Read these operating instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time
and preserve this booklet for later reference. Pass this booklet on to whoever might
acquire the appliance at a future date.

Intended Use
This appliance is spraywater protected (IPX4) – thus, it can be utilised in
areas where it may be subject to being sprayed/splashed with water, e.g.
in bath and washrooms, in domestic households.
This appliance is not completely waterproof – it may not be subjected to jets
of water or completely covered with water. It is therefore not intended
for utilisation in the spray range of a shower, adjacent to baths or swimming
pools and is not suitable for use in commercial or industrial applications.

• Check to ensure that the appliance is undamaged, all component parts
are present and that all packaging remnants are removed from it.

The technical capabilities of this device make possible an adjustable frequency range that lies beyond the permitted frequency ranges of 87,5–108
MHz. In some countries, different national regulations may apply in regard to
the assigned radio frequency ranges. Note that information received from
transmissions outside the assigned radio frequency ranges may not be exploited, passed on to third parties or otherwise improperly misused.
• If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove
the batteries – batteries can discharge themselves and then leak.
• Should the batteries leak: Put on protective gloves and clean the battery
compartment with a dry cloth. Use only the type of battery detailed in the
Technical Data as replacements for discharged batteries.
• Always exchange all batteries at the same time. Always use batteries of
the same type as replacements.
• Keep batteries and cells away from small children. Should a battery be
swallowed, seek medical attention immediately, as life is at risk.
• Always check to ensure that the appliance is in a serviceable condition
before taking it into use. Should there be visible damage to the appliance,
do not take it into use.
• Do not attempt to recharge batteries. Explosion hazard!
• Ensure that sources of direct heat (e.g. heating, sunlight) cannot have an
effect on the appliance.
• Do not allow liquids to permate into the appliance, do not submerse it in
water. Avoid also a possible penetration by foreign objects.
Inserting the batteries
• Turn the upper part somewhat against the lower part , until it is
released from its retainer. Then pull the two released pieces apart.

Installation of the appliance
You can place the appliance a smooth surface by means of the suction plate.
Select a location where, should the securing loosen itself, the appliance will
not fall into water and also where it will not be seriously damaged by the fall.

Reception mode
• To switch the appliance on, turn the upper part clockwise from the
resting position. With this you can also regulate the sound volume.
To switch the appliance off, turn it anti-clockwise until it perceptibly engages.
• To search for a radio station automatically, press the rocker switch
the direction “SCAN”. The transmission range is searched in only one
direction — should a station not be found, press the rocker switch
direction “RESET”. The search then starts from the beginning.

Maintenance
• Never open any of the coverings on the appliance. Arrange for the device
to be repaired by specialists only. The appliance is maintenance-free.

Customer Services.

Cleaning and storage
Do not allow moisture to penetrate into the appliance!
The appliance could become damaged.
• Clean the appliance only with a dry or lightly moistened cloth. To avoid
potential damage to the surfaces, do not use any detergents or abrasive
cleaning agents.
• If you do not intend to use the appliance for longer than a year, remove
the batteries. Store the appliance at a dry location.
Disposal
Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the European guideline
2002/96/EC.
Dispose of the appliance through an approved dis-posal centre or at your
community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations.
In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.
Battery disposal!
Batteries may not be disposed of with normal domestic waste. All consumers
are statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries at the collection point in their
community/district or with the original supplier.
The purpose of this obligation is to ensure that batteries can be disposed of
in an environmentally friendly manner. Only dispose of batteries when they
are fully discharged.
Dispose of all packaging materials in an environmentally friendly
manner.
