PAIL & DRUM

TRANSFER KITS

Converting our ¼", ½" and ¾" plastic pumps to a drum or pail application is easy.
The adaptor kits are constructed of chemically-resistant materials to handle the job.
Plastic pipe assembly comes complete with all the hardware needed. Simply attach the
threaded end to the suction manifold
and lower it into the liquid source.

The 55-gallon Drum Transfer Kit includes
pump support legs to minimize the
vibration occurring in a diaphragm
pump.

The 120# Barrel Transfer Kit includes
a lid with adjustment screws for a snug
fit every time.

The Pail Transfer Kit also includes a lid
with adjustment screws, plus handles
for easy mobility.

Pail & Drum Adaptor Kits

for SandPIPER® and MARATHON® Conversion Instructions

Before installing, always refer to the pump Service Manual for
recommended safety precautions and part numbers.

for SandPIPER® and MARATHON® Kits

Pail Adaptor Kits 475-149-520 and
475-149-552 (Fits ¼" pump models)

1. Remove the eight machine screws, the 16 flat

washers and eight hex nuts which fasten the
suction elbows and suction manifold to the outer
chambers.

2. Remove the four machine screws, eight flat
washers, and four hex nuts which fasten the
suction elbows to the horizontal suction manifold.

3. Replace the horizontal manifold with the
518-128-520 or 518-128-552 vertical manifold
provided with the conversion kit. Make sure
the NPT port faces down (toward the feet of
the suction elbows) when reassembling.
Re-install suction elbows and new vertical
manifold to the pump.

4. Apply PTFE tape to the manifold NPT male
threads to seal the connection with the pipe
assembly. Install the 595-002-552 or
595-002-520 pipe assembly to the NPT port of
the kit vertical manifold.

5. Insert the pipe assembly through the large center
hole in the 165-087-330 pail transfer cap provided
with the conversion kit. Using the hardware
provided with the kit (four 170-032-115 hex
capscrews, four 545-003-115 hex n uts, and eight
901-035-115 flat washers), fasten the pump to
the pail transfer cap .

6. The pump and cap assembly can now be fitted
over the top of a five-gallon pail. Tighten the three
thumb screws on the pail transfer cap to secure
the cap to the pail.

Pail Adaptor Kits 475-150-520 and
475-150-552 (Fits PB½ & MP02P pump
models) 475-151-520 and 475-151-552
(Fits PB¼ & MP03P pump models)

1. Remove the four self-tapping screws and rotate

the suction manifold so the NPT port faces
down. Re-install the four self-tapping screws.

2. Apply PTFE tape to the manifold NPT male
threads to seal the connection with the pipe
assembly . Install the 595-003-520/595-003-552
pipe assembly (for kit 475-150-xxx) or
595-004-520/595-004-552 pipe assembly (for
kit 475-151-xxx) to the NPT port of the suction
manifold.

3. Insert the pipe assembly through the large
center hole in the 165-088-330 (for kit 475­150-xxx) or 165-089-330 (for kit 475-151-xxx)
pail transfer cap provided with the conversion
kit. Using the hardware provided with the kit
(four 170-032-115 hex capscrews, four 545­003-115 hex nuts, and eight 901-035-115 flat
washers), fasten the pump to the pail transfer
cap.

4. The pump and cap assembly can now be fitted
over the top of a five-gallon pail. Tighten the
three thumb screws on the Pail Transfer Cap
to secure the cap to the pail.

120# Barrel Adaptor Kits 475-161-520 and
475-161-555 (Fits PB½ & MP02P pump
models)

1. Remove the four self-tapping screws on the pump

suction manifold and rotate the manifold so the
NPT port faces down. Re-install the four self
tapping screws.

2. Apply PTFE tape to the manifold NPT male threads
to seal the connection with the pipe assembly . Install
the 595-005-555 or 595-005-520 pipe assembly to
the NPT port of the kit vertical manifold.

3. Insert the piping assembly through the large center
hole in the 165-103-000 barrel transfer cap
provided with the conversion kit. Using the
hardware provided with the kit (four 170-032-115
hex capscrews, four 545-003-115 hex nuts, and
eight 901-035-115 flat washers), fasten the pump
to the barrel transfer cap.

4. The pump and cap assembly can now be fitted
over the top of a 120# barrel. Tighten the three
thumbscrews on the barrel transfer cap to secure
the cap to the barrel.

