General Features: The profilo-Set is a unique state of the

art communication system especially developed for covert
communication. The set consist of the profilo earpiece and
the profilo wiring. Warning! the profilo earpiece can

only be used with the profilo wiring and vice versa.

profilo earpiece is exclusively compatible with the profilo

wiring kit. Thanks to the highest technology of Phonak the
set offers you a listening comfort never reached before.

operation: First, insert the battery. profilo requires 1 X A10
Zinc Air battery. Failure to use the correct batteries may
cause damage to the earpiece and will void the warranty.
We also recommend to use the Phonak batteries to
guaranty the best performance of a high quality product.

Inserting battery:

– open the battery holder (fig. 1) by pressing the raised

portion of the battery door.
– remove the sticker from the battery.
– with the (+) sign or hole facing inside, insert the

battery into the battery holder (fig. 2 + fig. 3). Close

the battery holder. This process switches the earpiece

ON.

Your profilo is now ready to use (fig. 1). After deciding
which ear to wear your profilo in, take it between thumb
and forefinger so that the tip with cerumen filter point
upwards. Insert the earpiece carefully into your ear canal.
To switch the earpiece OFF, open the battery door slightly
by pressing the raised portion of door (fig. 4). If the
earpiece is not used on a regular basis, remove its battery
prior to storage.

Care and Maintenance: profilo is a high tech product and
should be treated with care. Clean it after each use with a
soft tissue or other hearing aid approved cleaning material.
Check the green cerumen filter frequently. The cerumen
filter protects the profilo against blockage from earwax
and can be cleaned or replaced if required. To replace the
cerumen filter, please follow the "Cerumex Filter System”
instructions provided separately.

profilo wiring
Please remind that profilo wiring can only be used with the
profilo earpiece. Depending on the product you have choo-

sen, the wiring consist of:

a) profilo WL-Kit (wireless)

– profilo loop with integrated microphone and

appropriate connector.
– in-line press-to-talk button (PTT)
– wireless PTT device (see user manual incl.)

or

b) profilo LM-Kit (loopmic)

– profilo loop with integrated microphone and

appropriate connector.
– junction box
– wired press-to-talk button (PTT)

operation: Connect the wiring to the radio. Wrap profilo
loop round your neck and place either the wired PTT or the
wireless PTT (see wireless PTT user manual) in your hand.
Turn on the mobile radio. The profilo kit is now fully
operative.

Troubleshooting
No signal: Check profilo is switched on. Check the battery

is OK and installed with the (+) sign facing inwards. Check
the battery sticker has been removed. Check the func­tionality of the radio. Check the radio connector. Check you
use the profilo earpiece together with the profilo wiring.
Volume too low: Check that the cerumen filter is not
blocked. Increase the volume control of the radio. Check

profilo is inserted correctly.

Bips: Change the battery.

Warning!

!Keep batteries out of the reach of small children.
!Promptly seek medical attention, if batteries or profilo are
swallowed. Keep the earpiece dry. Do not store in dusty,
dirty or hot areas. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning
solvents or strong detergents to clean.

Warranty: The duration of the warranty for defects in
parts or workmanship is two years from the date of
purchase. Any responsibility for incidental or consequential
damages will be refused.

Allgemeine Leistungsmerkmale: Das profilo-Set ist ein

einzigartiges, hochmodernes System, das spezielle für
verdeckte Kommunikation entwickelt wurde. Das Set
besteht aus dem profilo-Ohrhörer und der profilo-Hör-
Sprech-Garnitur.

Achtung! Der profilo-Ohrhörer kann nur mit der
profilo-Hör-Sprech-Garnitur eingesetzt werden, und die
Hör-Sprech-Garnitur ist nur für den profilo-Ohrhörer
geeignet.

Der profilo-Ohrhörer ist ausschliesslich mit der profilo-

Hör-Sprech-Garnitur kompatibel. Dank der hochwertigen
von Phonak eingesetzten Technologie bietet Ihnen das Set
einen Hörkomfort auf bisher unerreichtem Niveau.

Betrieb: Legen Sie zuerst die Batterie ein. Der profilo
Ohrhörer benötigt eine A10 Zink-Luft-Batterie. Durch den
Einsatz ungeeigneter Batterien kann der Ohrhörer be­schädigt werden. In diesem Fall erlischt die Garantie. Wir
empfehlen für eine optimale Leistung dieses hochwertigen
Produkts den Einsatz von Phonak-Batterien.

Einsetzen der Batterie:

– Öffnen Sie das Batteriefach (Abb. 1), indem Sie auf den

erhöhten Teil der Batterieabdeckung drücken.

