1. Field of application

Progression ice screw.
The LASER SPEED S ice screw, having a short 10 cm tube, has a maximum pull­out strength that is less than the 10 kN regulatory requirement (EN 568). Because of
this, it cannot be considered as PPE.
Use the S ice screw only when the ice thickness prevents you from using a M, L or
XL ice screw.
This product must not be pushed beyond its limits, nor be used for any purpose
other than that for which it is designed.

3. Inspection, points to verify

Petzl recommends a detailed inspection at least once every 12 months. Follow the
procedures described at Petzl.com.

Before each use

On the product, verify the absence of any cracks, deformation, marks, wear,
corrosion...
Check the general condition and sharpness of the teeth. Check the condition of
the threads.
Make sure that the crank folds up properly.

During use

It is important to regularly monitor the condition of the product and its connections
to the other equipment in the system. Make sure that all items of equipment are
correctly positioned with respect to each other.

4. Compatibility

Verify that this product is compatible with the other elements of the system in your
application (compatible = good functional interaction).

5. Screwing/unscrewing

Screwing

Choose the thickest and most homogeneous ice possible. Avoid areas of soft,
aerated or cracked ice. Clean the surface of the ice.
The quality of the ice determines the holding power of the ice screw. The screwing
force must be uniform for the ice screw to maintain good holding power.

Unscrewing

Quickly remove the ice core from the tube. Do not tap the threads.

6. Maintenance

After each use, dry out your ice screws.
Sharpen your ice screw with a file (see our video: How to sharpen and maintain ice
screws at Petzl.com), or use the LIM’ICE.

7. Supplementary ice screw information

A. Lifetime: unlimited
When to retire your equipment:

WARNING: an exceptional event can lead you to retire a product after only one
use, depending on the type and intensity of usage and the environment of usage
(harsh environments, marine environments, sharp edges, extreme temperatures,
chemicals...).
A product must be retired when:

- It has been subjected to a major fall (or load).

- It fails to pass inspection. You have any doubt as to its reliability.

- You do not know its full usage history.

- When it becomes obsolete due to changes in legislation, standards, technique or
incompatibility with other equipment...
Destroy these products to prevent further use.

1. Champ d’application

Broche à glace de progression.
La broche LASER SPEED S, ayant un tube court de 10 cm, a une résistance
maximale à l’arrachement inférieure à l’exigence réglementaire de 10 kN (EN 568).
De ce fait, elle ne peut être considérée comme un EPI.
Utilisez la broche S uniquement lorsque l’épaisseur de glace ne vous permet pas
d’utiliser une broche M, L ou XL.
Ce produit ne doit pas être sollicité au-delà de ses limites ou dans toute autre
situation que celle pour laquelle il est prévu.

3. Contrôle, points à vérifier

Petzl conseille une vérification approfondie, par une personne compétente, au
minimum tous les 12 mois. Respectez les modes opératoires décrits sur le site

Avant toute utilisation

Sur le produit, vérifiez l’absence de fissures, déformations, marques, usure,
corrosion...
Vérifiez l’état général des dents et leur affûtage. Contrôlez l’état du filetage.
Veillez à ce que la manivelle se replie correctement.

Pendant l’utilisation

Il est important de contrôler régulièrement l’état du produit et de ses connexions
avec les autres équipements du système. Assurez-vous du bon positionnement des
équipements les uns par rapport aux autres.

4. Compatibilité

Vérifiez la compatibilité de ce produit avec les autres éléments du système dans
votre application (compatibilité = bonne interaction fonctionnelle).

5. Brocher/débrocher

Brocher

Choisissez la glace la plus épaisse et la plus homogène possible. Évitez les zones
de glace tendre, aérée ou craquelée. Nettoyez la glace de surface.
L’état de la glace détermine la tenue de la broche. L’effort de vissage doit être
homogène pour une bonne tenue de la broche.

Débrocher

Retirez rapidement la carotte de glace du tube. Ne tapez pas sur le filetage.

6. Entretien

Après chaque utilisation, séchez vos broches.
Affûtez votre broche à la lime (voir notre vidéo Comment affûter une broche sur
Petzl.com) ou utilisez le LIM’ICE.

