol and complies with all requisite EU standards.

2.3.9 Servicing notes

2.4 Wall mounting

You can use a wall bracket to attach your TV to a suitable wall. You can obtain a suitable wall bracket, e.g. one of the following, from a specialist dealer.

You must remove the stand for wall mounting.

2.4.1 Removing the stand

> Lay the TV down with the screen side on a level surface.

Ensure that no pressure is placed on the LCD panel and that it is not damaged.

> First remove the two marked plastic caps by carefully sliding a small slot screwdriver

under the caps into the recess and then lifting out the caps.

> Loosen and remove the two marked stand screws.

> Loosen and remove the two marked central screws.

> Now carefully remove the stand from the underside of the TV and instead place the

stand cover provided on the exposed underside of the TV as shown.

> Screw the two stand screws back in, then snap the two previously removed plastic

caps back onto the screw holes.

If you want to reattach the stand, proceed in the reverse order.

2.4.2 Mounting the wall bracket

> Loosen and remove the four marked screws.

> Now proceed as described in the wall bracket assembly instructions to attach it to the

TV.

> Use the threaded sleeves into which the four screws you removed were inserted to

screw the wall bracket onto the TV.

In doing so, please ensure that the screws are not allowed to be screwed deeper than

20 mm into the TV.

2.5 Remote control

2.5.1 Changing the battery

> Open the cover of the battery compartment at the rear of the remote control by

pushing it in the direction of the arrow and then lifting it off.

> Insert the supplied batteries, ensuring that the poles are the right way around

(indicator visible in battery compartment).

> Close the battery compartment again.

2.5.2 Remote control code

By switching over the remote control option it is possible to use this remote control to operate a TechniSat television and two TechniSat receivers using the same coding.

> Hold down the remote control code button to switch over the remote control

option and press the OK button as often as necessary until the LED for the desired remote control option (TV, SAT1 or SAT2) flashes briefly.

The currently set remote control code will be displayed, as the appropriate LED

flashes, while pressing a button.

3 Connecting

a Connection/s for the satellite antenna with the LNB input 1/LNB input 2. (Please

note: the LNB must be connected to LNB input 1 when operating with an antenna signal.)

b Connecting the cable connection (digital and/or analogue) or the DVB-T antenna to the

antenna input on the television.

c Connecting the television to a BluRay/DVD player using an HDMI cable or a cinch

components cable.

3.1 Satellite antenna

a Connect the LNB inputs 1 / 2 with two separate antenna feed lines which are set

up identically to be able to use the full range of functions .

If there is only one antenna signal available, connect this to LNB input 1 on the

television.

3.2 Antenna/cable connection (analogue and digital)

b Connect the antenna input for the LCD TV to either a terrestrial antenna or to the

connection socket for the cable or antenna connection.

To receive DVB-T signals and DVB-C and analogue cable channels simultaneously,

use the TechniSat DVB-C/T switch (part no. 0000/3263).

3.3 BluRay/DVD player

c Connect your BluRay/DVD player using (for example) an HDMI connection cable with

an HDMI connection.

3.4 Surround sound/Hi-Fi amplifier

You can connect the LCD TV to a surround sound or Hi-Fi amplifier to obtain the best possible sound quality.

3.4.1 Digital

d If your amplifier has an appropriate electrical or optical input (S/P-DIF), connect

the Audio output digital socket (electrical or optical) to the input on your amplifier.

Depending on the broadcaster concerned, the stereo signal (PCM) and, where

broadcast, Dolby Digital signal (AC3) are available.

3.4.2 Analogue

d To do this, use a suitable cable to connect the cinch connectors for the analogue

audio output on the television to an input on your amplifier (e.g. CD or AUX. Warning! The phono input is not suitable!).

3.5 Mains power connection

The television should only be connected to the mains power network (230V / 50Hz)

once it has been completely connected by cable to the associated components. This will avoid damage to the TV or other components.

4 Basic operation

Dear Customer

The following section starts by covering basic operation as well as recurring operating steps for the TV. This should make it easier to read the instruction manual, since it avoids repeated description of identical steps at each individual stage.

If it is necessary for a function or setting for the TV to be different from the basic operation, the difference in operation is described in detail at the relevant point in the instruction manual.

The so-called "On Screen Display" is used on your TV. This simplifies operation of the television since the buttons on the remote control can take on different functions, which makes it possible to reduce the number of buttons. In this On Screen Display (OSD for short) the selected functions or settings are highlighted. Furthermore, you will see a line at the lower edge of the screen in which the various buttons on the remote control are shown with their current functions.

In this instruction manual the terms shown in the OSD as well as the buttons to be pressed are highlighted from the rest of the text by the display format used.

Warning - indicates an important note which you absolutely should observe in order to

avoid problems with the television, loss of data or unwanted operation.

Tip - indicates a note about the function described as well as other functions

associated with it and any others to be observed with reference to the respective place in the instruction manual.

4.1 Switching the television on/off

> If the TV is on standby, you can reactivate this by pressing the On/Standby button

on the remote control or by holding down the On/Standby sensor of the local control on the TV for 2 seconds.

> From normal operation, switch the TV off by pressing the On/Standby button on

the remote control or press or gently hold in the On/Standby sensor on the TV for 2 seconds to switch to standby.

When switching the TV on/off, also observe section 6.1 in the quick start manual as

well as the instructions given under this point.

4.2 Calling up the main menu and navigating through the menus / functions

The following example will illustrate how you reach the main menu and call up a submenu. The objective of the example is to call up the Picture settings menu.

> Press the Menu button. The main menu appears on the screen.

> Select the Settings menu item by moving the highlight over this item using the

arrow keys.

> Press the OK button to open the Settings menu.

> Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight the Picture settings item.

> The Picture settings menu is opened by subsequently pressing the OK button.

You can also highlight the individual menu items in the same way as you highlight an

item on a submenu to open it and alter the respective settings.

The menu items in some menus have to be highlighted by moving sideways. This is

done by pressing the right/left arrow keys.

By pressing the up/down arrow keys it is possible to move the highlight from line

to line and to move upwards and downwards page by page using the page up/down buttons.

