Features

This portable headphone amplifier with a built-in USB DAC supports both
Apple iOS and Android products. Using asynchronous mode that supports
96kHz/24-bit audio over USB, this unit can convert signals from digital to
analog accurately using its built-in high-precision clock to enable playback of
high-resolution audio contents.
Moreover, AOA 2.0 connection, which enables audio playback at CD quality
(44.1kHz/16-bit), is supported for devices running Android 4.1 or later. (This
does not guarantee operation with all Android devices.)
In addition to USB inputs, this unit also has an analog/optical digital input jack,
enabling support for input from a variety of devices.

o Always use the USB cable that was included with the iPod, iPhone or iPad

port. Operation cannot be guaranteed when using a non-genuine cable.

Placement precautions

o Do not put anything on top of the unit.
o Avoid placing the unit in direct sunlight or close to any source of heat,

such as a radiator, heater, open fireplace or amplifier. Also avoid loca­tions that are subject to vibrations or exposed to excessive dust, cold or
moisture.

o Place the unit in a stable location near the audio system that you will use

with it.

o The voltage supplied to the unit should match the voltage printed on

the rear panel. If you are in any doubt regarding this matter, consult an
electrician.

o Do not open the body of the unit as this might result in damage to the

circuitry or cause electric shock. If a foreign object should get into the unit,
contact your dealer.

o When removing the power plug from the wall outlet, always pull directly

on the plug; never yank on the cord.

Removing the rechargeable battery

Before removing the rechargeable battery, turn the unit on and drain the bat­tery until the unit completely stops operating.(If the automatic power saving
function activates, turn the unit off and on again.)

o To disassemble this unit, you will need a Phillips head screwdriver (#0) and

a 1.3mm hex key.

1 Remove the 6 screws from the sides of the unit.

2 Pull out the power/volume knob, and remove

the 2 screws that are attaching the front panel.

3 Remove the printed circuit board from the unit,

and then remove the 4 screws that are attaching
the chassis.

4 Disconnect the battery connector beneath the

chassis.

5 The lithium-ion battery and chassis are attached

using double-sided tape, so pull the battery
away from the chassis to remove it.

If you have questions about the handling of this
product, please contact the store where you pur­chased the unit.

Request regarding the disposal of this product

This product has a built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery.
When disposing of this product, please check with the shop
where you purchased it or a nearby government agency for
instructions about how to dispose of the battery.
Please follow local laws.

Instructions for removing the battery are provided for places
where laws require batteries to be removed.

This unit has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

o Charge it before using the unit the first time after purchase and after it has

not been used for a long time.

o Make sure the temperature of the surrounding environment is between

5−35°C when charging.
Charging might not occur properly outside this temperature range.

o A computer connected using the included USB cable can also charge

the unit.

o Always connect this unit and the computer directly. If connected through

a USB hub or other device, charging might not occur properly.

o When connected to a computer, charging might not start if the computer

does not recognize this unit as a valid USB device.

o An AC adapter (TASCAM/PS-P515U) that works with this unit is available

for purchase. Connect the included DC power supply cable to it to charge
the unit. The maximum current when charging is 1 A. Compared to
charging from a computer, the unit can be charged more rapidly by using
a DC power supply.

o When the included DC power supply cable and the USB cable for com-

puter connection are both connected, the unit will charge from the DC
power supply cable. Power will not be supplied from the computer in
this case.

POWER: This lights blue when the unit is on.

o After the unit has been on for 10 seconds, this indicator will

become unlit to prevent battery consumption.

o This indicator blinks when the remaining battery charge is low.

CHARGE: This lights red when the unit is charging. When charging com-

pletes, it will become unlit.

Connect a headphones plug (3.5mm stereo mini) to this jack.

CAUTION

Always minimize the volume before plugging headphones in and
putting them on. While wearing headphones, do not connect or discon­nect them or turn the unit on or off. Doing so could result in a sudden
loud noise that could harm your hearing.

Use this to change the output level to suit the headphones that you
are using.
H: high output level
L: low output level
Lower the volume before setting this switch to H.

CAUTION

Particularly when using headphones for the first time with this unit, set
the GAIN switch to L and be sure to raise the volume gradually during
playback to check the sound pressure sensitivity.

Power/volume knob

Turn this counterclockwise until it stops to turn the unit off.
Use this to adjust the volume. Turn this clockwise to turn the unit on.
Keep turning it clockwise to increase the volume. Turn it counterclock­wise to decrease the volume.

