Nous vous recommandons instamment de confier l'installation de votre Stûv (ou en tout cas le contrôle de cette installation) à un professionnel qualifié qui pourra notamment vérifier que les caractéristiques du conduit de fumées correspondent au foyer installé.

Wij bevelen u ten stelligste aan om voor de installatie van uw Stûv een beroep te doen op een erkend vakman (of hem in ieder geval de installatie te laten controleren). De vakman zal met name controleren of het rookkanaal geschikt is voor de geïnstalleerde haard.

Vi consigliamo di affidare l’installazione del vostro Stûv (e il controllo) a un tecnico specializzato che potrà in particolare verificare se le caratteristiche del condotto dei fumi corrispondono al focolare installato.

À la réception du matériel

Avec le foyer, vous recevez : – une bombe de peinture pour

réparation,

– une poignée "main froide"

(photo 2 B) pour la manipulation de la porte et du registre,

– une poignée métallique (photo 2 A)

pour la fixation du flexible,

Attention !

Vérifier que la vitre ne s'est pas brisée au cours de la livraison ; en effet la garantie ne couvre les détériorations dues au transport que si elles sont signalées dans les 48 heures de la livraison.

La peinture n'est pas cuite au four ; elle est donc relativement fragile mais elle durcira lors des premières chauffes ; par conséquent, manipuler l'appareil avec précaution lors de son installation. Lors du premier feu, certains dégagements de fumée et d'odeur peuvent se produire : ventiler abondamment.

Opgelet !

Controleer bij ontvangst van uw haard of de ruit tijdens het transport geen schade heeft opgelopen. De garantie dekt enkel transportschade die binnen 48 uur na levering wordt gemeld.

De verf is niet in de oven gebakken. Ze is dus relatief kwetsbaar en zal pas verharden tijdens de eerste opwarmingen van de haard. Tijdens de installatie van de haard moet dan ook de nodige voorzichtigheid aan de dag gelegd worden om de verf niet te beschadigen. Wanneer de haard voor het eerst wordt aangemaakt, kunnen rook en geur vrijkomen. Zorg voor voldoende verluchting.

La vernice non è stata sottoposta alla cottura a forno, per cui è relativamente fragile, ma indurirà nel corso del primo riscaldamento del focolare. Di conseguenza, manipolare l’apparecchio con la massima precauzione durante l’installazione. Quando si accende il focolare per la prima volta, si possono sprigionare fumi e odori. Ventilare abbondantemente.

Recepción del material

Con el hogar, recibirá usted : – una bomba de pintura para

¡ Atención !

Asegúrese de que el cristal no se haya roto en el transcurso de su transporte, puesto que la garantía sólo cubre los deterioros producidos durante el transporte si se notifican antes de que hayan transcurrido 48 horas desde su entrega.

La pintura no ha sido sometida a una cocción al horno, por lo que es relativamente frágil, pero se irá endureciendo con los primeros usos ; por consiguiente, hay que manipular el aparato con precaución durante su instalación. Durante el primer encendido se pueden producir algunos escapes de humo y de olores, por lo que se recomienda mantener una abundante y constante ventilación.

On taking delivery of the equipment

You receive the fireplace with : – a paint spray for repairs, – a "cold" handgrip (photo 2 B) for

handling the door and the damper,

– a metal handgrip (photo 2 A) for

fixing the flexible pipe,

Caution !

Check that the window has not been broken during delivery. In actual fact, the guarantee only covers damage due to transport if it is notified within 48 hours of delivery.

The paint is not oven-baked and it is therefore relatively fragile but will harden when it is heated for the first few times. Consequently, take care when handling the appliance when it is being fitted. When lighting the fire for the first time, some unpleasant smoke or smells may be released. Ventilate with a plentiful supply of air.

En cas de réclamation, communiquez toujours le n° du foyer (photo 4) visible sur le corps de l’appareil au centre en dessous du récupérateur de cendres (photo 3 A) et adressez une copie de la fiche de contrôle final du foyer.

Remettez les documents à l’utilisateur et recommandez-lui de renvoyer le certificat de garantie chez Concept & Forme.

Mise en place du Stûv 15

Ne pas sceller l’appareil dans la construction.

Le foyer doit être placé dans une niche et pouvoir en être retiré. Pour permettre les dilatations (et éviter les bruits qu'elles provoquent), il faut éviter tout contact entre la maçonnerie de finition et le foyer.

Vermeld bij eventuele klachten het nr. van de haard. Dit nummer (foto 4) bevindt zich op de ombouw van het toestel, in het midden onder de aslade (foto 3 A). Stuur een kopie van de fiche voor eindcontrole van de haard.

