WARNINGS

1.7 Liter Cordless Glass Kettle

Before Use

Carefully remove your kettle from its packaging.
You may wish to store the packaging for future use. Otherwise dispose the packaging according
to the local rules on recycling.
Please read this instruction manual carefully and familiarize yourself with your new appliance
before using it for the first time. Please retain this manual for future reference.

The lightening flash with arrowhead symbol within the triangle is a warning sign
alerting the user of “dangerous voltage” inside the unit.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove the cover. No user serviceable
parts inside the unit. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.

This unit operates on 230V ~ 50Hz.
This unit must not be exposed to moisture or rain.
Ensure all connections are properly made before operating the unit.
This unit should be positioned so that it is properly ventilated. Avoid placing it, for

example, close to curtains, on the carpet or in a built-in installation such as a
bookcase.

Do not expose this unit to direct sunlight or heat radiating sources.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

Caution: For your own safety read the following instructions carefully before attempting to connect

this unit to the mains. Before switching on make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is
the same as that indicated on the rating plate.
This unit is designed to operate on AC 230V 50Hz current only. Connecting it to other power
sources may damage the unit. Do not allow this unit to be exposed to rain or moisture.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT

The mains lead of this product is not replaceable by the user.
If the mains lead is damaged, it must only be replaced by an authorised dealer.

Before first use, fill with water to the maximum mark, bring to the boil and discard - this
will ensure that your kettle is perfectly clean.

• Boiling water and steam can cause serious burns. Always place your kettle on a stable,
flat surface and only use the base supplied. Always allow the appliance to cool completely
before cleaning or storage.

• Make sure that the voltage indicated on the rating plate (located
on the underside of the kettle) is the same as the supply voltage in your home. If not, do
not use the kettle and return it to your dealer.

• After the kettle has switched off automatically, there may be a short delay before it can be
re-boiled - this is usually no more than 20 seconds.

• The safety cutout will operate if you accidentally switch your kettle on when it is empty.
Wait 15 minutes for the cutout to reset before refilling with cold water.

• Never immerse the kettle or base in water (or any other liquid) and do not allow water to
penetrate its electrical parts to prevent electrical hazards.

• Ensure that the kettle and its mains cable are kept out of the reach of children and pets.
Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used near children.

• The outside surface will get very hot during use. Always take care when handling your kettle.

• Always ensure that the kettle is switched off before removing from the base unit.

• Beware of steam being emitted from the spout or lid, especially during refilling.

• This kettle is intended for normal household use only.

• This kettle is intended for boiling water only, nothing else.

• It must not be used for anything other than its intended purpose.

• Do not use this appliance outside.

• Do not insert any objects into holes or slots in this appliance.

• This appliance must not be placed on or near any objects that heat up (such as a gas
or electric hob).

• Do not allow the mains lead to hang over the edge of the work surface, touch sources
of heat or become knotted.

• Do not operate this appliance if the mains lead or plug are damaged, or if the appliance
malfunctions or is damaged in any way. Check the mains lead regularly for signs of
damage.

• No user-serviceable parts inside - refer to qualified service personnel.

Do not overfill as boiling water may be ejected from the spout.

To fill the kettle remove it from the base.
Lift the lid. Fill to the desired level between the MIN (0.5 liter) and MAX (1,7 liter) marks on the
water gauge.
Close the lid by pressing firmly until you hear a click and place back on the base.

Switching On

To switch the kettle on, push the On/Off switch (D) up. The Power Indicator (G) will light.

Switching Off

When the water has boiled the kettle will switch off automatically. You can stop the boiling process
at any time by pressing the On/Off switch down.

Never open the lid if steam is coming from the spout.

USING THE KETTLE

NOTE:
Before first use, fill with water to the maximum mark, bring to the boil
and discard - this will ensure that your kettle is perfectly clean.
Place the supplied descaling filter fixing the hooks in the spout, by sliding it down in the
location and pressing gently from the top to hook it on.

Position the kettle on a stable flat
surface out of the reach of children and
close to a mains supply socket.

required to reach the mains socket.

Descaling

Descale your kettle at least twice a year sing a proprietary descaling solution (follow the
manufacturers instructions carefully).
Alternatively, half fill the kettle with water, add the juice of a lemon or some vinegar, then boil and
allow to stand for 15 minutes. Repeat the process and allow to stand again.
Finally, boil and rinse thoroughly before use.

Make sure that the mains power cable is not placed where it can beinadvertently pulled or pinched.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Cleaning

Disconnect from the mains supply before cleaning.
Use a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the kettle.
Never use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning agents as these may damage the finish of your
kettle.

Cleaning the Filter

The filter is located inside the kettle behind the spout. Rinse with warm water and gently
remove any scale with a soft brush.

Vor dem Gebrauch

Vorsichtig das Gerät aus der Verpackung nehmen.
Wer möchte, kann die Verpackung für einen zukünftigen Gebrauch aufbewahren. Sonst
umweltgerecht entsorgen.
Bitte lesen Sie aufmerksam diese Bedienungsanleitung, um sich mit Ihrem neuen Gerät
vertraut zu machen, bevor Sie ihn zum ersten Mal in Betrieb nehmen. Bitte bewahren Sie
diese Anleitung auf, um später jederzeit nachschlagen zu können.

Um die Gefahr elektrischer Schläge auszuschliessen, Gehäuse auf keinen Fall
abnehmen. Im Innern befinden sich keine vom Benutzer selbst instandsetz-baren
Teile. Reparaturen dürfen nur von einer autorisierten Fachwerkstatt durchgeführt
werden.