Automatic power saving (APS) function

This unit will enter sleep mode automatically under the following circumstances.

o When 30 minutes pass without audio input.
o When 30 minutes pass without headphones being plugged into the

PHONES jack.

CAUTION

To end sleep mode, turn the volume knob counterclockwise until the unit is
turned off.

follow their instructions.

o Do not bundle connection cables with the power cord. Doing so

could cause noise.

could cause the operation time of the battery to be significantly

Basic operation

1 Set the input switch according to the input

source.

2 Turn this unit on.

Set the volume at a low level.

3 Start playback on the selected input source

device.

4 Turn this unit's power/volume knob to adjust the

volume.

Download the latest firmware from the TEAC Global Site.
(If no firmware is listed, no firmware update is available.)

Troubleshooting

If you experience a problem with this unit, please check the following items
before requesting service. If it still does not operate correctly, contact the
retailer where you purchased the unit.

The unit does not turn on.

e If the remaining battery charge is too low, the unit will not turn on.

Supply power to the unit through the DC plug or the USB micro-B port.

e Has the automatic power saving function put the unit to sleep? Turn the

volume knob counterclockwise to turn the unit off once.

No sound is output.

e Use the volume knob to adjust the volume.
e Confirm that the input selection switch is set to the port connected to

the playback device that you are using.
e Confirm that the connected device is playing back.
e Confirm the PHONES jack connection.

à l’unité pour la recharger. Le courant maximal lors de la recharge est de

Voyants

A

POWER: il s’allume en bleu quand l’unité est mise sous tension.

o 10 secondes après la mise sous tension de l’unité, ce voyant s’éteint

pour éviter de décharger la batterie.

o Ce voyant clignote si la charge restante de la batterie est faible.

CHARGE: il est allumé en rouge quand l’unité se recharge. Une fois la

recharge terminée, il s’éteint.

Branchez à cette prise la fiche d’un casque (mini-jack 3,5mm stéréo).

ATTENTION

Réduisez toujours le volume au minimum avant de brancher un casque
et de le mettre. N’allumez/n’éteignez pas l’unité et ne branchez/débran­chez pas le casque quand vous portez ce dernier. Cela pourrait entraîner
un bruit fort et soudain risquant d’endommager votre audition.

ATTENTION

Lorsque vous utilisez pour la première fois un casque avec cette unité,
réglez le sélecteur GAIN sur L et veillez à monter progressivement le
volume durant la reproduction pour contrôler la sensibilité de pression
acoustique.

Bouton alimentation/volume

Tournez-le dans le sens antihoraire jusqu’à ce qu’il s’arrête pour éteindre
l’unité.
Utilisez-le pour régler le volume. Tournez-le dans le sens horaire pour
allumer l’unité. Continuez de le tourner dans le sens horaire pour
augmenter le volume. Tournez-le dans le sens antihoraire pour baisser
le volume.

Fonction d’économie automatique d’énergie

Cette unité passera automatiquement en mode de veille dans les circonstances
suivantes.

o Après 30 minutes sans entrée audio.
o Après 30 minutes sans casque connecté à la prise PHONES.

ATTENTION

Pour mettre fin au mode de veille, tournez le bouton de volume dans le sens
antihoraire jusqu’à ce que l’unité s’éteigne.

Fonctionnement de base

Retrait de la batterie rechargeable

Avant de retirer la batterie rechargeable, allumez l’unité et videz la batterie
jusqu’à ce que l’unité cesse complètement de fonctionner (si la fonction d’éco­nomie automatique d’énergie s’active, éteignez l’unité et rallumez-la).

o Pour démonter l’unité, il vous faut un tournevis cruciforme (n°0) et une clé

6 pans (hexagonale) de 1,3mm.

1 Retirez les 6 vis sur les côtés de l’unité.

2 Tirez sur le bouton d’alimentation/volume et

retirez les 2 vis qui maintiennent la face avant.

3 Retirez la carte de circuit i mprimé de l’unité puis

les 4 vis qui tiennent le châssis.

4 Débranchez le connecteur de la batterie sous le

un adhésif double face, aussi tirez sur la batterie
pour l’écarter du châssis.