Overhandig de documenten aan de gebruiker en raad hem aan het garantiebewijs naar Concept & Forme terug te sturen.

Installatie van de Stûv 15

Metsel het toestel niet vast in de constructie.

De haard moet in een nis worden geplaatst en eruit gehaald kunnen worden. Opdat de haard zou kunnen uitzetten (en ter voorkoming van het geluid dat ermee gepaard gaat), moet elk contact tussen het metselwerk en de haard worden vermeden.

Per presentare un reclamo, comunicare sempre il numero del focolare (foto 4), visibile sul corpo dell’apparecchio al centro sotto il ricuperatore della cenere (foto 3 A), e inviare una copia della scheda di controllo finale del focolare.

Consegnare i documenti all’utilizzatore raccomandandogli di rinviare il certificato di garanzia a Concept & Forme.

Installazione dello Stûv 15

Non murare l’apparecchio nella muratura.

Il focolare deve essere collocato in un alloggiamento in modo tale che possa essere rimosso. Per consentire una certa dilatazione (ed evitare i rumori provocati da quest’ultima), si deve evitare il contatto fra la muratura di finitura e il focolare.

Isoler le foyer : le pour et le contre

On peut placer des isolants thermiques entre la maçonerie et le foyer. En tout état de cause, on prendra les précautions nécessaires pour éviter un échauffement excessif des parois et des éléments de construction voisins du foyer (poutre en bois par ex.) et on isolera ces matériaux suivant les règles de l’art et les normes en vigueur au moment du placement en fonction de leur inflammabilité.

De haard isoleren : voor- en nadelen

Tussen het metselwerk en de haard kan thermische isolatie aangebracht worden. Men zal in elk geval de nodige maatregelen treffen om een oververhitting van de wanden en de aanpalende constructies (vb. houten balk) te vermijden en dit materiaal brandwerend isoleren volgens de regels van de kunst en volgens de geldende normen op het ogenblik van de plaatsing.

Isolamento del focolare : vantaggi e svantaggi

Si possono installare isolanti termici fra la muratura e il focolare. In ogni caso, verranno prese le precauzioni necessarie per evitare un riscaldamento eccessivo delle pareti e degli elementi della costruzione in prossimità del monoblocco (p.e. travi in legno). Si provvederà inoltre ad isolare questi materiali a regola d’arte, rispettando le norme in vigore al momento dell’installazione, in funzione dell’infiammabilità degli stessi.

En caso de reclamación, comunique siempre el número del hogar (foto 4), visible en el centro del cuerpo del aparato, debajo del recuperador de cenizas (foto 3 A) y envíe una copia de la ficha de control final del hogar.

If you have a complaint to make, always communicate the no. of the fireplace (photo 4) which can be seen on the main frame of the appliance, in the middle, under the ash collector (photo 3 A) and send a copy of the final inspection card for the fireplace.

Entregue los documentos al usuario y recuérdele que debe envíar el certificado de garantía a Concept & Forme.

Colocación del Stûv 15

No selle el aparato en la mampostería

El hogar se debe colocar en un nicho, y debe poderse retirar. Para permitir dilataciones, así como para evitar ruidos de chapa, hay que evitar cualquier contacto entre el acabado de la mampostería y el hogar.

Installation of the Stûv 15

Do not bed the appliance in the structure.

The fireplace must be placed in a recess and be able to be taken out. There must be no contact between the finishing masonry and the fireplace to allow it to dilate (and avoid the noise that dilatation causes).

Insulating the fireplace : The pros and cons

Se pueden colocar aislantes térmicos entre la mampostería y el hogar. Thermal insulation can be placed between the masonry and the fireplace. In any case, all necessary precautions should be taken to avoid excessive heating of the walls and structural elements close to the fireplace (wooden beams, for example) : these materials should be insulated to professional standards in accordance with the standards in force at the time the fireplace is installed, according to their degree of inflammability.

Le pour :

Le contre :

– si l’étanchéité de l'enceinte de

maçonnerie construite autour du foyer n’est pas parfaitement réalisée, des particules d’isolant peuvent se retrouver en suspension dans l’air de convection.

Remarque :

Utiliser idéalement de la fibre céramique, ou des panneaux rigides de laine minérale dont les fibres sont agglomérées par un liant.

De voordelen :

– warmteverlies wordt beperkt ;

dit is alleen gerechtvaardigd als de haard tegen een buitenmuur geplaatst is. Is dat niet het geval, dan is er van warmteverlies geen sprake : de warmte zal door het metselwerk worden opgenomen en in de aanpalende kamers worden afgegeven ;

indien de haard in de nabijheid van brandbare voorwerpen is geïnstalleerd ;

Nadelen :

– als het metselwerk rond de haard niet

perfect sluit, kunnen deeltjes van het isolatiemateriaal meegevoerd worden in de convectielucht.