You will see the so-called menu path in the uppermost line of the menu. This shows

you the menu you are currently in and the path you took to reach this menu. In the example shown this is Main menu > Settings > Picture settings. The menu path is also shown throughout the instruction manual and shows you how you can reach the respective menu with the settings described.

If the blue function key with Help is displayed in the bottom line on the screen, a

Help page can be displayed by pressing this button and hidden by pressing it again.

4.3 Accepting settings / Exiting menus and functions

In some menus and functions the changes made must be accepted manually in order to save them permanently. If this does not happen, the function or the values that existed before the change was made will be reset automatically on exiting the menu.

If an Accept field or the green function key with Accept is displayed in the bottom

line of the screen, you can see that the changes made must be saved manually to be accepted.

> By highlighting Accept using the right/left arrow keys and confirming with the

OK button or by pressing on the green function key (Accept), the changes are saved and you return to the next menu level up.

Alternatively:

> Press the Return button.

A request appears asking whether the changes you made should be applied.

> Use the right/left arrow keys to highlight Yes or No and confirm your selection

by pressing the OK button. Changes will now be saved or discarded according to your selection and you move back to the next menu level up.

Alternatively:

> Press the Menu button to leave the menu directly.

The settings that need to be saved manually will be reset in this case.

If the green function key with Accept is not displayed in the bottom line of the

screen, the changes are saved automatically on exiting the menu.

4.4 Changing a setting

You can create settings using the arrow selection method, the selection list, by entering numbers and by using the virtual keyboard. The television specifies the

method that can be used to change a highlighted setting. You can see this from the following displayed symbols:

4.4.1 Arrow selection method

> If

is shown on the left and on the right next to the set value, you can alter this using

the left/right arrow keys.

4.4.2 Selection list

is shown on the right next to the set value, the value is changed using the selection list.

> Press the OK button to open the selection list.

> Highlight the setting you want using the up/down arrow keys.

By pressing the up/down arrow keys it is possible to move the highlight from line

to line and to move upwards and downwards page by page using the page up/down buttons.

> Confirm by pressing on the OK button. The selection list is closed again and the

selected setting is shown in the menu.

4.4.3 Entering numbers

> Enter the new setting you want using the numeric keypad key if a question mark

or a number value or is shown inside the highlight.

Note the number of digits used in the entry as there must always be the same number

used. This means that if a five-digit value is required, for example “10600", but you only wish to set a four-digit value, for example “9750“, then you must enter a “0” at the beginning for every unused location. Therefore, in this example, it would be necessary to enter “09750”.

4.4.4 Virtual keyboard

is shown on the right next to the set value, the value is amended using the virtual keyboard. You have three different keyboard options when using this data entry method. You can switch the keyboard layout between the so-called QWERTY keyboard and the alphabetic keyboard; an SMS keyboard can also be used at any time. The functionality of the QWERTY keyboard is identical to that of the alphabetic keyboard. They only differ in the arrangement of the various letters, numbers, characters and symbols.

> Press the OK button to open the virtual keyboard.

The keyboard now appears in the alphabetic format.

> You can switch to the QWERTY keyboard and back to the alphabetic keyboard by

pressing the Option button.

You can now enter the term you want as follows.

Arrow keys: Moves the highlight on the keys of the virtual keyboard.

OK: The highlighted character is added to the end of the term, or

the highlighted function is executed.

/ Yellow function key: The keyboard switches between upper case/lower case.

/ Red function key: Pressing/holding down deletes the character in front of the

orange highlight/the whole entry.

/ Green function key: The entered term is accepted.

/ Blue function key: The keyboard switches over to the alternative characters.

: Moves the orange highlight within the term.

The SMS keyboard is operated using the numeric pad on both the alphabetic and the QWERTY keyboard and can be used at any time. Therefore the coloured buttons incorporate the functions described above.

> Press one of the numeric pad keys 0 - 9 and select the various letters, numbers,

characters and symbols. The first letter of the respective row of characters is highlighted after first pressing a numeric pad key.

> The highlight then moves one field to the right for every additional press of the same

numeric pad key. Press as often as necessary to reach the desired character. This will be added to the entered term after a short delay.

The various numeric pad keys are assigned the following displayed letters, numbers, characters and symbols.

Once you have reached the field you want with the highlight, you can then begin

selecting the next character immediately since, in this case, the character is directly added to the term.

If you wish to continue directly selecting a character from the same numeric pad

key, you can add the previously highlighted character to the term by pressing the right arrow key.

If you are using a USB or wireless keyboard, for example the TechniSat ISIOControl

keyboard (part no. 0001/3850), you can also use this keyboard to carry out all the input entered using the virtual keyboard. Hence the TechniSat ISIOControl keyboard is specially designed for the TV and also enables control of a wide range of other operations.

4.5 Options selection

In some menus and operating modes (e.g. TV mode, music/images playback etc.), you have the option of calling up additional functions and options via the options selection function.

> Press the Options button to open the options selection function in the lower right-

hand corner of the screen. In this example we can see the options selection for the channel list.

> Every additional press of the Options button moves the highlight down one line each

time.

Some options are selected directly in this window. Other options for a number of

subordinate selection options are located in the options groups. Highlighting one of these options groups automatically opens another window on the left.

> You can use the up/down arrow keys within the options group to highlight one of

the options listed in there.

By pressing the up/down arrow keys it is possible to move the highlight from line

to line and to move upwards and downwards page by page using the page up/down buttons.

> The highlighted option is selected by pressing the OK button and you exit the options

selection area.

> If you do not want to select an option or wish to leave the options selection area

without making any changes, simply press the Options button until it is hidden.

5 Initial installation

On initial installation of the TV, the AutoInstall installation wizard starts automatically. Using the installation wizard is the simplest way for you to create the most important settings for your TV.

The initial installation process shown here serves merely as an example. The exact process for the initial installation will depend on the settings you select. Therefore please follow all instructions displayed on screen carefully.

Menu language

The installation wizard starts when you select the menu language.

> Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight the menu language you want and

confirm by pressing the OK button.

The preferred audio language will be set automatically according to this selection.

Country selection

> Using the up/down arrow keys select the country in which the television will be

operated and confirm by pressing the OK button.

