Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian
Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for
compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also
entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable
quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

1. TEAC warrants that this product is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal
domestic use with reasonable care and skill. Maintenance and cleaning (i.e. laser head) is not
covered by this warranty. The TEAC warranty only applies to TEAC products purchased NEW
from a TEAC Authorised Retailer in Australia. This warranty only applies to the original purchaser
and cannot be transferred.

2. The benefits to the consumer given by this Warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies
of the consumer under a law in relation to goods or services to which the warranty relates, being
the Australian Consumer Law.

3. Refund or replacement via your TEAC Authorised Retailer is available for a period of 14 days
after purchase for goods that have been inspected and determined to have a major failure.
Refund and exchange is not applicable for change of mind.

4. Subject to the terms herein, this warranty effectively covers TEAC products under the 12 Month
Replacement Warranty Scheme, 12 months from the date of original purchase.

5. The warranty is void and warranty claims may be refused, subject to the Australian Consumer
Law, if:

a) The product was not transported, installed, operated or maintained according to manufacturer

instruction, or

b) The product was abused, damaged, tampered, altered or repaired by any unauthorised persons,

or

c) Product failure is due to accidents during use, installation or transit, power surges, use of

defective or incompatible external devices, exposure to abnormal conditions such as excessive
temperatures or humidity, or entry of liquids, objects or creatures into the product, cockroach
infestations, or

d) The customer is unable to provide proof of purchase of the product for verification, or
e) The serial number of the product is missing or has been tampered with.

6. No one is authorised to assume any liability on behalf of TEAC or impose any obligation on it, in
connection with the sale of any equipment other than as stated in this warranty and outlined
above.

7. TEAC and/or its Authorised Service Centres reserve the right to inspect and verify whether the
product is exhibiting a major failure as claimed by customers/retailers.

SAFETY INFORMATION

1. Read Instructions – All the safety and operating instructions should be read

before the appliance is operated

2. Retain Instructions – The safety and operating instructions should be retained for

future reference.

3. Heed Warnings – All warnings on the appliances and in the operating instructions

should be adhered to.

4. Water and Moisture – Do not use the apparatus near water (e.g. bath t tub, sink,

swimming pool) or in wet places or tropical climates. Do not place objects filled with
liquids, such as vases, on top of the apparatus. Do not expose the apparatus to
dripping or splashing.

5. Setup – The apparatus should only be placed on a stable, flat surface. Do not let

the apparatus fall down or expose it to shock.

6. Wall or Ceiling Mounting - The appliance should be mounted to a wall or ceiling

only as recommended by the manufacturer.

7. Ventilation - The appliance should be situated so that its location or position does

not interfere with its proper ventilation. For example, the appliance should not be
situated on a bed, sofa, rug, or similar surface that may block the ventilation
openings; or, placed in a built-in installation, such as a bookcase or cabinet that
may impede the flow of air through the ventilation openings. Ensure a minimum
distance of 5 cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation. Ensure that the
ventilation is not impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as
newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.

8. Heat - The appliance should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators,

heat registers, stoves, or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

9. Power Sources - The appliance should be connected to a power supply only of the

type described in the operating instructions or as marked on the appliance.

10. Cables and Plugs – The mains plug shall remain readily operable. All cables

should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items
placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs,
convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the appliance.

11. Cleaning - The appliance should be cleaned only as recommended by the

manufacturer. Clean by wiping with a dry and clean cloth. Do not use chemical
cleaners or detergents. Always pull the mains plug before cleaning the unit.

12. Non-use Periods - The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the

outlet when left unused for a long period of time.

13. Object and Liquid Entry - Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and

liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through openings.

14. Damage Requiring Service - The appliance should be serviced by qualified

service personnel when:

a) The power-supply cord or the plug has been damaged; or
b) Objects have fallen, or liquid has been spilled into the appliance; or
c) The appliance has been exposed to rain; or
d) The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked

change in performance; or

e) The appliance has been dropped, or the enclosure damaged.

15. Servicing - The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that

described in the operating instructions. All other servicing should be referred to
qualified service personnel.