Opmerking :

Gebruik bij voorkeur keramische vezels of stijve rotswolpanelen waarvan de vezels geagglomereerd zijn met een bindmiddel.

Vantaggi :

Utilizzare fibre di ceramica o pannelli rigidi di lana minerale le cui fibre sono agglomerate per mezzo di un legante.

Raccordement à la cheminée

S'assurer que les caractéristiques dimensionnelles du conduit répondent aux prescriptions locales pour une installation suivant les règles de l'art et aux normes en vigueur.

Quelques notions élémentaires :

– Pour un tirage correct, le foyer doit

être adapté au conduit de cheminée (ou inversément).

– Le conduit sera aussi droit que

possible.

– Rappelons qu’une cheminée surdimen-

sionnée est aussi préjudiciable au bon fonctionnement du foyer qu’une cheminée sous-dimensionnée.

– La solution idéale est un conduit

construit à l’intérieur du bâtiment et isolé thermiquement ; il faut proscrire un conduit extérieur sans isolation.

Aansluiting op een schoorsteen

Ga na of de afmetingen van het rookkanaal voldoen aan de lokale voorschriften voor een installatie volgens de regels van de kunsten volgens de geldende normen.

Enkele elementaire regels :

– Voor een goede trek moet de haard

aangepast zijn aan het rookkanaal (of omgekeerd).

– Het rookkanaal moet zo recht

mogelijk zijn.

– We herhalen dat een te grote

schoorsteen even nadelig is voor de goede werking van de haard als een te kleine schoorsteen.

– De ideale oplossing is een thermisch

geïsoleerd rookkanaal in het gebouw. Te vermijden : een niet geïsoleerd rookkanaal buiten het gebouw.

Collegamento al camino

Assicurarsi che le caratteristiche dimensionali del condotto rispondano alle norme locali per eseguire un’installazione a regola d’arte e alle norme in vigore.

Alcune regole elementari :

– Per un tiraggio corretto, il focolare

deve essere adattato al condotto del camino (o viceversa).

– Il condotto deve essere il più dritto

possibile.

– Un camino troppo grande è pregiudi-

zievole al buon funzionamento di un focolaio allo stesso modo di un camino troppo piccolo.

– La soluzione ideale è un condotto

costruito all’interno del camino e isolato termicamente. Evitare assolutamente i condotti esterni senza isolamento.

Ventajas :

– Reducción de las pérdidas de calor ;

Pros :

– to reduce heat losses. This is only

justified if the fireplace is placed with the back against an outside wall. If that is not the case, there will be no heat loss. Heat will be dissipated into the masonry then into the adjacent rooms ;

– to reduce the peak temperature

if the fireplace is located close to inflammable elements.

Inconvenientes :

– Si el recinto de mampostería que

rodea el hogar no está realizado perfectamente, de modo que sea totalmente estanco, podrían hallarse partículas de aislante en suspensión en el aire de convección.

Recomendaciones :

Utilice preferentemente fibra cerámica o paneles de lana mineral rígida cuyas fibras estén aglomeradas por una materia flexible.

Acoplamiento a la chimenea

Cons :

– if the masonry enclosure built around

the fireplace is not perfectly tight, particles of insulating material could float in suspension in the convection air.

Note :

It would be ideal to use ceramic fibre or rigid rock-wool panels where the fibres are agglomerated by a binder.

Connection to a chimney

Make sure that the flue size characteristics meet local regulations for installation according to the book and respecting the standards in force.

Some rudimentary notions :

– For a correct draught, the fireplace

must be adapted to the flue (or

inversely). – The flue will be as straight as possible. – It is worth recalling that an oversized

chimney is as harmful to the smooth

operation of the fireplace as an

undersized chimney. – The ideal solution is a flue built inside

the building and thermally insulated.

An outside flue pipe without any

insulation must be avoided.

Recommandations

– Pour le raccordement proprement dit,

nous recommandons un conduit inox,

si possible rigide. – Diamètre standard de la sortie : Stûv 15/60 180 mm Stûv 15/70 200 mm – Certaines configurations de cheminée

peuvent exiger un autre diamètre

que celui prévu en standard. Veuillez

consulter Stûv. – Dans tous les cas, assurer une

étanchéité entre le corps de l'appareil

et la sortie de fumée. – Il est conseillé d'isoler le conduit de

fumée, pour favoriser le tirage et

éviter les condensations. – Si plusieurs conduits sont disponibles

(fig. 5) :

Avant d’installer le Stûv 15 dans son emplacement

7 Ouvrir et enlever la porte en la sortant

de ses gonds.