55 Gallon Drum Adaptor Kit 031-091-520
and 031-091-555 (Fits ¼" and ½" pump
models)

1. Remove the eight machine screws, the 16 flat

washers and eight hex nuts which fasten the suction
elbows and suction manifold to the outer chambers.

2. Remove the four machine screws, eight flat washers,
and four hex nuts which fasten the suction elbows to
the horizontal suction manifold.

3. Replace the horizontal manifold with the
518-128-520 or 518-128-552 vertical manifold
provided with the conversion kit. Make sure the NPT
port faces down (toward the feet of the suction
elbows) when reassembling. Re-install suction elbows
and new vertical manifold to the pump.

4. Remove the four self-tapping screws that hold the
pump’s suction manifold to the suction elbows.

5. Rotate the suction manifold 90°, so the threaded inlet
points down.

6. Re-install and tighten the self-tapping screws.

7. Apply PTFE tape to the manifold NPT male threads

to seal the connection with the pipe assembly. Install
the 595-001-520 or 595-001-555 pipe assembly to
the NPT port of the kit vertical manifold.

8. Remove the larger bung plug from the drum and
slowly lower the pump and pipe into the barrel until
the pipe bottoms out on the drum. Snug the locknut.

9. Install the four (4) foot assemblies on the pump’s
suction elbows, using one nut and washer on both
the top and bottom foot bracket. Adjust the height of
the foot assemblies, until the rubber portion of the
foot puts a slight amount of pressure on the drum.
This will help stabilize the pump.

10.Tighten the locknut on the pipe.

1. Remove the eight cap screws, the 16 flat washers and eight hex
nuts which fasten the suction elbows and suction manifold. Rotate
the suction manifold so the NPT port faces down. Re-install the
hardware.

2. Apply PTFE tape to the manifold NPT male threads to seal the
connection with the pipe assembly. Install the 595-007-520/
595-007-552 pipe assembly (for kit 475-194-xxx) or 595-008-520/
595-008-552 pipe assembly (for kit 475-195-xxx) to the NPT port
of the suction manifold.

3. Insert the pipe assembly through the large center hole in the
165-088-330 (for kit 475-194-xxx) or 165-089-330 (for kit
475-195-xxx) pail transfer cap provided with the conversion kit.
Using the hardware provided with the kit (four 170-032-115 hex
capscrews, four 545-003-115 hex nuts, and eight 901-035-115
flat washers), fasten the pump to the pail transfer cap.

4. The pump and cap assembly can now be fitted over the top of a
five-gallon pail. Tighten the three thumb screws on the Pail Transfer
Cap to secure the cap to the pail.

120# Barrel Adaptor Kits 475-196-520 and
475-196-555 (Fits S05 and M05 pump models)

1. Remove the eight cap screws, the 16 flat washers and eight hex
nuts which fasten the suction elbows and suction manifold. Rotate
the suction manifold so the NPT port faces down. Re-install the
hardware.

2. Apply PTFE tape to the manifold NPT male threads to seal the
connection with the pipe assembly. Install the 595-009-555 or
595-009-520 pipe assembly to the NPT port of the kit vertical
manifold.

3. Insert the piping assembly through the large center hole in the
165-103-000 barrel transfer cap provided with the conversion kit.
Using the hardware provided with the kit (four 170-032-115 hex
capscrews, four 545-003-115 hex nuts, and eight 901-035-115
flat washers), fasten the pump to the barrel transfer cap.

4. The pump and cap assembly can now be fitted over the top of a
120# barrel. Tighten the three thumbscrews on the barrel transfer
cap to secure the cap to the barrel.

55 Gallon Drum Adaptor Kit 031-091-520 and
031-091-555 (Fits S05 and M05 pump models)

1. Remove the eight cap screws, the 16 flat washers and eight hex nuts
which fasten the suction elbows and suction manifold to the outer
chambers.

Rotate the suction manifold 90°, so the threaded NPT port points down.

2. Re-install the hardware.

3. Apply PTFE tape to the manifold NPT male threads to seal the
connection with the pipe assembly. Install the 595-001-520 or
595-001-555 pipe assembly to the NPT port of the kit vertical
manifold.

4. Remove the larger bung plug from the drum and slowly lower the
pump and pipe into the barrel until the pipe bottoms out on the
drum. Snug the locknut.

5. Install the four (4) foot assemblies on the pump’s suction elbows,
using one nut and washer on both the top and bottom foot bracket.
Adjust the height of the foot assemblies, until the rubber portion of
the foot puts a slight amount of pressure on the drum. This will help
stabilize the pump.

6. Tighten the locknut on the pipe.