Automatic setting of the local time as well as changing to summer/winter time will take

place based on your selection. Channels will also be automatically sorted in the installation wizard according to this setting as well as following a channel search.

Display mode

> Use the up/down arrow keys to select your preferred display mode and confirm by

pressing the OK button.

You can change the selected display mode again to whatever you want after

AutoInstall, in Settings > Picture settings.

With the natural and intensive display modes, pay attention to the message and

confirm with OK.

Selecting reception signals

> Use the up/down arrow keys to select the reception signal whose availability you

want to switch on or off.

DVB-S for digital satellite channels DVB-C for digital cable channels DVB-T for digital terrestrial channels; Analogue CT for analogue terrestrial and cable channels FM Radio for UHF radio channels.

> Press the OK button to open the selection window, highlight the setting you want with

the up/down arrow keys and close the window by pressing the OK button again.

> To get to the next step of the installation, use the arrow keys to highlight the

Accept field and confirm with the OK button.

Number of antenna signals (DVB-S)

Select the number of attached DVB-S antenna feed lines.

If the DVB-S source has been disabled, this page of the installation wizard does not

appear; you are taken directly to the Antenna settings (DVB-T) page instead.

> Use the right/left arrow keys to select the attached antenna signals and confirm

by pressing the OK button.

Antenna configuration (DVB-S)

In this step of the installation you can adjust your TV setup to the configuration of your satellite antenna.

If the source DVB-S has been disabled as described in the Selection of reception

signals step, you will be taken straight to the Antenna configuration (DVB-T) page of the installation wizard instead of this page.

> Press the OK button to accept the default antenna setting and continue with the

Antenna configuration (DVB-T) section.

> If the configuration of your reception equipment does not match the default setting,

you can open the antenna configuration function by pressing the Options button and adjust the setting on your reception equipment.

Antenna configuration (DVB-T)

A channel spectrum with the signal levels of the various channels is displayed in this step in order to be able to align the DVB-T antenna for the best reception.

The Channel search / ISIPRO appears immediately if DVB-T has been disabled.

> Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight the Antenna supply field and confirm

by pressing the OK button.

> Switch the antenna feed on or off by using the up/down arrow keys to highlight

to relevant input and confirm with OK.

> To get to the next step of the installation, use the arrow keys to highlight the

Accept field and confirm with the OK button.

Network configuration

In this step the TV automatically checks the network configuration.

> If you do not want to run the network configuration check, press the Info button.

> If you want to change the network settings, press the Options button and proceed

as described in section 5.1 and 5.2 of the quick start manual, then confirm with the green function key to accept the settings.

> After the network check has been successfully completed, press the OK button to

move on to the next step.

Channel search / ISIPRO (DVB-S only)

> To download the available current channel list, use the up/down arrow keys to

highlight the ISIPRO - service list update line and start the process by pressing the OK button.

After the service list update, an automatic channel search on all other configured

reception sources is then carried out via All Channels.

> If you want to run a channel search via satellite as well, or if the DVB-S reception

signal has not been configured, use the up/down arrow keys to highlight the All channels or All unencrypted channels field, then start the channel search process by pressing the OK button.

All Channels searches for free-to-air and encrypted channels, and All

unencrypted channels for just free-to-air channels.

Regional programmes

Some broadcasters transmit channels with varying regional content. On this page you can define your preferences for these regional programmes.

> Using the arrow keys highlight the channel provider for the preferred regional

programme you wish to set up and select this using the selection list.

If you subsequently select another regional programme for a programme provider as

per section 6.2.4, this will be saved in the same way for this programme provider.

Software update

> If you do not want to wait for a search for new software or a software download, you

can, if necessary, skip this step by pressing the Info button.

> If there is no new TV software available, you can press the OK button to go to the

next step in the installation wizard.

> If, on the other hand, new TV software is found, the automatic software update can be

started by pressing the OK button.

ISIO Internet list update

The TV now checks whether there is a new list of website links available.

> If you do not want to wait for a search for new software or a software download, you

can, if necessary, skip this step by pressing the Info button.

Loading SFIplus data

Your TV has the SFIplus ("SiehFern Info") electronic programme guide. To enable the data for the electronic programme guide to be displayed, it must first be downloaded. To do this, your TV automatically starts downloading the SFIplus data as soon as any software updating has been completed. This process can take up to 30 minutes.

> If you do not want to wait for the SFIplus data to be downloaded, you can skip this

process by pressing the Info button.

If the SFIplus update has been skipped, your TV will automatically download the

SFIplus data at the set time, as long as this function remains enabled and the TV is also in Standby mode at this time. You can also launch the update manually at any time from the Main Menu under Settings > Programme guide.

Exiting the installation wizard

> Confirm the final message from the installation assistant by pressing the OK button.

5.1 LAN network settings

In the Network - LAN menu you can select IP mode, enter the IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS server and test the network connection and Internet speed. > Call up Main Menu > Settings > Special functions > Network settings -

LAN

5.1.1 IP mode

> In this line select the IP mode (Static, DHCP Client or DHCP Server) in which

the TV should operate.

There are settings for the following functions here:

Static In this setting the DHCP function is switched off. This means that the

IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS server 1 and DNS server 2 must be manually adapted to your current network environment. Manual input for adapting to your network is as described in sections

5.1.2 - 5.1.5.

DHCP client If your TV is connected to your PC via a router, select this setting.

The TV now gets the IP address and subnet mask allocated by the connected router, as long as the DCHP function in the router has been enabled.

DHCP server Select this setting if your TV is connected to your PC directly or via

a network switch. The TV automatically assigns an IP address to the connected PC. The TV's IP address and subnet mask can be configured manually, as described in sections 5.1.2 - 5.1.5.

Please note that whether or not you need to make specific entries depends on the way

your network is configured.

The following settings (sections 5.1.2 - 5.1.5) can only be selected if the Static or

DHCP Server IP mode has been selected.

5.1.2 IP address

> Under this item, enter the IP address corresponding to your network.

5.1.3 Subnet mask

> Under this item, enter the subnet mask corresponding to your network.

5.1.4 Gateway

> In this line, enter the gateway corresponding to your network.