8 Retirer le déviateur qui est simplement

déposé sur 4 supports.

9 Par l’intérieur du foyer, dévisser la

collerette à l’aide d’une clef de 10.

10 Fixer la collerette sur le flexible par

quelques vis autoforantes.

Alvorens de Stûv 15 te installeren op zijn plaats

- utilizzarne uno solo

- ostruire in alto e in basso i condotti

non utilizzati e verificare che la

muratura che circonda il focolare

sia completamente impermeabile

per evitare che l’aria fredda

proveniente dall’esterno non

raffreddi l’interno della casa.

Prima di installare lo Stûv 15 nella posizione prevista

7 Aprire e togliere la porta togliendola

dai cardini.

8 Rimuovere il deviatore che è sempli-

cemente appoggiato su 4 supporti.

flangia con una chiave n°10.

mediante alcune viti.

Recomendaciones

Recommendations

– For the actual connection, we

recommend the use of a stainless-

steel flue and a rigid one, if possible. – Standard outlet diameter : Stûv 15/60 180 mm Stûv 15/70 200 mm – Some chimney configurations may

require an other diameter than the

standard specified diameter. Please

consult Stûv. – In all events, make sure that the body

of the appliance and the smoke outlet

are airtight. – It is advisable to insulate the flue to

improve the draught and to avoid

condensation. – If several flues are available (fig 5) :

- only use one of them

- block up the unused flues from top

to bottom and generally speaking

take care to see that the enclosure

in which the fireplace is fitted is

really tight to avoid cold air from

outside cooling the inside of the

house.

Before fitting the Stûv 15 in position

6 To make work easier and to avoid

damaging the frame, we advise you

to remove it.

7 Open and remove the door by taking

it off its hinges.

8 Take out the deflector, which is merely

set on 4 brackets.

9 Unscrew the collar from the inside of

the fireplace using a no. 10 spanner.

10 Fix the collar on the flexible pipe with

a few self-drilling screws.

11 Introduire l’ensemble dans le conduit

de cheminée. Remplir d’isolation (A) l’intervalle entre le flexible et la maçonnerie et réaliser l’étanchéité (B).

12 Placer un joint de mastic de fer ou

une corde céramique sur le pourtour de l’ouverture supérieure du foyer.

13 Mettre en place le Stûv 15.

Ne pas oublier d’introduire le câble de raccordement électrique dans une des ouvertures latérales prévues à cet effet (voir figure 15 et page 12, photo 20). De l’intérieur (avec la poignée illustrée à la photo 2 A) retirer la collerette pour l’appliquer correctement sur le foyer.

14 Visser de l’intérieur à l’aide d’une clé

Fill the gap between the flexible pipe and the masonry with insulating material (A) and make it all airtight (B).

12 Place an iron-putty seal or a ceramic

cord around the circumference of the upper opening of the fireplace.

13 Install the Stûv 15.

Do not forget to insert the electric connection cable through one of the side openings provided for that purpose (see figure 15 and page 12, photo 20). Take out the collar from the inside (with the handgrip illustrated in photo 2 A) to apply it correctly to the fireplace.

Le rupteur est court-circuité en usine. Enlever le pontage entre les 2 bornes du rupteur si on souhaite interrompre la ventilation à l’allumage et à l’extinction du feu.

24 Repousser le bloc dans son

emplacement en s’assurant que câble et connecteur se positionnent correctement.

25 Appuyer au centre du bloc et,

sans forcer, reserrer les deux vis de pression.

26 Replacer le récupérateur de cendres.

Attention aux encoches ! Monter la porte et le cadre de finition.

Het is echter aan te raden de ventilatie niet te onderbreken, indien zich bijvoorbeeld boven de haard een houten balk bevindt. De stroomonderbreker wordt reeds in de fabriek kortgesloten. Indien u de ventilatie wenst te onderbreken bij het aansteken en het doven van het vuur dient de overbrugging van de stroomonderbreker tussen de 2 klemmen verwijderd te worden.

24 Duw het blok terug op zijn plaats,

waarbij u erop let dat kabel en stekker juist gepositioneerd zijn.

25 Duw op het midden van het blok en

draai de twee spanschroeven weer vast, zonder te forceren.

26 Breng de aslade terug aan. Let op

voor de sleuven ! Monteer de deur en het afwerkingskader.

Questa funzione permette di economizzare mantenendo un alto livello di comfort, tuttavia vi consigliamo di non interrompere la ventilazione se sopra il monoblocco si trova ad esempio una trave in legno. Il ruttore viene messo in cortocircuito direttamente in fabbrica. Togliere il ponte di collegamento fra i due morsetti del ruttore se si desidera interrompere la ventilazione al momento dell’accensione o dello spegnimento del fuoco.