– Ziehen Sie die Schutzfolie von der Batterie ab.
– Führen Sie die Batterie mit dem (+)-Zeichen bzw. dem

Loch nach innen weisend in das Batteriefach ein
(Abb. 2 und Abb. 3). Schliessen Sie das Batteriefach.
Hierdurch wird der Ohrhörer eingeschaltet.

Ihr profilo ist nun betriebsbereit. Entscheiden Sie zunächst,
in welchem Ohr Sie Ihr profilo Ohrhörer tragen möchten.
Halten Sie ihn nun so zwischen Daumen und Zeigefinger,
dass die Seite mit dem Schmutzfilter nach oben weist.
Führen Sie den Ohrhörer vorsichtig in Ihren Ohrkanal ein.
Um den Ohrhörer auszuschalten, öffnen Sie die Batterie­fachabdeckung ein wenig, indem Sie auf den erhöhten Teil
der Abdeckung drücken (Abb.4). Wenn der Ohrhörer nicht
regelmässig benutzt wird, sollten Sie die Batterie
herausnehmen, wenn Sie das Gerät längere Zeit nicht in
Betrieb nehmen werden.

Wartung und Pflege: profilo ist ein High-Tech-Produkt,
das mit Sorgfalt behandelt werden sollte. Reinigen Sie es
nach jedem Gebrauch mit einem weichen Tuch oder
sonstigem Reinigungsmaterial, das für Hörhilfen empfoh­len wird. Überprüfen Sie den grünen Schmutzfilter regel­mässig. Der Schmutzfilter schützt das profilo vor Verstopf­ungen durch Ohrschmalz und kann bei Bedarf gereinigt
oder ersetzt werden. Um den Schmutzfilter zu ersetzen,
befolgen Sie bitte die Anweisungen des separat bereit­gestellten Dokuments «Cerumenfilter-System».

profilo-Hör-Sprech-Garnitur: Denken Sie bitte immer
daran, dass die Hör-Sprech-Garnitur des profilo aus-
schliesslich im Zusammenhang mit dem profilo-Ohrhörer
benutzt werden kann. Je nach dem Produkt, für das Sie
sich entschieden haben, besteht die Hör-Sprech-Garnitur
aus:

a) profilo WL-Kit (drahtlos)

– profiloschleife mit integriertem Mikrofon und

entsprechendem Funkgeräteanschluss
– in-line Push-to-Talk-Taste (PTT)
– Drahtlose PTT-Taste (siehe beiliegende Bedienungs-

anleitung)

oder

b) profilo LM-Kit (Loopmic.)

– profiloschleife mit integriertem Mikrofon und

entsprechendem Funkgeräteanschluss
– Anschlusselement
– Drahtgebundene Push-to-Talk-Taste (PTT)

Betrieb: Schliessen Sie die Hör-Sprech-Garnitur an das
Funkgerät an. Legen Sie sich die profiloschleife um den
Hals und nehmen Sie entweder die drahtgebundene oder
drahtlose PTT-Taste (siehe Bedienungsanleitung drahtlose
PTT-Taste) in die Hand. Schalten Sie das mobile Funkgerät
ein. Das profilo-Set ist nun vollständig betriebsbereit.

Störungsbehebung
Kein Signal: Überprüfen Sie, ob der profilo Ohrhörer

eingeschaltet ist. Überprüfen Sie, ob die Batterie in
Ordnung und mit der Kennzeichnung (+) nach innen
gerichtet eingelegt ist. Überprüfen Sie, ob die Schutzfolie
der Batterie entfernt wurde. Überprüfen Sie, ob das
Funkgerät ordnungsgemäss funktioniert. Überprüfen Sie
den Anschluss des Funkgeräts. Überprüfen Sie, ob Sie den
profilo zusammen mit der profilo-Hör-Sprech-Garnitur
benutzen.
Lautstärke zu niedrig: Überprüfen Sie, ob der Schmutz­filter verstopft ist. Erhöhen Sie die Lautstärkeeinstellung
am Funkgerät. Überprüfen Sie, ob der profilo Ohrhörer
korrekt eingesetzt wurde.

Pieptöne: Tauschen Sie die Batterie aus.

Achtung: !Sorgen Sie dafür, dass die Batterien sich
nicht in der Reichweite kleiner Kinder befinden. !Suchen
Sie sofort einen Arzt auf, wenn Batterien des profilo
verschluckt wurden. Halten Sie den Ohrhörer trocken.

Bewahren Sie ihn nicht in staubigen, schmutzigen oder
heissen Umgebungen auf. Verwenden Sie keine
aggressiven Chemikalien, Entfettungsmittel oder starken
Reinigungsmittel für die Reinigung.