5.1.5 DNS server 1 / DNS server 2

> In these two lines enter the DNS server 1 and, if necessary, the DNS server 2 as well.

5.1.6 Check network connection / Internet speed

> In the Network connection line, call up the Check item to test whether a

connection to your router can be established using the previously configured settings.

If a is displayed next to the values, the test was successful. The speed is also

displayed for the gateway and the DNS server(s).

If an error occurred in testing one of the settings, this is displayed on the screen with

the corresponding error message.

> Using the green function key (Check again), you can relaunch the network

connection test.

> By pressing the yellow function key (Test speed), you can launch the Internet

speed test process.

During the test the progress - and after the test the result - are displayed on the

screen.

5.2 WLAN network settings

In the WLAN network settings menu you can select your WLAN network and enter the corresponding key, select the DHCP setting and enter the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS server 1 and DNS server 2.

> Call up Main Menu > Settings > Special functions > Network settings -

WLAN

5.2.1 Selecting the WLAN network

> Select the WLAN network to which you want to connect.

A window opens with details of the encryption types and network name (SSID) and a

field for entering the network key. If the network key has already been entered and saved, this is indicated with multiple stars in the display.

> If the network key has not yet been saved, call up the Key item and use the virtual

keyboard to enter the key used in your network.

> Then select the Connect item to connect to the WLAN network.

5.2.2 Entering a WLAN network manually

If the automatic WLAN scan called up from the menu does not locate a WLAN network (or not the correct one), you can select its encryption method manually and enter its SSID manually.

> Access manual entry for a WLAN network by selecting the Enter SSID manually

item.

5.2.2.1 Encryption

> Select the encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA2 or none) corresponding to your network.

5.2.2.2 SSID

Each WLAN network has a configurable SSID (Service Set Identifier) in the access point/ router (base station) The SSID represents the name of the network for the purpose of identifying it and being able to access it specifically.

> In the SSID line, use the virtual keyboard to enter the name of your network.

5.2.2.3 Network key

> Access the Key item and use the virtual keyboard to enter the key used in your

network.

> Then select the Connect item to connect to the WLAN network.

5.2.3 TCP/IP - settings

> Call up the TCP/IP - Settings item to select the IP mode, enter the IP address, subnet

mask, gateway and DNS server if necessary and test the network connection.

5.2.3.1 IP mode

> In this line select the IP mode (Static, DHCP Client or DHCP Server) in which

the TV should operate.

There are settings for the following functions here:

Static In this setting the DHCP function is switched off. This means that the

5.2.3.2 IP address

> Under this item, enter the IP address corresponding to your network.

5.2.3.3 Subnet mask

> Under this item, enter the subnet mask corresponding to your network.

5.2.3.4 Gateway

> In this line, enter the gateway corresponding to your network.

5.2.3.5 DNS server 1 / DNS server 2

> In these two lines enter the DNS server 1 and, if necessary, the DNS server 2 as well.

5.2.3.6 Check network connection / Internet speed

> In the Network connection line, call up the Check item to test whether a

connection to your router can be established using the previously configured settings.

If a is displayed next to the values, the test was successful. The speed is also

displayed for the gateway and the DNS server(s).

If an error occurred in testing one of the settings, this is displayed on the screen with

the corresponding error message.

> Using the green function key (Check again), you can relaunch the network

connection test.

> By pressing the yellow function key (Test speed), you can launch the Internet

During the test the progress - and after the test the result - are displayed on the

5.3 Internet

In this menu your can create settings relating to Internet use on the TV.

> Call up Main Menu > Settings > Special functions > Internet

5.3.1 Store cookies

> Use the settings until expiration date, until switched off and until the

expiry date to select how long cookies should be saved for.

5.3.2 Untrusted SSL certificates

> Select whether unsecure SSL certificates should be permitted (on) or denied (off).

5.3.3 HTTP proxy

> Select whether the Internet connection should be via a proxy server (on) or not (off).

5.3.4 IP address

> Enter the IP address if a proxy server is enabled.

5.3.5 Port number

> Enter the port number if a proxy server is enabled.

5.3.6 Zoom

> Enter the zoom factor for web applications here.

5.3.7 Browser navigation

> In this section, select whether navigation on the Internet should be via a mouse cursor

or by highlighting links.

With Mouse navigation, primarily using a keyboard with a trackball (e.g. the

TechniSat ISIOControl keyboard, part no. 001/3850) makes sense. On the other hand, link navigation is recommended for use with a remote control.

5.3.8 Search engine

> In this line, select the search engine that should be accessed when selecting the

search function.

5.3.9 HbbTV

HbbTV (Hybrid broadcast broadband TV) is a technology that enables contextual linking of broadcast and Internet content. Hence added-value services from programme providers can be used.

> Select whether you want to use (on) HbbTV or not (off).

5.4 Remote access

The Remote Access function enables you to access the TV from, for example, a PC or an Internet-enabled mobile phone via a local network or via the Internet, and to set, edit or delete timers.

If remote access will only be used via a local network, all you need to do is enable it

(as in section 5.4.1) and enter a password (as in section 5.4.2).

If remote access should also be possible via the Internet, a user account with a DNS

service is required and the port number must be entered (as in section 5.4.3) under which remote access to the network should be established.

Furthermore, for direct access (e.g. with an Internet connection via DSL modem) the

dynamic DNS service, host name and user name must be selected or entered on the TV as in sections 5.4.5 - 5.4.6. If the Internet connection is established via a router, the data must be entered in the router.

Furthermore so-called port forwarding for the IP address entered under section 5.1.2

or 5.2.3.2 must be set up for the port number set up in section 5.4.3.

Pay careful attention to the DNS service's instructions and the instructions for the

modem or router for accessing the Internet.

> Go to Main Menu > Settings > Special Functions > Remote Access to

enable and configure the remote access function.

If remote access should also be available when the MultyVision ISIO is on standby, the

fast start function must be enabled.

5.4.1 Enabling/Disabling remote access

> In the Remote Access line, switch the function on or off.

The following settings (sections 5.4.2 - 5.4.6) can only be selected if remote access is enabled.

5.4.2 Password

> Use the virtual keyboard to enter the password you want.

A password must always be entered if the remote access function is enabled.