7. Informations complémentaires broches

Mise au rebut :

ATTENTION, un événement exceptionnel peut vous conduire à rebuter un produit
après une seule utilisation (type et intensité d’utilisation, environnements d’utilisation
: milieux agressifs, milieux marins, arêtes coupantes, températures extrêmes,
produits chimiques...).
Un produit doit être rebuté quand :

- Il a subi une chute importante (ou effort).

- Le résultat des vérifications du produit n’est pas satisfaisant. Vous avez un doute
sur sa fiabilité.

- Vous ne connaissez pas son historique complet d’utilisation.

- Quand son usage est obsolète (évolution législative, normative, technique ou
incompatibilité avec d’autres équipements...).
Détruisez ces produits pour éviter une future utilisation.

Veillez à bien sécher vos broches après chaque sortie. Remettez le bouchon sur
la broche.

1. Anwendungsbereich

Eisschraube zur Fortbewegung.
Die maximale Ausreißfestigkeit der LASER SPEED Eisschraube in Größe S
(Schaftlänge 10 cm) liegt unterhalb des von der Norm (EN 568) geforderten Wertes
von 10 kN. Sie kann daher nicht als PSA angesehen werden.
Verwenden Sie die S-Eisschraube nur, wenn die Dicke der Eisauflage den Einsatz
einer M-, L- oder XL-Eisschraube nicht zulässt.
Dieses Produkt darf nicht über seine Grenzen hinaus belastet werden. Es darf
ausschließlich zu dem Zweck verwendet werden, für den es entwickelt wurde.

Aktivitäten, bei denen diese Ausrüstung zum Einsatz kommt, sind
naturgemäß gefährlich.

2. Benennung der Teile

3. Überprüfung, zu kontrollierende Punkte

Petzl empfiehlt, mindestens alle 12 Monate eine eingehende Überprüfung durch
eine kompetente Person durchführen zu lassen. Bitte beachten Sie die auf Petzl.
com beschriebenen Vorgehensweisen.

Vor jedem Einsatz

Überprüfen Sie das Produkt auf Risse, Deformierungen, Kratzer, Abnutzungs- und
Korrosionserscheinungen usw.
Kontrollieren Sie, ob die Zähne scharf und in gutem Zustand sind. Kontrollieren Sie
den Zustand des Gewindes.
Achten Sie darauf, die Kurbel richtig einzuklappen.

Während des Gebrauchs

Es ist unerlässlich, den Zustand des Produkts und seiner Verbindungen mit anderen
Ausrüstungsgegenständen im System regelmäßig zu überprüfen. Stellen Sie stets
sicher, dass die einzelnen Ausrüstungsgegenstände im System richtig zueinander
positioniert sind.

4. Kompatibilität

Überprüfen Sie die Kompatibilität dieses Produkts mit den anderen Elementen Ihres
Systems (Kompatibilität = funktionelles Zusammenspiel).

5. Ein-/Ausdrehen der Eisschraube

Eindrehen

Platzieren Sie die Schrauben in möglichst dickes und homogenes Eis. Vermeiden
Sie Bereiche mit morschem, röhrigem oder Blumenkohleis. Schaffen Sie eine
möglichst ebene Eisoberfläche.
Die Eisqualität ist für den Halt der Eisschraube ausschlaggebend. Der Widerstand
beim Einschrauben der Eisschraube sollte möglichst gleichmäßig sein, um einen
guten Halt im Eis zu gewährleisten.

Ausdrehen

Entfernen Sie das Eis aus dem Schaft. Schlagen Sie nicht auf das Gewinde.

6. Pflege

Trocknen Sie die Eisschrauben nach jedem Gebrauch.
Schleifen Sie die Eisschraube mit der Feile (siehe Video „So wird eine Eisschraube
geschliffen“ auf Petzl.com) oder benutzen Sie das LIM’ICE Schleifgerät.