Prestaciones

Este amplificador de auriculares portátil con convertidor DAC USB incorporado
es compatible con productos con sistema operativo Apple y Android. Usando
un modo asíncrono compatible con audio de 96 kHz/24 bits a través de USB,
puede convertir con fiabilidad señales digitales en analógicas gracias a su reloj
interno de gran precisión y así reproducir audio en alta resolución.
Así mismo, la conexión AOA 2.0, que permite la reproducción de audio con cali­dad de CD (44.1 kHz/16 bits), es compatible con dispositivos que funcionen con
sistema operativo Android 4.1 o posterior (esto no garantiza el funcionamiento

Cómo quitar la batería recargable

Antes de quitar la batería recargable, encienda la unidad y gaste la batería hasta
que la unidad deje de funcionar por completo (si se activa la función de ahorro
de energía automático, apague la unidad y vuelva a encenderla).

o Para desarmar esta unidad necesitará un destornillador de estrella (#0) y

una llave hexagonal de 1.3 mm.

1 Quite los 6 tornillos de los laterales de la unidad.

2 Tire y saque el mando de encendido/volumen, y

quite los 2 tornillos que sujetan el panel frontal.

Dieser portable Kopfhörerverstärker mit integriertem USB D/A-Wandler
unterstützt Apple iOS- und Android-Produkte. Durch Verwendung des
Asynchronmodus, der die Audiowiedergabe mit 96kHz/24-Bit unterstützt,
konvertiert der HA-P50/HA-P50SE analoge Signale akkurat in digitale Signale.
Seine interne Präzisions-Clock ermöglicht die Wiedergabe von Audioinhalten
mit hoher Auflösung.
Die Unterstützung von AOA 2.0-Verbindungen ermöglicht zudem die
Audiowiedergabe in CD-Qualität (44.1 kHz/16-Bit) mit Geräten, die unter

o Laden Sie den Akku vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme und nachdem Sie ihn

Wird die Verbindung über einen USB-Hub oder ein anderes Gerät hergestellt,

o Wird der HA-P50/HA-P50SE mit einem Computer verbunden, startet der

Ladevor gang möglicherweise nur dann, wenn der Computer den HA-P50/
HA-P50SE als gültiges USB-Gerät erkennt.

o Zur Schonung des Akkus erlischt die Anzeige, nachdem der HA-P50/

HA-P50SE bereits 10 Sekunden eingeschaltet ist.

o Die Anzeige blinkt, wenn die restliche Akkuladung gering ist.

CHARGE: Diese Anzeige leuchtet während des Ladevorgangs. Sobald

der Ladevorgang abgeschlossen ist, erlischt die Anzeige.

PHONES (Kopfhörerbuchse)

Schließen Sie einen Kopfhörer mit 3,5mm Stereo-Mini-Klinkenstecker an
dieser Buchse an.

VORSICHT

Minimieren Sie vor dem Anschließen sowie Aufsetzen eines Kopf hörers
die Wiedergabelautstärke. Schließen Sie den Kopfhörer während des
Tragens nicht an, trennen Sie ihn nicht vom HA-P50/HA-P50SE und
schalten Sie den Kopfhörerverstärker nicht ein oder aus. Andernfalls
können unerwartet auftretende, hohe Pegel Ihr Gehör schädigen.

Überprüfen der Schalldruckempfindlichkeit anschließend, während der
Wiedergabe, allmählich die Wiedergabelautstärke.

Ein-/Ausschalt-/Lautstärkeregler

Zum Ausschalten des HA-P50/HA-P50SE drehen Sie diesen Regler bis
zum An schlag gegen den Uhrzeigersinn.
Mit Hilfe dieses Reglers kontrollieren Sie die Wiedergabelautstärke. Drehen
Sie den Regler zum Einschalten des HA-P50/HA-P50SE im Uhrzeigersinn.
Weiteres Drehen im Uhrzeigersinn erhöht die Wiedergabelaut stärke.
Drehen gegen den Uhrzeigersinn reduziert die Wiedergabe lautstärke.

Automatische Energiesparfunktion (APS)

Unter folgenden Umständen wird der HA-P50/HA-P50SE automatisch in den
Standby-Modus versetzt:

o nachdem 30 Minuten lang kein Audiosignal empfangen wurde.
o nachdem 30 Minuten verstrichen sind, ohne dass ein Kopfhörer an der

PHONES-Buchse angeschlossen war.

ACHTUNG

Zum Beenden des Standby-Modus drehen Sie den Lautstärkeregler gegen den
Uhrzeigersinn, bis der HA-P50/HA-P50SE ausgeschaltet ist.