5.4.3 Port number

By entering the port number you can specify which port number should be used for remote

access to the TV in the network.

> Enter the port number corresponding to the router.

When entering a different port number, this must be greater than 1024. To make unauthorised access harder, you should change the port number.

5.4.4 Dynamic DNS service

> In the Dynamic DNS service line, select one of the supported DNS services.

5.4.5 Host name

> Use the virtual keyboard to enter the host name you defined when setting up the

DNS service user account.

5.4.6 User name

> Use the virtual keyboard to enter the user name for the DNS service user account.

5.5 UPnP server

This function enables you to use UPnP-compatible devices that are located on the same network as your MultyVision ISIO to access films, pictures and music located on a storage medium configured as per section 5.5.4 via the MultyVision ISIO's UPnP server.

If the UPnP server should also be available when the MultyVision ISIO is on standby,

the fast start function must be enabled in Main Menu > Settings > Basic Settings .

> Call up Main Menu > Settings > Special Functions > UPnP Server.

5.5.1 Enabling/Disabling the UPnP server

> In the UPnP Server line, switch the function on or off.

The following settings (sections 5.5.2 - 5.5.6) can only be selected if the UPnP server

is enabled.

5.5.2 Configuration via HTTP

> In this line, select whether you want to carry out the UPnP server configuration via the

web browser on your PC or in this menu.

If configuration via HTTP is switched off, this is limited to selection of the storage

medium (internal hard disk, inserted USB storage device or inserted SD/MMC card), from which data should be made available via UPnP (section 5.5.4).

If the function is switched on, you can create far more extensive settings by calling up

the media server page in your browser. Do this by entering the device IP address followed by the port number shown under section 5.5.3.

Input examples:

> Then click on the Twonkey Media Settings item in the browser to launch the

configuration.

To play films, pictures and music via the PC or a mobile phone, also enter the device

IP address followed by the port number shown under section 5.5.3; then click on one of the media browser items shown.

5.5.3 Port number

> Enter another port number in this line, if desired/necessary.

This item is only available if configuration via HTTP is enabled (section 5.5.2).

5.5.4 UPnP medium

> In this line, select the storage medium (internal hard disk, inserted USB storage device

or inserted SD/MMC card) from which the films, pictures and music should be retrieved.

Only storage media that are actually attached can be selected.

As the data is not copied to the TV's internal hard disk, it can only be retrieved as long

as the storage medium is connected.

5.5.5 Share name

> In this line you can use the virtual keyboard to enter the name under which your

MultyVision ISIO should be displayed in other UPnP-compatible devices.

5.6 HDMI TechniLink

The HDMI TechniLink function can be used to switch your MultyVision ISIO on or off via devices attached to the HDMI inputs.

The HDMI output can be used to enable your MultyVision ISIO to switch other AV devices on or off and control their volume level.

> Call up Main Menu > Settings > Special Functions > HDMI TechniLink.

5.6.1 Enabling/Disabling the HDMI TechniLink

> Switch the function on or off in this line.

5.6.2 Switching on automatically

> Switch the function on or off in the Switch-on Autom. line.

5.6.3 Switching off automatically

> Switch the function on or off in the Switch-off Autom. line.

5.6.4 Volume control

> In this line, select between Mode 1 and Mode 2 or switch the function off altogether.

With the Mode 1 setting, the volume adjustment can only be forwarded to the

amplifier if it supports the HDMI standard and has been recognised.

In the Mode 2 setting the volume setting is always forwarded to the amplifier, even if

this has not been recognised as an HDMI-CEC-compatible device and thus the function may not be supported.

6 Operating the unit

6.1 Switching the TV on and off

6.1.1 Switching on using the mains power switch on the television

> Switch on the television by pressing in the mains power switch.

The TV now performs an initialisation and cannot be operated during this time. This

process can take a few seconds depending on the number of DVR recordings on the hard drive.

6.1.2 Switching on from standby mode

> Switch on the television by pressing the On/Standby button on the remote control,

or by holding down the On/Standby sensor on the television for 2 seconds, or by pressing the Programme +/- buttons on the remote control, or by holding down the Programme +/- sensor on the television for 2 seconds, or by pressing a number key from 0 to 9 on the remote control.

The operating status is indicated by the green LED, provided this is activated.

If the user-dependent parental control (TechniFamily) has been enabled, the user

selection now appears as per section 6.1.3.

6.1.3 Switching off to standby mode

> Switch off the device by pressing the On/Standby button on the remote control or by

holding down the On/Standby sensor on the television for 2 seconds.

When switching off the TV, please note that it checks whether a new operating

software version or channel list is available. This process takes several seconds to complete. The LCD panel is already switched off during the test.

The device switches completely into standby mode after completion of the test. The TV

is now in standby mode and can be completely switched off using the mains power switch. In standby mode the LED lights up red or the time appears in the display, provided that this is activated in the main menu under Settings > Basic Settings.

6.1.4 Switching off using the mains power switch on the television

> The television is switched off completely by pressing the mains power switch.

The device notes the last switching status (On or Off) entered using the remote

control or the television buttons.

If a power failure occurs during operation, you should switch off the television using

the mains power switch so that it is not switched on again unintentionally as soon as the power is available again.

You should only switch the television off from standby mode using the mains power

switch to avoid damage to files or the hard drive.

6.2 Channel selection

6.2.1 Using the channel up/down buttons

> You can switch between channels one at a time using the Channel +/- buttons on

the remote control or on the TV.

6.2.2 Using the numeric pad keys

> Use the numeric keypad keys to enter the number of the channel you want.

For example:

1 for channel slot 1 1, then 4 for channel slot 14 2, then 3, then 4 for channel slot 234 1, then 2, then 4, then 5 for channel slot 1245

When entering channel numbers with multiple digits, you have approx. three seconds

after pressing a key to complete the entry.

If you wish to enter a one, two or three-digit number, you can accelerate the switching

process by holding down the last digit for longer, or by pressing the OK button.

6.2.3 Using the TV list

> Press the OK button.

The TV channel list appears in television mode and the radio channel list in radio mode. The channel currently selected is highlighted.

> You can view additional data about the current programme by pressing the Info

button.