24 Rimettere il blocco in posizione

assicurandosi che il cavo e il connettore siano posizionati correttamente.

25 Premere sul centro del blocco e,

senza forzare, riserrare le due viti di pressione.

20 Pass the connecting cable from

the wall plug through the rubber grommet either to the left or to the right of the fireplace.

21 Connect that cable to the connector. It is essential to connect up the earth

wire.

22 Leave the cable slack to allow

subsequent removal (of the cassette or the technical unit).

23 The Stûv 15 is equipped with a

thermal circuit-breaker (Klixon), which interrupts the electricity supply to the ventilators when it registers an insufficient temperature, that is to say, at the moment of lighting and when the fire goes out. Quel bois choisir ?

Les différentes essences de bois ont des pouvoirs calorifiques différents et elles ne brûlent pas toutes de la même façon ; d’une manière générale, donnez votre préférence aux bois durs comme le chêne, le hêtre, le frêne, le charme, les fruitiers : ils produisent de belles flammes et beaucoup de braises qui restent longtemps incandescentes.

Le séchage

Quel que soit le bois choisi, il doit être bien sec ; le bois humide chauffe infiniment moins : une grande partie de l’énergie n’est utilisée que pour évaporer l’eau qu’il contient ; l’aubier – c’est ainsi qu’on appelle le bois jeune immédiatement sous l’écorce – peut contenir jusqu’à 75% d’eau. De plus, le bois mouillé dégage beaucoup de fumée et peu de flammes et il provoque l’encrassement du foyer, de sa vitre et de la cheminée. Pour favoriser le séchage, il est important que les gros rondins soient fendus ; le bois sera couvert ou abrité de la pluie, mais bien ventilé. En général, il faut compter deux années de séchage. Avec l’expérience, vous apprécierez le séchage en soupesant les bûches : plus elles sont sèches, plus elles sont légères et plus elles produisent un son clair quand on les cogne l’une contre l’autre.

Het drogen

Welke hout u ook kiest, het moet goed droog zijn ; vochtig hout geeft veel minder warmte : een groot deel van de energie wordt uitsluitend gebruikt voor verdamping van het water; spinthout – zo noemt men het jonge hout onmiddellijk onder de schors – kan tot 75% water bevatten. Bovendien geeft vochtig hout veel rook af en weinig vlammen en veroorzaakt het sterke vervuiling van haard, ruit en schoorsteen. Om het drogen te bevorderen, moet groot rondhout worden gekliefd ; het hout moet worden bewaard op een afgedekte of tegen de regen beschutte, maar goed verluchte plaats. Meestal duurt het drogen twee jaar. Met wat ervaring kunt u het droogstadium beoordelen door de houtblokken op de hand te wegen : hoe droger ze zijn, hoe lichter ze zijn en hoe helderder het geluid als u ze tegen elkaar stoot.

Onbruikbaar hout

Hout dat een chemische behandeling onderging, telefoonpalen, spaanplaat. Al dit hout veroorzaakt een snelle vervuiling van het toestel en schoorsteen en kan giftige uitwasemingen doen ontstaan.

Che tipo di legna scegliere ?

I diversi tipi di legno possiedono poteri calorifici diversi e non bruciano tutti nello stesso modo. In generale, è preferibile scegliere il legno duro, come la quercia, il faggio, il frassino, il carpine, gli alberi da frutto ; producono infatti una bella fiamma e molta brace che resta a lungo incandescente.

Essiccamento

Qualunque sia il legno scelto, questo deve essere ben secco, poiché la legna umida riscalda molto meno. Infatti gran parte dell’energia viene utilizzata unicamente per evaporare l’acqua in essa contenuta. L’alburno – ovvero il legno giovane che si trova nella zona superficiale sotto la corteccia – può contenere fino al 75% di acqua. Inoltre, la legna umida genera molto fumo e poche fiamme, provocando incrostazioni nel focolare, sul vetro e nel camino. Per favorire l’essiccamento, occorre spaccare i tondelli più grossi ; la legna deve essere coperta e riparata dalla pioggia, ma ben ventilata. In generale, l’essiccamento dura due anni. Con l’esperienza, potrete valutare il grado di essiccamento soppesando i ceppi. Quanto più sono secchi tanto più sono leggeri e producono un suono chiaro sbattendoli l’uno contro l’altro.

Da evitare

Il legno che è stato sottoposto a trattamenti chimici, le traverse dei binari o gli agglomerati, che sporcano rapidamente il focolare e il camino e possono produrre emanazioni tossiche.