Der HA-P50/HA-P50SE lässt sich nicht einschalten.

e Bei zu geringer Akkurestladung lässt sich der HA-P50/HA-P50SE nicht ein-

schalten. Versorgen Sie den HA-P50/HA-P50SE über den Netzadapter oder
einen am USB Mikro-B-Port angeschlossenen Computer mit Spannung.

e Falls die automatische Energiesparfunktion den HA-P50/HA-P50SE in den

Standby-Modus versetzt hat, schalten Sie den HA-P50/HA-P50SE aus, indem

Entfernen des wiederaufladbaren Akkus

Schalten Sie vor dem Entfernen des wiederaufladbaren Akkus den HA-P50/
HA-P50SE ein. Lassen Sie ihn so lang eingeschaltet, bis der Akku entladen ist
und der Kopfhörerverstärker jegliche Funktion einstellt. (Falls die automatische
Energiesparfunktion aktiviert wird, schalten Sie den HA-P50/HA-P50SE aus und
anschließend wieder ein.)

o Zum Zerlegen des HA-P50/HA-P50SE wird ein Kreuzschlitzschraubendreher

(#0) sowie ein 1,3 mm Inbusschlüssel benötigt.

1 Entfernen Sie die sechs seitlich im Gehäuse be-

ndlichen Schrauben.

2 Ziehen Sie den Drehkopf des Ein-/Ausschalt-/

Lautstärkereglers heraus und entfernen Sie die
beiden Schrauben der Frontblendenhalterung.

Caratteristiche

Questo amplificatore per cuffie portatile con un DAC USB incorporato supporta
sia i prodotti Apple iOS che Android. Utilizzando la modalità asincrona che sup­porta 96kHz/24 bit audio su USB, questa unità è in grado di convertire i segnali
da digitale ad analogico con precisione utilizzando il proprio clock incorporato
ad alta precisione per consentire la riproduzione di contenuti audio ad alta
risoluzione.
Inoltre, la connessione AOA 2.0, che permette la riproduzione audio con qua­lità CD (44.1 kHz/16 bit), è supportata per i dispositivi con sistema operativo

Rimozione della batteria ricaricabile

Prima di rimuovere la batteria ricaricabile, accendere l’unità e scaricare la batte­ria fino a quando l’unità si arresta completamente (se la funzione automatica di
risparmio energetico si attiva, spegnere l’unità e riaccenderla).

o Per smontare l’unità, avrete bisogno di un cacciavite a croce (# 0) ed una

chiave esagonale da 1,3 millimetri.

1 Rimuovere le 6 viti dai lati dell’unità.

2 Estrarre la manopola di alimentazione/volume,

e rimuovere le due viti di ssaggio del pannello
anteriore.

Functies

Deze draagbare hoofdtelefoonversterker met een ingebouwde USB DAC
biedt ondersteuning voor zowel Apple iOS- als Android-producten. Via de
asynchrone modus die ondersteuning biedt voor 96 kHz/24-bit audio over USB
en de ingebouwde precisieklok (die weergave van audiocontent met hoge
resolutie mogelijk maakt) kan dit apparaat signalen nauwkeurig van digitaal
naar analoog converteren.
Bovendien wordt een AOA 2.0-verbinding voor apparatuur met Android 4.1 of

POWER: si illumina in blu quando l’unità è accesa.

o Dopo che l’unità è acceso da 10 secondi, l’indicatore si spegnerà

per prevenire il consumo della batteria.

o Questo indicatore lampeggia quando la carica residua della batteria

CHARGE: si illumina in rosso quando l’unità è in carica. Dopo il comple-

Risoluzione dei problemi

Se si verifica un problema con questa unità, controllare i seguenti punti prima

o Open de behuizing van het apparaat niet, omdat dit kan leiden tot schade

aan de interne elektronica of een elektrische schok kan veroorzaken. Als
er een vreemd object in het apparaat terechtkomt, neem dan contact op
met uw dealer.

o Trek het netsnoer altijd aan de stekker uit het stopcontact en trek hierbij

niet aan het snoer.

Dit apparaat heeft een ingebouwde oplaadbare lithium-ionaccu.

o Laad de accu op als u het apparaat voor het eerst na aankoop gat gebrui-

ken, en nadat het apparaat lange tijd niet gebruikt is.

o Nadat het apparaat 10 seconden aan is geweest, gaat deze indica-

LET OP

Minimaliseer het geluidsvolume altijd voordat u de hoofdtelefoon

niet aansluiten of loskoppelen. Ook mag u het apparaat niet in- of uit­schakelen. Hierdoor kunnen onverwachte luide geluiden ontstaan die

LET OP

Vooral als u voor het eerst een hoofdtelefoon met dit apparaat gebruikt,
moet u de GAIN-schakelaar op L zetten en het volume tijdens de weer­gave geleidelijk verhogen om de geluidsdrukgevoeligheid te controleren.