6.2.3.1 Selecting the channel

> You can now highlight the channel you want using the up/down arrow keys, the page

up/down keys and the numeric keypad keys .

> Exit the Navigator by the pressing the OK button; the highlighted channel is displayed

on the screen.

6.2.3.2 Selecting a list

To make it easier for you to find channels, your TV provides various channel lists. You can select your favourites lists or display the channels sorted alphabetically from the list of All channels, the TV provider lists or according to genre.

> Press the OK button to open the active channel list.

> You can now use the Options selection feature to select the channel list you want

(favourite lists, All channels, TV-provider lists and TV-Genre lists).

> Highlight the channel you want to watch as described under section 6.2.3.1 and

confirm by pressing the OK button.

6.2.4 Selecting a regional programme

During the initial installation you selected your preferred regional programmes. If you now pick one of these regional programmes, a note appears stating that further regional programmes are available for selection.

> Using the Options selection you can select between the various regional

programmes under the Region item.

The selected regional programme is now stored as a preferred regional programme

from this programme provider.

6.2.5 Switching between TV/radio

> You can use the TV/Radio button to switch between TV and radio mode.

The television switches to the last radio programme listened to.

Alternatively you can also switch between TV and radio mode as described under

section 6.17.

In doing so, also note the setting for OSD radio/music in the main menu under

Settings > Special Functions > OSD.

6.3 AV source

> Press the AV button to open the AV sources selection window and select a device

connected to the HDMI inputs (HDMI (front), HDMI 1 / 2), component input (YPbPr), Scart socket (EuroAV), VGA port (VGA), or front AV port (A/V (front)) on the TV.

> Select the source you want using the up/down arrow keys and confirm by pressing

the OK button to switch over to the selected input.

In doing so note sections 6.2.1 - 6.2.3 of the quick start manual.

6.4 Channel/source information

6.4.1 Info box

An Info box appears on the screen for the set period every time you change channels.

The channel slot and name as well as the source of the channel selected, the channel list in which the channel is located and the title of the current programme with the start/end time and the progress bar, as well as further channel information (e.g. for teletext, for 16:9 transmissions, for subtitles, for encrypted channels or for Dolby Digital broadcasts) are shown in this Info box.

The progress bars are coloured yellow according to the amount of transmission time

already expired for the current programme. If the beginning of the progress bar is coloured red the transmission started too early and if the end of the progress bar is coloured red the current programme has overrun.

The current time is shown in the right-hand upper corner of the screen.

6.4.2 Displaying the clock and channel information

This function allows you to see channel information about the channel being watched.

> Pressing the Info button allows the information mentioned in section 6.4.1 to be

displayed again for the set period.

6.5 Receiving encrypted channels

> Insert the CONAX Smartcard into the card slot in the integrated card reader. (align the

gold-coloured chip forwards and in the direction of insertion)

> Insert a CI-/CI+- module with the upper side pointing to the rear in the slot.

> Insert the smartcard into the CI / CI+ module card slot.

6.5.1 Smartcard PIN code

With encrypted channels, programmes that are not suitable for children can be pre-blocked by means of a parental control code/symbol. To unblock the specific programme it is necessary to enter the Smartcard PIN code stored on the Smartcard.

> To release the programme, use the numeric keypad to enter the 4-digit

Smartcard PIN code.

6.6 Volume control

After switching on the television, sound is produced according to the power-on volume set using the Sound settings menu.

> To adjust the volume of your TV, press Volume + to increase the volume, and

Volume - to decrease it.

6.6.1 Using mute

> To switch the sound off (mute), press the Sound on/off button - press the key again

to switch the sound back on.

6.6.2 Headphone volume

> While the sound is muted it is possible to operate the Loudness + and Loudness -

rocker keys to adjust the headphones volume.

6.7 Selecting a different language / sound option

For some channels you have the option of selecting a different sound option (Dolby Digital, Stereo or Audio Channel 1 or Audio Channel 2) or another language.

> Using the Options selection feature you can select the language/sound option you

want via the Sound option.

6.8 Sound mode

You have the option of using sound mode selection while operating to switch between the preset sound modes neutral, film, music and language as well as the fully configurable, user-defined sound mode.

> You can select the sound you want using the sound mode item in the Options

selection.

6.9 Display mode

You can use the display mode selection option to switch between the preset display modes during actual operation: Economic (home), Natural (standard), Intensive

(presentation), Movie (cinema) and PC (graphic), as well as the fully customisable user-defined display mode.

> You can select the sound you want using the sound mode item in the Options

selection.

6.10 Subtitles

When switching to a programme being broadcast with subtitles, the subtitles symbol appears in the Info box.

> Using the Subtitles menu item in the Options selection, you can select subtitles

when you want to display them.

6.11 Teletext

Your TV can display teletext information on channels that broadcast teletext data. This is displayed by the

symbol in the Info box.

6.11.1 Switching teletext on/off

> Press the Teletext button to switch on teletext for the currently selected channel

along with its overview page.

> You can exit Videotext by pressing the Back button.

6.11.2 Page selection

> Use the numeric keypad keys 0 to 9 to enter the 3-digit page number of the

teletext page you want.

> Use the coloured function keys to call up the pages displayed in the respective fields.

6.12 Format switchover / Zoom

> Pressing the Zoom/Format button allows you to select the various pre-defined

formats (original, optimum, optimum 16:9, full zoom and stretch) as well as the user-defined setting, where you can adjust the picture as you wish.

The following options are available to adjust the picture according to your personal

preference:

red function key increase the picture height green function key decrease the picture height yellow function key increase the picture width blue function key decrease the picture width up/down arrow key move the picture upwards (only where picture height

has been increased)

down arrow key move the picture downwards (only where picture height

has been increased)

OK button select zoom levels left arrow key reset user-defined format setting

6.13 PiP / PaP function

Your television is equipped with both the PiP function (PiP = Picture in Picture), and the PaP function (PaP = Picture and Picture).

6.13.1 Calling up the PiP / PaP function

> You can switch on the PiP or the PaP function by pressing the PiP / PaP button.

6.13.2 Toggling PiP / PaP pictures

> You can toggle between the two pictures by pressing the Back button.