Los diferentes tipos de maderas tienen poderes caloríficos distintos y no arden todas del mismo modo ; de manera general, la mejor opción son las maderas duras como el roble, el haya, el fresno, el carpe y los frutales : producen una buena llama, así como brasas abundantes y que se mantienen incandescentes largo tiempo.

El secado

Cualquiera que sea la madera elegida, debe estar bien seca : la madera húmeda calienta mucho menos, porque una gran parte de la energía se consume en la evaporación de agua que contiene. La albura – que es como se denomina la madera joven que está justo debajo de la corteza – puede contener hasta un 75% de agua. Además, la madera húmeda produce gran cantidad de humo y pocas llamas, lo que provoca suciedad en el hogar, el cristal y la chimenea. Para favorecer el secado, es importante partir los leños grandes ; la madera debe estar cubierta o al abrigo de la lluvia, pero bien ventilada. En general, la madera debe tener dos años de secado. Con la experiencia, aprenderá usted a calibrar el grado de sequedad sopesando los troncos : cuanto más secos están, más ligeros son, produciendo además un sonido más claro cuando se los golpea uno contra otro.

A evitar

No utilice maderas que han sido sometidas a procesos químicos, traviesas de ferrocarril, ni aglome-rados, que ensucian rápidamente la chimenea y pueden producir emanaciones tóxicas.

Which wood should you choose ?

Different species of wood have different heat capacities and they do not all burn in the same way. Generally speaking, you should opt for hard wood such as oak, beech, ash, hornbeam or fruit trees. They provide lovely flames and a lot of embers which will glow for a long, long time.

Drying

Whatever wood you choose to use, it must be really dry. Damp wood heats a great deal less : a best part of energy is only used to evaporate the water that it contains. The sapwood – as the soft wood just beneath the bark is called – can contain up to 75% water. Furthermore, moist wood releases a lot of smoke and not many flames and it causes the fireplace, its window and the chimney to get dirty and soot up. The big logs should be split for the wood to dry better. The wood should be covered or sheltered from the rain, but well ventilated. Generally speaking, you should allow two years for the wood to dry properly. You will learn to estimate the extent of drying from experience by weighing the logs in your hand. The drier they are, the lighter they are and they make a clearer sound when you knock them together.

Wood never to be used

Wood which has been treated with chemicals, railway sleepers, or fibreboard, which are quick to dirty the appliance and soot up the chimney and may also give off toxic fumes.

Le hêtre (3)

Un bois de chauffage à recommander : il a un pouvoir calorifique élevé, il sèche vite et on en trouve facilement. Il doit être stocké sous abri immédiatement après avoir été débité et refendu, sinon il pourrit très vite et perd rapidement de son pouvoir calorifique.

C’est un excellent combustible, mais il doit – contrairement aux autres bois – rester non couvert pendant deux ans pour que la pluie le débarrasse des tanins qu’il contient ; ensuite, on l’entreposera sous abri encore un an ou deux avant de le brûler. Dans les petites branches, la proportion d’aubier (qui brûle trop vite) est importante.

Le bouleau (7)

C’est un feuillu à bois tendre. Il a un pouvoir calorifique très élevé mais brûle vite : on l’utilisera pour lancer (ou relancer le feu).

Les autres feuillus tendres

Le tilleul, le saule, le marronnier, le peuplier brûlent mal et chauffent peu.

Les résineux

Ils dégagent beaucoup de chaleur, mais ils se consument rapidement ; il projettent des braises et les résines qu’ils contiennent encrassent les cheminées. À éviter.

Beuk (3)

Linde, wilg, kastanjeboom en populier branden slecht en geven weinig warmte.

Naaldbomen

Geven veel warmte, maar verbranden snel. Ze maken gensters en de harsen die ze bevatten, vervuilen de schoorsteen. Te mijden.

Si consiglia come legna da ardere. Possiede un potere calorifico elevato, secca rapidamente e si trova con facilità. Deve essere tenuto al riparo subito dopo che è stato spaccato, altrimenti marcisce rapidamente con perdita del potere calorifico.

La quercia (4)

È un eccellente combustibile ma, a differenza degli altri tipi di legno, deve restare allo scoperto per due anni affinché la pioggia elimini il tannino che contiene, quindi andrà messo al riparo per un anno o due prima di bruciarlo. Nei rami piccoli, la quantità di alburno (che brucia rapidamente) è assai elevata.

Il carpine (5), il frassino e gli alberi da frutto

Sono ottimi combustibili ma piuttosto rari. Foto 6 : ciliegio selvatico.

La betulla (7)

È un albero latifoglio dal legno tenero. Ha un potere calorifico molto elevato ma brucia rapidamente. Si utilizza in genere per attivare (o riattivare) il fuoco.