16. Open Fire – Keep the apparatus away from open fires. Do not place naked flame

sources, such as lighted candles on the apparatus.

17. Thunderstorms – During a thunderstorm the mains plug should be unplugged.

18. Safety Check – After servicing the technician should conduct a safety check in

order to ensure that the apparatus is working properly and safely.

19. Batteries – Always place batteries in the correct polarization into electrical

components. Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only
with the same or equivalent type. Do not mix old and new batteries. Take attention
to the environmental aspects of battery disposal. Batteries shall not be exposed to
excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. Remove batteries before
disposing of the product.

20. Volume Levels – To prevent possible hearings damage, do not listen at high

volume levels for long periods.

21. Headphones (if applicable) – Excessive sound pressure from earphones and

headphones can cause hearing loss.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric
shock, do not remove cover (or back). No
user serviceable parts inside. Refer
servicing to qualified service personnel.

The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is
intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage
within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to

constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the
user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing)
instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.\

Batteries

Batteries may not be disposed of in regular house hold trash. Every consumer
has the obligation to return batteries to special disposal locations.

Disposal of Used Electrical & Electronic Equipment
The meaning of the symbol on the product, its accessory or packaging
indicates that this product shall not be treated as household waste.
Please, dispose of this equipment at your applicable collection point for
the recycling of electrical & electronic equipments waste. By ensuring the
correct disposal of this product, you will help prevent potential hazards to the
environment and to human health, which could otherwise be caused by unsuitable
waste handling of this product. The recycling of materials will help conserve natural
resources. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact
your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you
purchased the product.

FURTHER NOTES ON THE DEVICE
Setting a safe volume level

 if you continually listen to loud music, your hearing gradually adapts to it and

gives you the impression that the volume is lower.

 What seems normal to you can be already for long time too loud and unhealthy
 To protect yourself from this, set the volume to a low level.
 Increase the volume slowly.
 Damage to your hearing can be extensive and cannot be reversed.
 If you notice a hearing problem, please consult a doctor.

Condensation

 Condensation may occur when moving the device from a cold to a warm

environment. If there is moisture inside the player, it may not operate properly.
Don’t turn on the device and wait about one hour for the moisture to evaporate.

Saving energy

 If the unit is not used for a long period of time, it should be unplugged from the AC

socket.

 if there is no audio signal or no device connected white in AUX or Wireless

Streaming mode for approximately 15 minutes, the unit will automatically switch

into standby mode
Unpacking
 Take out carefully the unit from the packing. Please keep the packing for further

use
 Carefully remove possible protection cardboards and slipcovers.

POWER SUPPLY

Power Adaptor

1. The unit requires DC 5V 2.0A.

2. Plug the supplied adaptor cable into the connector on the back of the unit and the
other end into a suitable wall socket.

3. Make sure that the output power of the wall outlet matches the required power of the
adaptor.
Note:
If not using the unit for a longer period of time, unplug the adaptor from the wall outlet
and from the unit.
Battery Backup Function
Two 1.5V “AAA” batteries (not included) can be installed as a backup option to maintain
the time if electrical power fails. In the event of a power outage, the time will not appear
on the display, however, the clock will continue to operate and the actual time will be
maintained. The clock display will resume once electrical power is restored if using the
backup battery. The backup batteries should be replaced as needed. Remove the
batteries if the unit is not used or stored for long periods of time.

BASIC FUNCTIONS

Switching the Unit On & Off

1. Power the unit as described above.

2. To switch the unit on, press the STANDBY /MODE button once. The
unit will switch on in Bluetooth mode.

3. To switch the other function, press the STANDBY /MODE button.

Note:

 Press and Hold the STANDBY /MODE button to go back to Standby mode.
 The unit will turn on and switch to BT mode automatically when it is first plugged

in.
Mode Selection
With the unit switched on, press the STANDBY /MODE button repeatedly to switch
between the following modes: Wireless Streaming, AUX, Radio
Volume Control

To increase the volume, press and hold the Volume Up/Alarm 2 button.
To decrease the volume, press and hold the Volume Down/Alarm 1 button.