The PiP/PaP picture becomes the main picture and vice versa.

6.13.3 Exiting the PiP / PaP function

> You can exit the PiP/PaP function by pressing the PiP / PaP button or by pressing the

TV/Radio button.

6.14 Freeze frame

> The television picture is displayed as freeze frame by pressing the Freeze frame

button.

> Freeze frame is ended by pressing this button again; normal playback appears on the

television screen again.

The sound will continue to be reproduced normally during freeze frame.

6.15 Sleep timer

You can set the switch-off time of your TV using the sleep timer.

> You can set the sleep timer by pressing the Sleep timer button a number of times

(15 minutes to 120 minutes) or to switch it off.

6.16 SFIplus programme guide

Your TV has a "SiehFern Info Plus" electronic programme guide. You can use this to display programme information for one or multiple digital channels on the screen and to obtain a very quick overview of the current programmes, or programmes being broadcast that day, or on following days.

> Press the SFI button to call up the electronic programme guide.

The electronic programme guide appears in the preset start category. The Overview

start category is selected in the factory settings.

1 Viewing time > indicates when programmes are to be shown. Time line > a graphical

display of the viewing time in the form of progress bars.

2 Channel name with the corresponding channel slot within the active favourites list.

3 Progress bars or the start/stop time of the programme being shown.

4 The current date and the time.

5 Indicates that there is further information available about the broadcast.

6 Programmes on the channel being shown.

> You can access the various SFIplus views and functions using the Options

selection as well as via the assigned function key located at the lower edge of the

screen.

> You can switch the display time back and forth or move the highlight using the right/

left arrow keys, the up/down arrow keys and the page up/down button.

> You can exit the electronic programme guide again by pressing the SFI button.

6.17 Selecting a function

> You can open the Navigation menu (NAV menu) to select the function you want by

pressing the function selection button.

6.18 HbbTV

> Switch to a channel that is broadcasting HbbTV data.

> Launch the HbbTV application by pressing the red function key.

Display and use of the HbbTV application is determined by the data received.

Generally it is basically operated as described below.

> In the HbbTV application you can use the arrow keys or the keys displayed there to

move the highlight.

> You can use the OK button to confirm the highlighted item and call this up, as long as

the highlighted item has additional subitems.

> You can exit the HbbTV application by pressing the Back button or by pressing the

colour button displayed in the application itself.

When using this please be sure to note the messages and displays on the screen as

well as sections 5.3.9 and 5.1 or 5.2 of the quick start manual.

6.20 Internet

Your device can use an existing broadband connection to access the Internet. To do this the TV must be connected to the home network/DSL router via either LAN or WLAN.

Internet access provides you with various Internet functions such as unrestricted browsing, use of interactive services, video on demand and the new ISIO Live TechniSat service portal.

When using this please be sure to note the messages and displays on the screen as

well as sections 5.3 and 5.1 or 5.2 of the quick start manual.

A pre-programmed Internet list makes it easier to call up a few websites of interest to

you. This list can be expanded and amended how you want.

To ensure trouble-free display of moving pictures, a minimum bandwidth of 3Mbit/s

must be available. If the bandwidth is less, this can cause interruptions (jerky or static images). This is not the result of a TV malfunction.

6.20.1 Using the Internet list to call up websites

> From normal mode press the WWW button once or, if a website is open, press the

WWW button again.

The Internet List Navigator now appears. The last web link accessed is highlighted and

loaded in the background.

6.20.1.1 Selecting a link

> You can now highlight the web link you want using the up/down arrow keys, the

page up/down keys and the numeric keypad keys.

> Press the OK button to open the highlighted web link.

The time it takes for the selected page to be displayed depends on the page selected

and the bandwidth of your DSL connection.

6.20.1.2 Selecting a list

Your TV provides various Internet lists to make it easier for you to find web links. You can select and display all your configured Favourite lists as per section 13..

> Use the Internet lists item in the Options selection to select the Internet list you

want.

6.20.1.3 Filtering by genre

> Use the Options selection feature to call up the Genre filters item and use the

up/down arrow keys to highlight the genre by which you want to filter the list.

> Pressing the OK button filters the list according to the selected genre.

Multiple genre filters can be used at the same time. A filter that is already set up is

indicated by a checkmark on the left hand side.

To delete a genre filter that has already been activated, proceed as when activating the

filter and highlight the filter to be removed.

6.20.2 Calling up web pages by entering a URL

In addition to the option of selecting web links, you can call up the websites you want by manually entering the address/URL (Uniform Resource Locator) using the virtual keyboard.

> From normal mode press the WWW button once or, if a website is open, press the

WWW button again.

> In the Options selection, select the Enter URL item under the Navigation

option.

6.20.3 Navigating the opened website

> After the website you want has been loaded and displayed, either a colour-highlighted

area/term/text or a mouse cursor appears somewhere on the screen.

> You can use the arrow keys to move the highlight/frame, or the cursor, to the areas

provided (e.g. a forwarding link, a button, dropdown list etc).

> The associated action is accepted by pressing the OK button.

> By pressing the Back button you can page backwards through previous pages, and

by pressing the Info button you can page forwards to subsequent pages.

If, for example, you are using the TechniSat ISIOControl keyboard (part no. 0001/3850)

and mouse navigation has been enabled under section 5.3.7 of the quick start manual, you can also use the so-called trackball on the keyboard to control the cursor on the screen, designed to make Internet use considerably more convenient.

6.20.4 Using tabs

To make it faster and easier to switch between websites you have visited during a single session, you can create up to three different tabs.

The tabs are closed when that particular session ends.

> To open a new tab, go to the Options selection and select the New tab item

under the Tabs option.

> To jump to an existing tab, highlight it in the options selection under the Tabs

option and confirm with OK.

6.20.5 Updating page content

> To do this, select the Update item in the options selection to reload the web page

currently being displayed.

6.20.6 Cancelling the load process

> To cancel or interrupt the loading of a web page, use the Options selection to

select the Cancel item.

6.20.7 Adding a favourite to the Internet list

Frequently used websites can be added to the Internet list to make it easier to access them later.

> First use the URL entry to call up the website you want to add to the Internet list as a

favourite.