Dieses Gerät ist für 230V ~ 50Hz Netzspannung ausgelegt.
Setzen Sie das Gerät weder Feuchtigkeit noch Regen aus.
Schalten Sie das System erst dann ein, wenn Sie alle Verbindungen genau geprüft

haben.
Stellen Sie das Gerät so auf, dass immer eine ungestörte Frischluftzufuhr

sichergestellt ist. Es ist zum beispiel keinesfalls auf Teppiche und in der Nähe von
Gardinen zu stellen oder in Bücherregale einzubauen.

Setzen Sie das Gerät weder direkter Sonneneinstrahlung noch Wärmequellen aus.

Korrekte Entsorgung dieses Produkts (Elektromüll)

Die Kennzeichnung auf dem Produkt bzw. auf der dazugehörigen Literatur

ELEKTRISCHE SICHERHEIT

Hinweis: vor dem Anschließen des Haushaltsgerätes an das Stromnetz aufmerksam diese

Sicherheitsanweisungen durchlesen. Sich vergewissern, dass die elektrische Spannung
des Stromnetzes die gleiche ist, wie auf dem Geräteschild angegeben ist.
Dies Elektrogerät ist für den Betrieb mit 230 V AC 50 Hz entwickelt worden. Sollte es an
irgendeine andere Stromquelle angeschlossen werden, kann das zu Schäden am Apparat
führen. Das Gerät nicht Regen oder Feuchtigkeit aussetzen.

SICHERHEITSANWEISUNGEN

WICHTIG
Das Stromkabel dieses Produktes ist nicht vom Benutzer auswechselbar.
Sollte das Stromkabel beschädigt sein, darf es einzig und allein von einem autorisierten
Fachhändler ausgewechselt werden.

Vor seinem ersten Gebrauch bis zum Maximalwasserstand mit Wasser befüllen, das
Wasser zum Kochen bringen und dann weggießen - dies gewährleistet, dass der
Wasserkocher perfekt sauber ist.

• Kochendes Wasser und Dampf können schwerwiegende Verbrühungen verursachen.
Den Wasserkocher auf eine ebene und stabile Fläche stellen und nur die mitgelieferte

Grundplatte benutzen. Vor dem Reinigen und Wegstellen des Wasserkochers immer
abwarten, dass dieser sich komplett abkühlen konnte.

• Sich vergewissern, dass die elektrische Spannung des Stromnetzes die gleiche ist,
wie auf dem Geräteschild angegeben ist. Sollte das nicht der Fall sein, den
Wasserkocher nicht verwenden und zum Fachhändler zurückbringen.

• Nachdem sich der Wasserkocher automatisch ausgeschaltet hat, kann eine leichte
Verzögerung auftreten, bevor das Gerät für den nächsten Betrieb bereit ist.
Normalerweise beträgt die Wartezeit 20 Sekunden.

• Der automatische Sicherheitsstopp funktioniert dann, wenn man ungewollt den leeren
Wasserkocher einschaltet. Nach dem automatischen Stopp 15 Minuten abwarten, bevor
man den Wasserkocher erneut mit kaltem Wasser befüllt.

• Niemals den Wasserkocher oder seine Grundplatte in Wasser (oder eine andere
Flüssigkeit) eintauchen und darauf achten, dass kein Wasser in die elektrischen Teile
eindringen kann, um elektrische Schläge zu vermeiden.

• Sich vergewissern, dass der Wasserkocher und sein angeschlossenes Stromkabel
außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern und Haustieren sind. Strenge Aufsicht ist dann
geboten, wenn das Gerät in der Nähe von Kindern benutzt wird.

• Die Außenfläche wird beim Betrieb sehr heiß. Immer aufpassen, wenn man den
Wasserkocher benutzt.

• Sich vergewissern, dass der Wasserkocher immer ausgeschaltet ist, wenn man ihn
von seiner Grundplatte hebt.

• Sich vor dem Dampf in acht nehmen, der aus der Tülle oder dem Wasserkocherdeckel
strömt, insbesondere wenn man ihn erneut befüllt.

• Dies Gerät ist nur für den normalen familiären Gebrauch bestimmt.

• Das Gerät ist nur für den Zweck zu verwenden, für den es entwickelt wurde.

• Der Wasserkocher ist ausschließlich zum Kochen von Wasser.

• Dies Gerät nicht draußen verwenden.

• Keine Gegenstände in die Gerätelöcher oder -ritzen stecken.

• Dies Gerät ist nicht in die Nähe oder auf einem Gegenstand abzustellen, der Wärme
produziert (wie z.B. eine Kochplatte oder eine mit Gas arbeitende Kochstelle).

• Darauf achten, dass das Stromkabel nicht über den Rand der Arbeitsplatte herausragt,
Wärmequellen berührt oder verknotet ist.

• Dies Gerät nicht betreiben, wenn das Stromkabel oder der Netzstecker beschädigt
sind, oder wenn das Gerät schlecht funktioniert oder in irgendeiner Weise beschädigt
ist. Regelmäßig das Stromkabel auf eventuelle Schäden untersuchen.

• Es gibt im Inneren keine Teile, die der Benutzer selbst reparieren könnte. Sich für die
erforderliche Wartung an qualifiziertes Personal wenden.

Deckelöffnung

Den Wasserkocher auf eine ebene
und stabile Fläche stellen, außerhalb
der Reichweite von Kindern und in
der Nähe einer Steckdose.
Der untere Teil der
Wasserkochergrundplatte hat eine
Vorrichtung zum Aufwickeln des
Kabels, wie in Abb. 1 gezeigt wird.
Soviel Kabel abwickeln wie
notwendig ist um die Steckdose zu
erreichen. Das Kabel in eine der drei
vorhandenen Grundplattenschlitze
stecken, damit die Grundplatte flach
auf dem Tisch aufliegt.
