• Provides a PC based display, independent of size
and resolution, connected to:
– any IntelliVue X2, MP2, MP5, MP5SC, MP60-90
or MX600, MX700 or MX800 patient monitors
(release G.0 or later) with the Remote Display
functionality.
– any IntelliVue MX400, MX450, MX500 or
MX550 patient monitors (release K.2 or later)
with the Remote Display functionality.
• Provides an alternative, large display for IntelliVue
Patient Monitors with a small built-in display.
• The content displayed on the Remote Display can
be different from the currently selected Screen on
the IntelliVue Patient Monitor.
• External applications, for example, Hospital Information Systems,
Patient Lab data, can be started - with patient context - using the
integrated XDS LaunchPad.
• The network infrastructure service provides the functionality to print
reports from the patient monitor. The reports can be printed on any
locally controlled printer connected to a USB Port or the network.
Alternatively the report can be stored on the local file system (PDF,
PNG, JPG, TIF, GIF and BMP).
Description
The IntelliVue XDS Application provides the following components:
• Network services
• Printing services
• Patient monitor Remote Display
• LaunchPad
• Input Device Sharing services
•XDS Database
The Network services included in the XDS Application provide the
required services to build a small network even without an Information
Center (IP addresses, a list of available printers, time synchronization).
The Printing services allow all IntelliVue Patient Monitors on a
network to print reports on locally controlled printers configured on
the PC. Alternatively reports can be stored on the local file system in
PDF, PNG, JPG, TIF, GIF or BMP formats1. When an Information
Center is present in the network, this is responsible for remote
printing.
The Remote Display2 allows the remote display of an IntelliVue
Patient Monitor screen on a PC which is connected to the same
network. It can as well be configured to allow remote operation of the
patient monitor. It is intended to be used as an additional independent
display for viewing and operation by clinicians and nurses.
The LaunchPad3 makes it possible to launch PC applications from:
•SmartKeys4 on IntelliVue MP60-MP90, MX400-MX800 patient
monitors
• an application list inside the LaunchPad
• A button on the Windows Toolbar
• An icon on the Desktop
When appropriate, LaunchPad can pass the patient context
information as well as log-on information to the applications at start up.
LaunchPad can also tell an application being launched to position itself
on a specific display, at a specific position and with a specific size (if the
application permits). The Clinical Workstation solution - option X30 -
with IntelliVue XDS software enhances the functionality of Philips
high-acuity IntelliVue monitors by providing fast, convenient access to
patient-focused clinical information from hospital information systems.
XDS allows you to create a flexible, customizable clinical workspace,
combining patient monitoring views and IT applications, with the ability
to interact among them to enhance patient care.
Input Device Sharing services5 allows you to use the same mouse
and keyboard on IntelliVue MP60-MP90 and MX400-MX800 patient
monitors, and the PC where the XDS Application is installed, for
example, when the two systems are located side by side.
The XDS Database6 collects and stores vital signs information
(numeric data only - no waves) from one connected monitor, for
example, HR, pressure, etc. The database can be used by other
applications that require continuous access to patient monitoring data.
The database can be queried using SQL
The XDS Application is available as software only package that can be
installed on your own hardware, the operating system requirements
being:
•Windows Vista SP2
• Windows 7 SP1 (32 & 64 bit)
• Windows 8.1 (32 & 64 bit)
• Windows server 2008 R2 SP1
• Windows Server 2012