> Then in the Options selection select the Add to favourites item.

The link to the website you have called up is added to the end of the Internet list and

can be moved to any position in the list, moved to other favourites lists and renamed.

6.20.8 Search engine

> By using the Options selection to call up the Search item, the search engine web

page selected in section 5.3.8 of the instruction manual is automatically called up.

6.20.9 Status

> Under the Status option in the Options selection, select the general status or

the Security status item to display various technical details concerning the active website.

6.20.10 Ending Internet use

> To switch from a web page you have called up back to normal mode, press the WWW

button three times or press the TV/Radio button.

7 Operating the DVR

The DVR function (DVR = Digital Video Recorder) means you no longer have to use an external recorder (e.g. video or DVD recorder) to record programmes, as you can use this function to record them to the internal hard disk.

DVR recordings of programmes can be made from sources such as DVB-S, DVB-C,

DVB-T and analogue CT as well as the external sources A/V (front) and EuroAV.

When doing so, be sure to note the notes and settings under section 7 of the quick

start guide.

7.1 DVR recording

The following recording modes are available for DVR recording:

1. Instant recording

Select this type of recording to immediately record the programme currently being broadcast at the push of a button.

2. Timer-controlled recording

This function is used to ensure that your television is switched on and off again for the selected broadcast to make a recording, for example when you are out. You can do this by programming the timer either manually or automatically, using the SFIplus.

3. Timeshift recording

Timeshift recording enables time-shifted TV viewing. You can start to play back a programme while it is still recording (= time-shifting).

7.1.1 Instant recording

> Switch on the programme/source you want to record.

> Press the Record button to record the current programme.

> Press the Pause / Playback button to play back the current programme from a

particular point.

> To continue playing back the programme from this point, press the Pause /

Playback button again.

7.1.2 TimeShift recording

> If you are watching a programme and are interrupted by a telephone call, for example,

you can press the Pause / Playback button to pause the programme and to start recording it at the same time.

> Press the Pause / Playback button again to resume programme playback from the

same place. You are now watching the programme with a time delay to the live broadcast (Timeshift), while the programme continues to be recorded in the background.

7.1.3 Ending manual recording

> First select the recording to be ended by selecting the channel on which the recording

is running as described under section 6.2 of the quick start manual.

> Pressing the Stop button generates a query as to whether the recording should be

saved or discarded.

> Select Store to save the recording, or Discard not to save the recording, or Back to

continue with the recording.

7.1.4 Ending recording automatically

> Pressing the Record button causes a window to open containing all available

functions.

> You can, for example, select +1 hour so the TV will continue to record the channel for

this period and then automatically stop recording.

7.1.5 Timer recordings

7.2 DVR playback

You can access your DVR recordings using the DVR Navigator.

7.2.1 Calling up the DVR Navigator

The DVR Navigator can be called up in the following ways. Depending on whether you are in TV or radio mode, a list appears with all the TV or radio recordings present on the internal hard disk.

The broadcast information can be displayed and hidden by repeatedly pressing the

Info button.

7.2.1.1 When in TV mode

> In TV mode press the Stop / DVR button to switch directly to the DVR Navigator.

> Open the programme lists navigator by pressing the OK button and switch to the DVR

Navigator by pressing the Stop / DVR button.

> In the function selection select the Movies / DVR item.

> Now call up the My recordings folder.

7.2.1.2 From playback of a running / existing DVR recording

> Press the OK button to open the DVR Navigator.

> In the function selection select the Movies / DVR item.

> Now call up the My recordings folder.

7.2.2 Pause / Freeze frame

> To pause playback of a recording (freeze frame), press the Pause / Playback button

during playback.

> Press the Pause / Playback button again to resume playback from the same

location.

7.2.3 Fast forward / Rewind

Your DVR has fast forward/rewind functions so you can get to a specific place in a recording.

> During playback press the Fast forward or Rewind button.

The uu or ⊳⊳ sign appears in the small info box mentioned before. The recording is played back at 4x speed in the selected direction.

> If you press the Fast forward or Fast rewind button again, the speed will increase

to 16x and the message uuu or ⊳⊳⊳ appears.

> If you press the Fast forward or Fast rewind button again, the speed will increase

to 64x and the message uuuu or ⊳⊳⊳⊳ appears.

> Pressing the Fast forward or Fast rewind button again causes you to jump

forwards or backwards in 10 minute increments.

> When you get to the place you want in the recording, you can return to normal playing

mode by pressing the Pause / Playbackback button.

7.2.4 Jogshuttle function

> During playback press the Jogshuttle button (freeze frame) to access jogshuttle

mode. Playback of the recording is halted (freeze frame) and uII is displayed in the Info box.

> If the right/left arrow keys are pressed a number of times you can change the

speed and direction of playback in accordance with the displays and speeds shown above.

> Pressing the up arrow key or the down arrow key causes the next frame

forwards or backwards to be shown.

7.2.5 Skipping to tags

During playback you have the option of navigating directly to locations in the recording where you have set tags.

> Using the Tag menu item in the Options selection, select the tag to skip to the

location you want in the recording.

7.2.6 Ending playback

> Press the Stop button to end playback.

Playback will end and your TV will return to TV mode. In doing so the television "notices" the place in the recording where playback ended. If you start playing this recording back again, it will automatically resume at the point where you previously left off.

your legal obligation to prove that the item was faulty, for a period of three years from the purchase of

your equipment (based on the billing date). In the event of a claim under warranty, you will receive - at

TechniSat's discretion - a free repair of your equipment or an as-new equivalent replacement device. To

be sure of enjoying your guarantee in full, make absolutely sure that only original TechniSat accessories

(such as cables, plugs etc) are used during installation.

Invalidation of the warranty claim

All warranty claims are invalidated if the equipment interior is accessed by anyone other than TechniSat

or if the equipment is modified (e.g. by hardware or software modifications). Service under warranty shall

also not apply in the event of damage caused by incorrect installation or improper use, or in the event

that manufacturer's numbers have been changed or rendered illegible, or mechanical damage has been

caused by accident or impact. The guarantee does not cover compensation or expenses, specifically not

loss of data, e.g. channel lists that have been set up or recordings on hard disks.
