OPERATIONAL NOTES

To insure trouble-free operation of your SHARP
calculator, we recommend the following:

1. The calculator should be kept in areas free from
extreme temperature changes, moisture, and
dust.

2. A soft, dry cloth should be used to clean the
calculator. Do not use solvents or a wet cloth.

3. Since this product is not waterproof, do not use
it or store it where fluids, for example water, can
splash onto it. Raindrops, water spray, juice,
coffee, steam, perspiration, etc. will also cause
malfunction.

4. If service should be required, use only a
SHARP servicing dealer, a SHARP approved
service facility or SHARP repair service.

NOTAS AL MANEJARLA

A fin de que su calculadora SHARP funcione sin
averías, le recomendamos lo siguiente:

1. Evite dejar la calculadora en ambientes en que
haya cambios de temperatura, humedad y polvo
bastante notables.

2. Al limpiar la calculadora, utilice un paño suave y
seco. No use disolventes ni tampoco un paño
húmedo.

3. Debido a que este producto no es a prueba de
agua, no deberá ser utilizado o guardado en
lugares donde pudiera ser salpicado por
líquidos, por ejemplo agua. Gotas de lluvia,
salpicaduras de agua, jugos o zumos, café,
vapor, transpiración, etc. también perjudican el
funcionamiento del producto.

4. Si necesita reparar esta unidad, diríjase sólo a
un distribuidor SHARP, a un centro de servicio

INK ROLLER REPLACEMENT

If printing is blurry even when the ink roller is in the
proper position, replace the roller.

Ink roller: Type EA-772R

WARNING

APPLYING INK TO WORN INK ROLLER OR
USE OF UNAPPROVED INK ROLLER MAY
CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO PRINTER.

1) Set the power switch to OFF.

2) Remove the printer cover. (Fig. 1)

3) Hold the top of the ink roller and remove the
roller by pulling it toward you and then upward.
(Fig. 2)

4) Install the new ink roller in the correct position.
Make sure that the roller is securely in place.
(Fig. 3)

5) Put back the printer cover.

Cleaning the printing mechanism
If the print becomes dull after long time usage,
clean the printing wheel according to the
following procedures:

1) Remove the printer cover and the ink roller.

2) Install the paper roll and feed it until it comes
out of the front of the printing mechanism.

3) Put a small brush (like a tooth brush) lightly to
the printing wheel and clean it by pressing

4) Put back the ink roller and the printer cover.

Note: • Do not rotate the printing mechanism

manually, this may damage the printer.

PAPER ROLL REPLACEMENT

Never insert paper roll if torn. Doing so will
cause paper to jam.
Always cut leading edge with scissors first.

1) Insert the leading edge of the paper roll into the

opening. (Fig. 1)

2) Turn the power on and feed the paper by

3) Lift the attached metal paper holder up and

insert the paper roll to the paper holder. (Fig. 3)

HOW TO CONNECT THE AC ADAPTOR

This machine can also be operated on AC power
by use of AC Adaptor. When the AC adaptor is
connected to the calculator, the power source is
automatically switched over from dry batteries to
AC power source.

AC adaptor: Model EA-63A, EA-28A

CAUTION

Use of other than the AC adaptor EA-63A/28A
may apply improper voltage to your SHARP
calculator and will cause damage.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT (OPTION)

To Install or Replace Batteries — When the

batteries become weak, the display will work but
not the printer. This indicates that you should
replace the batteries.

1. Set the power switch to OFF.

2. Remove the battery cover by sliding it in the

direction of the arrow on the cover.

3. Replace the batteries. Be sure that the “+” and

“–” marks on the battery correspond to the “+”
and “–” marks in the calculator. Always put back
the 4 batteries at the same time.

4. Put back the battery cover.

5. Press the RESET switch on the back of the unit.

Battery: Heavy-duty manganese battery, size

ERRORS

There are several situations which will cause an
overflow or an error condition. When this occurs,
“E” will be displayed. The contents of the memory
at the time of the error are retained.
If an “0䡠E” is displayed at the time of the error, “– –
– – – – –” will be printed in red and
used to clear the calculator.

Error conditions:

1. When the integer portion of an answer exceeds

12 digits.

2. When the integer portion of the contents of the

memory exceeds 12 digits.

REMPLACEMENT DU CYLINDRE ENCREUR

1) Placer l’interrupteur sur la position OFF.