CLOCK AND ALARM SETTING

Manual Clock Setting
The clock can only be set while the unit is in standby mode.

1. While the unit is in standby mode, press the Play/Pause button. The time will

flash.

2. Press the PREV button to set the current hour.

3. Press the NEXT button to set the current minutes.

4. Once the time is set, do not press any buttons for 3 seconds and the display will

go back to displaying the set time in standby mode; the display will now show the

set time.

Clock Setting via Smartphone

1. Download and install our app that works with the clock radio by going to your

Android/Apple app store and search for “Smart Alarm Clock Control”.

2. Connect with our designated app on your smartphone to synchronize the time and

date.
Note: Please run the APP (either Android or iOS version) and enable Bluetooth on your
smartphone.

Manual Alarm Setting
An alarm can only be set while the unit is in standby mode.
This unit enables you to set 2 separate alarms and select to wake to Radio or Buzzer.

1. While the unit is in standby mode, press the or button and hold for

2 seconds to enter the alarm setup.

2. In either alarm setting (alarm 1 or alarm 2) press the PREV button to set

the desired alarm hour and press the NEXT button to set the desired
alarm minutes.

3. Once the time is set, select the desired wake up mode (Radio or Buzzer) by

pressing the Volume Down/Alarm 1 button (for alarm 1 setting) or the

Volume Up/Alarm 2 button (for alarm 2 setting) repeatedly. The

mode will be indicated in the top left corner of the display.

4. Once the alarm is set as desired, do not press any buttons for about 4

seconds. The display will go back to the clock display in standby mode while
the set alarm(s) is (are) active.

Alarm Setting via APP (Both Android & iOS)

1. Slide to the right to open the Functions Menu and select ALARM CLOCK.

2. Press “+ Add Alarm Clock”, choose your preferred alarm time and date, wake

up mode (Radio or Buzzer), then click “Confirm ”

Notes:

 If radio is selected for wake up mode, the unit will play the last station selected.
 AUX mode cannot be selected for wake up mode.

Activating/Deactivating an Alarm
 When you have set an alarm with one of the wake up modes (Radio or Buzzer)

then the alarm is automatically activated and will sound at the set time. When
Alarm 1 and/or Alarm 2 are activated, this is indicated by the display showing

and/or in the top left corner.

 To check the set alarm time and mode, press the Volume Down/Alarm 1

button (for Alarm1) or the Volume Up/Alarm 2 button (for Alarm 2) once
while in standby mode. After about 5 seconds the display will switch back to the

clock display.

 To deactivate a previously set alarm, enter the alarm setting mode, then press the

desired alarm icon( and/or ) . Keep pressing to cycle through the
following options (Buzzer Radio  nothing), then stop pressing any buttons for

5 seconds. The alarm icon ( and/or ) in the display will turn off and the
display will switch back to clock display. The alarm clock has now been

deactivated.

 To reactivate a previously set alarm, enter the alarm setting mode as described

above and select a desired wake up mode. When exiting the setting mode, the
symbol for the activated alarm ( and/or ) will light up in the top left corner

of the display.

Activating/Deactivating an Alarm via APP (Both Android & iOS)

 Check the alarm setting activation or deactivation by pressing the icon.

Stopping an Active Alarm
 When the alarm is sounding, press the STANDBY /MODE button to turn it off.

The alarm will trigger again on the next day at the set time.

Snooze Function
The snooze function allows you to delay an active alarm for approximately 8 minutes.
To do so, press the SNOOZE button once while the alarm is active. The alarm will stop
and come on again after approximately 8 minutes. During this time the RADIO/BUZZER
symbol is flashing in the display.

To cancel the snooze function, press the STANDBY /MODE button.
Snooze via APP
In the APP, when the alarm is activated, there will be a pop up “Stop” or “Snooze”.
Select “Snooze” to delay the alarm for 8 minutes.

Dimmer
The display can be dimmed in 3 levels. To toggle between the settings press the

SNOOZE/SLEEP button repeatedly while the unit is in standby mode.