7. Zusätzliche Informationen über
Eisschrauben

A. Lebensdauer: unbegrenzt
Aussondern von Ausrüstung:

ACHTUNG: Außergewöhnliche Umstände können die Aussonderung eines
Produkts nach einer einmaligen Anwendung erforderlich machen (Art und Intensität
der Benutzung, Anwendungsbereich: aggressive Umgebungen, Meeresklima,
scharfe Kanten, extreme Temperaturen, Chemikalien usw.).
In folgenden Fällen muss ein Produkt ausgesondert werden:

- Nach einem schweren Sturz (oder Belastung).

- Das Produkt fällt bei der PSA-Überprüfung durch. Sie bezweifeln seine
Zuverlässigkeit.

- Die vollständige Gebrauchsgeschichte ist nicht bekannt.

- Das Produkt ist veraltet (Änderung der gesetzlichen Bestimmungen, der
Normen oder der technischen Vorschriften, Inkompatibilität mit anderen
Ausrüstungsgegenständen usw.).
Zerstören und entsorgen Sie diese Produkte, um ihren weiteren Gebrauch zu
verhindern.

Denken Sie daran, die Eisschrauben nach jedem Gebrauch zu trocknen. Versehen

1. Campo di applicazione

Chiodo da ghiaccio di progressione.
Il chiodo LASER SPEED S, avendo un corpo cilindrico corto di 10 cm, ha una
resistenza massima all’estrazione inferiore al requisito normativo di 10 kN (EN 568).
Per questo motivo non può essere considerato un DPI.
Utilizzare il chiodo S esclusivamente quando lo spessore di ghiaccio non vi
consente di utilizzare un chiodo M, L o XL.
Questo prodotto non deve essere sollecitato oltre i suoi limiti o in qualsiasi altra
situazione differente da quella per cui è destinato.

Prima di ogni utilizzo

Verificare sul prodotto l’assenza di fessurazioni, deformazioni, segni, usura,
corrosione...
Verificare lo stato generale dei denti e la loro affilatura. Controllare lo stato della
filettatura.
Assicurarsi che la manovella si pieghi correttamente.

Durante l’utilizzo

È importante controllare regolarmente lo stato del prodotto e dei suoi collegamenti
con gli altri dispositivi del sistema. Assicurarsi del corretto posizionamento dei
dispositivi gli uni rispetto agli altri.

4. Compatibilità

Verificare la compatibilità di questo prodotto con gli altri elementi del sistema nella
vostra applicazione (compatibilità = buona interazione funzionale).

5. Chiodare/schiodare

Chiodare

Scegliere il ghiaccio più spesso e più omogeneo possibile. Evitare le zone di
ghiaccio soffice, areato o fratturato. Pulire il ghiaccio di superficie.
Le condizioni del ghiaccio determinano la tenuta del chiodo. La forza d’infissione
deve essere omogenea per un’ottima tenuta del chiodo.

Schiodare

Rimuovere rapidamente la carota di ghiaccio dal tubo. Non battere sulla filettatura.

6. Manutenzione

Dopo ogni utilizzo, asciugare i chiodi.
Affilare il chiodo con la lima (vedi nostro video «Come affilare un chiodo» su Petzl.
com) o utilizzare il LIM’ICE.

7. Informazioni supplementari chiodi

A. Durata: illimitata
Eliminazione:

ATTENZIONE, un evento eccezionale può comportare l’eliminazione del prodotto
dopo un solo utilizzo (tipo ed intensità di utilizzo, ambiente di utilizzo: ambienti
aggressivi, ambienti marini, parti taglienti, temperature estreme, prodotti chimici...).
Il prodotto deve essere eliminato quando:

- Ha subito una forte caduta (o sforzo).

- Il risultato dei controlli del prodotto non è soddisfacente. Si ha un dubbio sulla
sua affidabilità.

- Non si conosce l’intera storia del suo utilizzo.

- Quando il suo utilizzo è obsoleto (evoluzione delle leggi, delle normative, delle
tecniche o incompatibilità con altri dispositivi...).
Distruggere i prodotti scartati per evitarne un futuro utilizzo.

Assicurarsi di asciugare bene i chiodi dopo ogni uscita. Rimettere il tappo sul
chiodo.