Gli altri alberi latifogli dal legno tenero

Il tiglio, il salice, il castagno e il pioppo bruciano male e riscaldano poco.

Gli alberi resinosi

Sviluppano molto calore ma si consumano rapidamente, proiettando la brace e sporcando il camino. Sono da evitare.

Es una madera muy apropiada para la combustión : tiene un poder calorífico elevado, se seca rápidamente y es fácil de encontrar. Se debe almacenar bajo techado inmediatamente después de talada y cortada , porque si no suele pudrirse en seguida, y pierde rápidamente su poder calorífico.

El roble (4)

Es un excelente combustible, pero, al contrario de las demás maderas, debe almacenarse sin cubrir durante dos años para que la lluvia le despoje de los taninos qu e contiene ; después hay que mantenerlo bajo techado un año o dos antes de quemarlo. Las ramas pequeñas contienen una importante proporcion de albura, que arde con demasiada rapidez.

El carpe (5), el fresno y los frutales

Excelentes combustibles, pero poco habituales. Foto 6 : cerezo silvestre.

El abedul (7)

Es un árbol frondoso y de madera blanda. Tiene un poder calorífico bastante elevado, pero arde rápidamente : es mejor utilizarlo para prender el fuego, o para que vuelva a arder si se está apagando.

Los demás árboles frondosos de madera blanda

El tilo, el sauce, el castaño y el álamo arden mal y calientan poco.

Las maderas resinosas

Desprenden mucho calor, pero se consumen rápidamente ; proyectan las brasas, y las resinas que contienen ensucian las chimeneas. Se recomienda evitar su uso.

Beech (3)

Beech is a recommended wood for heating purposes : it has a high heat capacity, it dries quickly and it is easy to find. It must be stored under cover immediately after having been cut up and split, otherwise it rots very quickly and rapidly loses its heat capacity.

Oak (4)

Oak makes excellent fuel, but unlike other wood, it must remain uncovered for two years for the rain to wash away the tannins that it contains. Next, it will be stored under cover for a further year or two before burning it. There is a significant proportion of sapwood (which burns too quickly) in small branches.

Hornbeam (5), ash, fruit trees

Excellent fuel, but rare. Photo 6 : wild cherry tree.

Birch (7)

Birch is a softwood from a broad-leaved tree. It has a high heat capacity but burns quickly. It should be used for starting (or restarting) the fire.

Other soft broad-leaved trees

The lime tree, willow, chestnut tree and poplar do not burn well and give off little warmth.

Conifers

Conifers give off a lot of heat but they burn quickly. They sputter embers and the resins they contain foul up the chimney. They should be avoided.

Allumage

Enflammer d’abord des boules de papier et du petit bois. Ouvrir la devanture du cendrier (photo 8) et laisser la porte entr'ouverte pour éviter que les fumées ne se condensent sur la vitre froide et y laissent un dépôt de suies. Quand le petit bois est bien enflammé, charger de bois de plus en plus gros jusqu’à pouvoir enflammer des buches ; refermer la porte quand la vitre atteint une température suffisante. Lancer le feu assez vivement pour échauffer le foyer, favoriser un bon tirage puis régler le thermostat (photo 9) pour obtenir l'allure souhaitée.

Remarques importantes :

– Le Stûv 15 est conçu pour un

fonctionnement porte fermée.

– Le rupteur thermique (klixon)

enclenche le ventilateur après ± 20 minutes de fonctionnement et coupe le circuit d’alimentation des ventilateurs quand le feu s’éteint. Ce dispositif doit être activé par l’installateur lors du placement du foyer. Il permet un fonctionnement plus confortable et plus économique. Nous recommendons de le désactiver si le Stûv est surmonté d’une poutre en bois.

Aanmaken

Steek eerst proppen papier en kleine stukken hout aan. Open de voorzijde van de aslade (foto 8) en laat de deur op een kier staan, om te vermijden dat de rook condenseert op de ruit en er zich roet op afzet. Wanneer het kleine hout goed brandt, doe er dan steeds dikker hout in, tot u blokken kan aansteken ; sluit de deur wanneer de ruit heet genoeg is. Maak het vuur tamelijk fel om de haard op te warmen. Zorg voor een goede trek en stel daarna de thermostaat (foto 9) in tot de gewenste verbranding.

Belangrijke opmerkingen :

– De Stûv 15 is ontworpen om te

branden met gesloten deur.

– De thermische onderbreker

(klixon) schakelt de ventilator in na ± 20 minuten werken en onderbreekt het voedingscircuit van de ventilatoren wanneer het vuur dooft. Deze functie moet de installateur tijdens de plaatsing van de haard worden activeren. Ze garandeert meer comfort en een zuinig verbruik. Wij raden u aan, de installatie uit te schakelen indien zich boven de Stûv een houten balk bevindt.