Aan-/uit-/volumeknop

Om het apparaat uit te schakelen, draait u deze knop tegen de klok in
totdat u niet meer verder kunt.
Hiermee wordt het geluidsvolume aangepast. Draai deze knop met de
klok mee om het apparaat in te schakelen. Blijf met de klok meedraaien
om het volume te verhogen. Draai deze knop tegen de klok in om het
volume te verlagen.

Automatische energiespaarstand (APS)

Dit apparaat gaat in de volgende omstandigheden automatisch naar slaapstand.

o Als er 30 minuten lang geen audioinvoer is.
o Als er 30 minuten lang geen hoofdtelefoon in de PHONES-uitgang zit.

LET OP

Om de slaapstand te beëindigen, draait u de volumeknop tegen de klok in
totdat het apparaat wordt uitgeschakeld.

Problemen oplossen

Als u een probleem met dit apparaat ervaart, controleer dan eerst de volgende
onderdelen alvorens service aan te vragen. Als er nog steeds niet correct werkt,
neem dan contact op met de leverancier waar u het apparaat heeft gekocht.

Het apparaat gaat niet aan.

e Als de accu bijna op is, gaat het apparaat niet aan. Voed het apparaat via de

gelijkstroomstekker of de USB micro-B-poort.

e Is het apparaat in slaapstand gezet door de automatische energiespaar-

stand? Draai de volumeknop tegen de klok in om het apparaat één keer
uit te schakelen.

Er wordt geen geluid geproduceerd.

e Stel het volume in met de volumeknop.
e Controleer of de ingangsselectieschakelaar is ingesteld op de poort die is

De oplaadbare accu verwijderen

Voordat u de oplaadbare accu verwijdert, schakelt u het apparaat in en laat u de
accu leeglopen totdat het apparaat niet meer functioneert. (Als de automatische
energiespaarstand wordt geactiveerd, schakelt u de eenheid uit en weer in.)

o Om dit apparaat uit elkaar te halen, heeft u een kruiskopschroevendraaier

(#0) en een inbussleutel van 1,3 mm nodig.

1 Verwijder de 6 schroeven aan de zijkanten van

het apparaat.

2 Trek de aan-/uit-/volumeknop uit en verwijder de

2 schroeven van het frontpaneel.

The parts and labor warranty will be effective for one (1) year from the date of the
original purchase for products not used for commercial purposes. For products used
commercially, the warranty is ninety (90) days for magnetic heads and optical pick­ups, one (1) year for all other parts and ninety (90) days for labor.

Who Is Covered Under This Warranty

This warranty is valid only in the United States or Canada, dependent upon the
country in which original purchase was made, and enforceable only by the original
purchaser within the country in which the purchase was made.
This warranty is not valid if the product was purchased through an unauthorized
dealer.

What Is Not Covered Under This Warranty

o Damage to or deterioration of the external cabinet.
o Damage resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, or neglect.
o Damage resulting from failure to follow instructions contained in the products

owners’ manual or otherwise provided with the product.

o Damage occurring during shipment of the product (Claims must be presented

to the carrier).

o Damage resulting from the repair or attempted repair by anyone other than

TEAC or an authorized TEAC.

o Damage resulting from modification or attempted modification of product

not authorized by TEAC.

o Damage resulting from causes other than product defects, including lack of

technical skills, competence, or experience of the user.

o Damage to any unit that has been altered or which the serial number has

been defaced, modified or removed.

What TEAC Will Pay For

TEAC will pay all labor and material expenses for items covered by the warranty.
Payment of shipping charges is covered in the next section.

How To Obtain Warranty Service

Your unit must be serviced by an authorized TEAC service station within the coun­try in which the product was purchased. If you are unable to locate an authorized
service station in your area, please contact TEAC at the applicable address shown
at the end of this warranty statement. PLEASE DO NOT RETURN YOUR UNIT TO
TEAC WITHOUT OUR PRIOR AUTHORIZATION. You must pay shipping charges if it is
necessary to ship the product for service. However, if the necessary repairs are cov­ered by warranty, we will pay the return shipping charges to any destination within
the country in which the product was purchased. Whenever warranty service is
required, you must present the original dated sales receipt, or other proof indicat­ing the purchase place and date, as proof of warranty coverage.

LIMITATION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES

ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY

Frais pris en charge par TEAC