2) Retirer le couvercle de l’imprimante. (Fig. 1)

3) Saisir le rouleau encreur à la partie supérieure
puis le tirer à soi et vers le haut en exerçant une
pression. (Fig. 2)

4) Installer le nouveau cylindre encreur dans la
position correcte. S’assurer que le cylindre soit
bien en place. (Fig. 3)

5) Remettre en place le couvercle de l’imprimante.

Nettoyage du mécanisme d’impression
Si l’impression devient faible après une longue
période d’utilisation, nettoyer la roue
imprimante en suivant les instructions ci­dessous:

1) Retirer le couvercle de l’ imprimante et le
cylindre encreur.

2) Mettre le rouleau de papier en place et faire

CAMBIO DEL RODILLO ENTINTADOR

1) Poner el interruptor de corriente en “OFF”.

2) Sacar la tapa de la impresora. (Fig. 1)

3) Sujete la parte superior del rodillo entintador y
extraiga el rodillo tirando de él hacia usted y
hacia arriba. (Fig. 2)

4) Instalar el nuevo rodillo entintador en la
posición correcta. Cerciorarse de que el rodillo
esté firmemente colocado en su sitio. (Fig. 3)

5) Poner de nuevo en su lugar la tapa de la
impresora.

Limpieza del mecanismo de impresión
Si la impresión se debilita después de usar la
calculadora durante un largo tiempo, limpiar la
rueda de impresión de acuerdo con el siguiente
procedimiento:

1) Quitar la tapa de la impresora y el rodillo
entintador.

2) Instalar el rollo de papel y hacerlo avanzar
hasta que salga por la parte delantera del
mecanismo de impresión.

3) Apoyar un cepillo pequeño (similar a un cepillo
de dientes) ligeramente sobre la rueda de
impresión y limpiarla apretando

4) Volver a colocar el rodillo entintador y la tapa de
la impresora.

Nota: • Tratar de no girar la rueda de impresión

manual-mente, de lo contrario dañará la
impresora.

CAMBIO DEL ROLLO DEL PAPEL

Nunca introduzca un rollo de papel roto. Esto
causará atascos del papel.
Corte siempre en primer lugar el borde anterior.

1) Introduzca el borde del papel del rollo de papel
en la abertura. (Fig. 1)

2) Conecte la alimentación y haga avanzar el
papel apretando

3) Levante el soporte metá lico para papel
incorporado e introduzca el rollo de papel en el
soporte. (Fig. 3)

MANERA DE CONECTAR EL ADAPTADOR DE CA

Esta calculadora puede también funcionar con
corriente alterna usando un adaptador de CA.
Cuando el adaptador de CA está conectado a la
calculadora, la fuente de alimentación se conmuta
automáticamente de pilas secas a corriente
alterna.

PRECAUCIONES

El uso de otro adaptador que no sea el EA­63A/28A podría ocasionar la entrada de una
tensión inadecuada a su calculadora SHARP y

REEMPLAZO DE LAS PILAS (OPCIONAL)

Para instalar o cambiar las pilas — Cuando se

gastan las pilas, el indicador funcionará pero no la
impresora. Esto indica que hay que cambiar las
pilas.

1. Poner el interruptor de corriente en “OFF”.

2. Sacar la tapita de las pilas haciéndola correr en
la dirección indicada por la flecha de la tapita.

3. Coloque nuevamente las pilas. Cercionarse de
que las marcas “+ ” y “–” de las pilas
correspondan a las marcas “+” y “–” de la cajita.
Siempre coloque las 4 pilas al mismo tiempo.

4. Coloque nuevamente la tapa de las pilas.

5. Pulse el interruptor RESET de la parte posterior
de la unidad.

Existen diversos casos en los que ocurre un
exceso de capacidad o una condición de error. Al
producirse esto, aparecerá “E”. Los contenidos de

RESETTING THE UNIT

Strong impacts, exposure to electrical fields, or
other unusual conditions may render the unit
inoperative, and pressing the keys will have no
effect. If this occurs, you will have to press the
RESET switch on the back of the unit. The RESET
switch should be pressed only when:

• an abnormal event occurs all keys are disabled.

• you install or replace the batteries.
Notes :

• Pressing the RESET switch will clear the stored

tax rate and other data stored in the memory.

• Use only a ballpoint pen to press the RESET

switch. Do not use anything breakable or
anything with a sharp tip, such as a needle.