Garantie: Die Garantiefrist für Material- oder Verarbeitungs­fehler beträgt zwei Jahre ab Kaufdatum. Es wird keinerlei
Haftung für indirekte oder Folgeschäden übernommen.

Manuel d’utilisation

Généralités: Le profilo-Set est un système de communica-

tion unique, développé spécialement pour la commu­nication discrète. Le Set consiste en une oreillette profilo
et le câblage profilo. Attention! L’oreillette profilo peut

être uniquement utilisé avec le câblage profilo et vice
versa.

L’oreillette profilo est exclusivement compatible avec le

câblage profilo. Grâce à la haute technologie Phonak, le set
offre un confort d’écoute jamais atteint auparavant.

Utilisation: Insérer en premier lieu la pile. profilo fonc­tionne avec une pile A10 zinc air. L’utilisation d’autres piles
pourrait endommager le compartiment à pile et annuler la
garantie. De plus, nous vous recommandons d’utiliser les
piles Phonak, qui vous garantissent les meilleures perfor­mances pour un produit de qualité.

Insertion de la pile:

– Ouvrir le compartiment à pile (fig. 1) en pressant la

partie bombée du compartiment.
– retirer le papier autocollant.
– Insérer la pile, le signe (+) du compartiment vers

l’intérieur(fig. 2 + fig. 3). Fermer le compartiment, ce

processus enclenchera automatiquement l’appareil.

profilo est maintenant prêt à l’emploi (fig. 1). Après avoir
choisi dans quelle oreille vous désirez le porter, tenir le
récepteur entre le pouce et l’index par l’attache de nylon,
le filtre anti-cerumen vers le haut et insérer l’appareil
délicatement dans le canal auditif. Pour éteindre
l’appareil, entrouvrir le compartiment à pile en pressant
légèrement sur la partie bombée (fig. 4). En cas d’utilisation
irrégulière, retirer la pile du compartiment après chaque
utilisation.

Précautions d’utilisation et maintenance: profilo est un
produit de haute technologie et doit être manipulé avec
précaution. Le nettoyer après chaque usage avec une
serviette désinfectante ou tout autre produit approuvé
pour les appareils auditifs. Contrôler que le filtre anti­cerumen fréquemment. Celui-ci empêche votre appareil
d’être obstrué par du cerumen. Il peut être facilement
nettoyé ou changé si nécessaire. Pour changer le filtre anti­cerumen, se reporter au mode d’emploi du «Cerumex Filter
System» fourni séparément.

Câblage profilo
Rappel: Le câblage profilo ne peut être utilisé qu’avec

l’oreillette profilo. Selon le type de produit choisi, le
câblage profilo consiste en:

a) profilo WL-Kit (wireless-sans fil)

– boucle profilo avec microphone intégré et

connecteur correspondant.
– touche PTT en ligne
– touche PTT sans fil

ou

b) profilo LM-Kit (micro/main)

– boucle profilo avec microphone intégré et

connecteur correspondent.
– boîte de jonction
– touche PTT

Utilisation: Connecter le câblage à la radio. Passer la
boucle autour du cou et prendre en main la touche PTT
câblée ou sans fil (voir manuel d’utilisation). Enclencher
l’appareil radio. Le kit profilo est maintenant en mesure de
fonctionner.

En cas de panne
Pas de signal: profilo est-il enclenché? La pile est-elle

chargée, insérée avec le signe (+) vers l’intérieur? Le papier
autocollant de la pile est-il enlevé? Le poste radio
fonctionne-t-il? Contrôler le connecteur radio. Contrôler
que vous utilisez un profilo avec le câblage profilo.
Volume trop bas: Contrôler le filtre anti-cérumen. Aug­menter le volume de la radio. profilo est-il bien en place
dans l’oreille?

Bips: Changez la pile.

Mise en garde! !Garder les piles hors de portée des en-

fants. !Si la pile ou le profilo étaient avalés, contacter im­médiatement un médecin. Maintenir au sec, à l’abri de la
poussière et de la saleté. Ne pas utiliser de produits chimi­ques durs, de solvants ou détergents puissants pour le
nettoyage. Les personnes portant un stimulateur cardiaque
(pacemaker) ou tout autre appareil médical devraient tou­jours consulter leur médecin ou le fabricant de l’appareil
avant d’utiliser un système à induction. L’utilisation d’un
système inductif avec un stimulateur cardiaque ou tout au­tre appareil médical devrait toujours être en accord avec
les recommandations de sécurité faite par le médecin ou le
fabriquant de l’appareil.

Garantie: La garantie couvre les vices de fabrication et
défaut de matière pendant 2 ans à partir de la date d’achat.
Toutes autres prétentions sont exclues.