Innanzitutto far prendere fuoco alla carta e ai pezzetti di legno. Aprire la parte anteriore del ceneratoio (foto 8) e lasciare la porta semiaperta per evitare che i fumi non si condensino sul vetro freddo e vi lascino un deposito di fuliggine. Quando i pezzetti di legno bruciano bene, mettere nel focolare legna sempre più grossa fino a quando i ceppi non prendono fuoco. Richiudere la porta quando il vetro raggiunge una temperatura sufficiente.

Osservazioni importanti :

– Lo Stûv 15 è progettato per funzio-

nare a porta chiusa.

– Il ruttore termico (klixon) aziona il

ventilatore dopo ± 20 minuti di funzionamento e arresta il circuito di alimentazione dei ventilatori quando il fuoco si spegne. Questo dispositivo deve essere attivato dall’installatore al momento dell’installazione del monoblocco. Attivare intensamente il fuoco per riscaldare il focolare, favorire un buon tiraggio e quindi regolare il termostato (foto 9) per ottenere il funzionamento desiderato. Consente infatti un funzionamento più confortevole ed economico. Vi consigliamo di disattivarlo se sopra lo Stûv si trova ad esempio una trave in legno.

Stûv fireplaces are designed for domestic use, in all events not to incinerate waste, whatever it may be.

Encendido

Comience por prender bolas de papel y astillas. Abra la parte delantera del registro (foto 8) y deje la puerta entrebierta para evitar que los humos se condensen en el cristal frío y dejen un depósito de hollines. Cuando las astillas hayan prendido bien, vaya poniendo leña, empezando por los trozos más pequeños, hasta que los troncos empiecen a prender ; cierre la puerta cuando el cristal tenga suficiente temperatura. Deje que el fuego prenda lo bastante como para calentar el hogar, ajuste un buen tiro y después regule el termostato (foto 9) para lograr la marcha deseada.

Observaciones importantes :

– El Stûv 15 está pensado para su

funcionamiento a puerta cerrada.

– El ruptor térmico (klixon) pone en

marcha el ventilador después de unos 20 minutos de funcionamiento, y corta el circuito de alimentación de los ventiladores cuando el fuego se apaga. Este dispositivo debe ser activado por el instalador en el momento de la colocación del hogar. Permite un funcionamiento más cómodo y más económico ; le recomendamos su desactivación si su Stûv está rematado por una viga de madera.

Lighting

First of all, set balls of paper and kindling on fire. Open the front of the ashpan (photo 8) and leave the door ajar to avoid smoke fumes condensing on the cold window and leaving a soot deposit. When the kindling is blazing, load with wood increasingly thick until the logs can catch fire. Close the door again when the window is warm enough. Start the fire rather briskly to heat the fireplace. See that there is a good draught then set the thermostat (photo 9) to obtain the required rate.

Important notes :

– The Stûv 15 is designed to operate

with the door closed. – The thermal switch (klixon) actuates

the fan after ± 20 minutes’ working

and switches off the fan supply circuit

Rechargement des combustibles

Avant de recharger, entr’ouvrir légèrement la porte pendant quelques instants (photo 10), pour favoriser l'évacuation des fumées dans la chambre de combustion.

Consommation maximum pour éviter une surchauffe : 3 kg de bois à l'heure (à titre indicatif).

Entretien

Laisser au fond du foyer un lit de cendres qui favorise la combustion et contient encore du combustible. À l’aide de la main froide, retirer le trapillon situé dans le fond de la chambre de combustion. Vider l’excès de cendres quand il y a risque d'obturer l'alimentation du feu en air frais (photos 10 et 11).

Attendre le refroidissement des cendres (utiliser une pelle ou un aspirateur à cendres) et les stocker un certain temps à l'extérieur, dans un seau métallique.

Herladen van brandstoffen

Onderhoud

Laat op de bodem van de haard een laagje as liggen : het bevordert de verbranding en bevat nog brandstof. Verwijder het luik met de handgreep. Verwijder de overtollige as wanneer de toevoer van verse lucht voor de verbranding belemmerd dreigt te worden (fotos 10 en 11).

Wacht tot de as is afgekoeld (gebruik een schop of een stofzuiger voor as) en bewaar ze een tijdje buiten, in een metalen emmer.

Vuotare l’eccesso di cenere quando vi è il rischio di otturare l’alimentazione di aria fresca al fuoco (foto 10 e 11).

Attendere che la cenere si raffreddi (utilizzare una paletta o un aspiratore per cenere) e lasciarla per un certo tempo all’esterno, in un secchio metallico.

Entretien de la vitre