• After pressing the RESET switch, turn the power

REINITIALISATION DE L’APPAREIL

Un choc violent, I’expositon à un champ électrique
et d’autres conditions inhabituelles, peuvent
empêcher le fonctionnement de I’appareil et rendre
les touches inopérantes. En ce cas, appuyez sur le
bouton RESET, placé à la partie inférieure de
I’appareil. Ce bouton RESET ne doit être utilisé

REPOSICIÓN DE LA UNIDAD

Los impactos fuertes, Ia exposición a campos
eléctricos u otras condiciones inusuales pueden
ser la causa de que la unidad no funcione, y
presionar las teclas no servirá de nada. Si pasa

Sharp Électronique du Canada Ltée (ci-après nommée “Sharp”) donne la garantie expresse suivante à l’acheteur initial du
produit ci-dessous mentionné de Sharp, si celui-ci est emballé dans son contenant original et s’il est vendu et distribué au
Canada par Sharp ou par un Détaillant autorisé Sharp .
Sharp garantit que ledit produit est, s’il est utilisé et entretenu normalement, exempt de défaut de fabrication. Si un défaut de
fabrication est décelé durant la période de garantie stipulée, Sharp s’engage à réparer ou remplacer, selon son choix, le produit
spécifié ci-dessous.
La garantie offerte par Sharp ne s’applique pas:
(a) Aux appareils qui ont été l’objet d’un emploi abusif, de négligence, d’un accident, d’une installation inadéquate ou d’une

utilisation non appropriée, tel qu’il est mentionné dans le manuel du propriétaire;

(b) Aux produits Sharp altérés, modifiés, réglés ou réparés ailleurs qu’aux bureaux de Sharp, à un Centre agréé de service

Sharp ou à un Détaillant autorisé au service Sharp;

(c) Au dommage causé ou réparation requise à la suite de l’utilisation avec des articles non désignés ou approuvés par

Sharp, y compris, mais non limité au papier, les piles ou logiciel;

(d) Au remplacement des accessoires, des pièces en verre, des articles consommables ou périphériques, devenu nécessaire

à la suite d’une utilisation normale du produit, y compris, mais sans en être limité, aux piles, le ruban, le ruban correcteur,

les adapteurs c.a., le rouleau encreur, la marguerite ou le papier;
(e) Aux défauts cosmétiques à la surface ou à l’extérieur de l’appareil, et qui sont causés par une usure normale;
(f) Aux dommages causés par des conditions extérieures et relatives à l’environnement, y compris mais non limité à du

iquide répandu, une tension de la ligne électrique ou de transmission trop élevée ou autre;
(g) Aux produits dont le numéro de série et de modèle ou le marquage CSA/CUL, ou les deux, ont été enlevés ou éffacés;
(h) Aux produits de utilisés à des fins de location.
(i) Aux coûts d’installation, configuration et/ou programmation.

Si un défaut de fabrication est décelé dans ce produit Sharp au cours de la période de la garantie, la réparation sous garantie est
offerte à la condition que le produit Sharp soit livré ainsi que la preuve d’achat et une copie de cette GARANTIE LIMITÉE à un
Centre agréé de service Sharp ou à un Détaillant autorisé au service Sharp.
La garantie ci-dessus constitue la seule garantie expresse accordée par Sharp. Aucun autre détaillant, aucun centre de service,
ses représentants ou ses employés, n’est autorisé à prolonger la durée de la garantie, à fournir des garanties autres ou à
transférer cette garantie au nom de Sharp. Dans la mesure où la loi en vigueur le permet, Sharp décline toute responsabilité
pour les pertes ou les dommages directs ou indirects, pour les pertes ou les dommages imprévus et pour les pertes de profits
indirectes résultant d’un défaut de fabrication du produit, y compris les dommages reliés à la perte de temps ou d’utilisation de
ce produit Sharp. L’acheteur doit assumer les coûts de démontage, de réinstallation, de transport et d’assurance de l’appareil.
La réparation des défectuosités, selon la manière et durant la période de temps ci-haut décrites, constitue l’exécution complète
de toutes les obligations et les responsabilités de Sharp vis-à-vis l’acheteur en ce qui a trait au produit et constituera un
acquittement complet pour toute réclamation, qu’elle soit basée sur le contrat, la négligence, la responsabilité stricte ou autre.