USB CHARGER

This unit enables you to charge your phone or other devices that can be charged via
USB. Simply connect your device to the USB port on the back of the unit.
Notes:
 The USB port on this product is only for charging the batteries of external devices.

It cannot play audio from USB devices.

 The USB device must always be connected directly to the USB port of this

product. The use of a USB extension cord is not supported by this product. The
USB port of this product cannot communicate with a computer directly.

RADIO

1. Switch the unit on as described above.

2. Select radio mode by pressing the STANDBY /MODE button repeatedly.

3. Select a desired radio station by pressing the or button repeatedly.

4. This unit has an auto store system for quick access: While in radio mode, press

and hold for 2 seconds the or button. The whole frequency range will now
be scanned and up 20 radio stations that are found are automatically stored in the
memory. Once the scan is finished, you can quickly select between the stored

stations by pressing the Play/Pause button.
Note:
 For the best FM reception, fully extend the antenna.

Radio Station Presets
Besides the auto store system as described above, you can also manually store radio
stations (max. 20 in total):
Tune to a radio station which you would like to store.
Press and hold the Play /.Pause button for 2 seconds. The preset no. (0-19) and
“MEM” will be shown on the display.
Select a desired preset place from 0 to 19 on which you want to store the current
frequency by pressing the or button.
Press the Play/Pause button again to confirm your setting.
Repeat steps 1 - 4 to store up to 20 frequencies.
To recall a stored frequency, press the Play/Pause button. (“CH” will be shown in
the display together with the preset no.)
Notes:
 Manually storing stations on presets where other stations have previously been

stored on will overwrite these.

 Similarly, the auto store system will overwrite previously manually stored stations.
 If a radio station is broadcasting in stereo, “ST” will be shown on the display.

Radio via APP (Both Android and iOS version)

1. Slide to the right on your screen to open the Functions Menu and select
RADIO to enter the Radio control panel.

AUX INPUT

You can connect the audio output of an external device such as a CD or MP3 player to
this unit to listen to the sound of that device through the amplifier of this music system.

1. Switch the unit on as described above.

2. Select AUX mode by pressing the STANDBY /MODE button repeatedly.

3. To connect the external device please use a standard stereo audio cable (3.5 mm
to 3.5 mm plug)(not included) to connect the headphone out or audio line out of
the external device to the AUX input socket of this unit.

4. Switch the external device (e.g. MP3 player) on.

5. Start playback of the external device and adjust the volume and the connected
device to the desired level.

6. Remember to switch off the unit when you are finished using the external device.

AUX Input via APP (Both Android and iOS)

1. Slide from the left to access the Menu and select AUX, then connect the AUX
in cable.

2. During AUX in mode, you can only select the PLAY / PAUSE function.

Note: If there is no connection of AUX cable, or any buttons pressed on the unit, it will
go to Standby mode after 15 mins.

WIRELESS PLAYBACK FROM SMART DEVICE

This unit can wirelessly stream audio from any smart device within approximately 10
metres. Obstacles such as walls and other devices may limit this range.
Simply pair the device and enjoy wireless playback and control from your compatible
smart device.

1. Switch the unit on and select BT mode by pressing the STANDBY /MODE
button. The unit will beep and the BT symbol will start flashing in the display.
Remember to download the APP from your Android/Apple app store, as
described above.

2. Turn on the Bluetooth function in your device.

3. Go to your device’s Bluetooth® settings. Add or search for devices. When the

model no. “CRX23ABT” appears, select the device. If you are prompted for a pass
code, enter “0000”.

4. Your device is now paired with the unit.

5. Once a device is connected, the BT symbol will be shown steadily in the display.

6. You can now start playing music on your device to hear it over the unit speakers.

7. The unit automatically connects to your external device if it has been paired with
the unit before, unless the unitis already connected wirelessly to another device.

Notes:

 Only one device can be connected and played at a time.
 If there is no wireless connection made, or if no buttons are pressed, the unit will

return to Standby mode after 15 mins.

Note:

 If there is no playback, ensure that neither the unit nor your Bluetooth® device are

set to zero volume and the right device for playback is paired and connected.
