Read the operating instructions for the unit and all other com­ponents of your car audio system carefully before using the system. They contain instructions about how to use the sys­tem in a safe and effective manner. Panasonic assumes no responsibility for any problems resulting from failure to observe the instructions given in this manual.
This manual uses pictographs to show you how to use the product safely and to alert you to potential dangers resulting from improper connections and operations. The meanings of the pictographs are explained below. It is important that you fully understand the meanings of the pictographs in order to use this manual and the system properly.

The driver should not neither adjust the unit nor make a pair while driving.
Adjusting this unit or establishing the pairing between this unit and a Bluetooth-ready device will distract the driver from look­ing ahead of the car and accordingly can cause accidents. Always stop the car in a safe location and use the parking brake before adjustment or making a pair.

Warning
Use the proper power supply (12 V).
This product is designed for operation with a negative grounded 12 V DC battery system. Never operate this prod­uct with other battery systems, especially a 24 V DC battery system.
Do not disassemble or modify the unit.
Do not disassemble, modify the unit or attempt to repair the product yourself. If the product needs to be repaired, consult your dealer or an authorized Panasonic Service Center.
Do not use the unit when it is out of order.
If the unit is out of order (no power, no sound) or in an abnormal state (has foreign objects in it, is exposed to water, is smoking, or smells), turn it off immediately and consult your dealer.
Stop using this unit and a Bluetooth-ready device whenever requested.
This unit shares the communication frequency with other private or public wireless communication equipment such as a wireless LAN and other wireless communication radios. You should stop using this unit whenever you are notified that your unit disturbs other wireless communication imme­diately.
Observe the following warnings when installing. (including whole assembly of the devices for system up)
Disconnect the lead from the negative (–) battery terminal before installation.
Wiring and installation with the negative (–) battery terminal connected may cause electrical shock and injury due to a short circuit. Some cars equipped with the electrical safety system have specific procedures of battery terminal disconnection.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE MAY LEAD TO THE UNINTENDED ACTIVATION OF THE ELECTRICAL SAFETY SYSTEM RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
Never use safety-related components for installa­tion, grounding, and other such functions.
Do not use safety-related vehicle components (fuel tank, brake, suspension, steering wheel, pedals, airbag, etc.) for wiring or fixing the product or its accessories.
Installing the product on the air bag cover or in a location where it interferes with airbag operation is prohibited.

Warning
Check for piping, gasoline tank, electric wiring, and other items before installing the product.
If you need to open a hole in the vehicle chassis to attach or wire the product, first check where the wire harness, gaso­line tank, and electric wiring are located. Then open the hole from outside if possible.
Never install the product in a location where it inter­feres with your field of vision.
After installation and wiring, you should check the normal operation of other electrical equipment.
The continuation of their using in abnormal conditions may cause fire, electrical shock or a traffic accident.
In the case of installation to an airbag-equipping car, confirm warnings and cautions of the vehicle manufacturer before installation.
Make sure the leads do not interfere with driving or getting in and out of the vehicle.
Insulate all exposed wires to prevent short circuit­ing.
If there seem to be something wrong with the sys­tem, park your car in a safe place and identify the abnormality.

Caution

Keep the sound volume at an appropriate level.
Keep the volume level low enough to be aware of road and traffic conditions while driving.
This unit is designed for use exclusively in automo­biles.
Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight or exces­sive heat.
Otherwise these will raise the interior temperature of the unit, and it may lead to smoke, fire, or other damage to the unit.
Do not use the product where it is exposed to water, moisture, or dust.
Exposure of the unit to water, moisture, or dust may lead to smoke, fire, or other damage to the unit. Make especially sure that the unit does not get wet in car washes or on rainy days.

Refer wiring and installation to qualified service personnel.
Installation of this unit requires special skills and experience. For maximum safety, have it installed by your dealer. Panasonic is not liable for any problems resulting from your own installation of the unit.
Follow the instructions to install and wire the prod­uct.
Not following the instructions to properly install and wire the product could cause an accident or fire.
Take care not to damage the leads.
When wiring, take care not to damage the leads. Prevent them from getting caught in the vehicle chassis, screws, and moving parts such as seat rails. Do not scratch, pull, bend or twist the leads. Do not run them near heat sources or place heavy objects on them. If leads must be run over sharp metal edges, protect the leads by winding them with vinyl tape or similar protection.

Caution
Do not install the product where it is exposed to strong vibrations or is unstable.
Avoid slanted or strongly curved surfaces for installation. If the installation is not stable, the unit may fall down while driving and this can lead to an accident or injury.
Make sure that wiring is completed before installa­tion.
To prevent damage to the unit, do not connect the power connector until the whole wiring is complet­ed.
Secure the mobile phone to prevent it from moving while driving.

What users can do with CY-BT200N
Connection of this unit to a head unit (CQ-DX200N, for example) allows users to perform the functions described below.
Listening to the audio system (Bluetooth audio)
Combination of this unit and a Bluetooth-ready mobile phone or audio device allows users to play the phone or device through this unit.
Hands-free conversation on a mobile phone (Hands-Free Kit)
Combination of this unit and a Bluetooth-ready mobile phone allows users to have hands-free conversation on the phone.
¡ Telephone picking up ¡ Callback with use of the call register
This unit is designed only for receiving calls with taking account of safety. No call can be made with this unit.
(But a call-back call can be made.)
This unit does not support the voice dial function.
Note:
¡ A certain distance shall be provided between this unit and the
Bluetooth-ready device. Failure to observe this may cause low quality tone or bad connection condition.
¡ Do not use this unit and other wireless devices at the same
time. Failure to observe this may cause interference between this unit and those devices.
¡ Bluetooth connection will shorten the battery life of the
Bluetooth-ready device.
¡ This unit cannot support the cable connection mobile phones. ¡ This unit (only 1 unit) is connectable to the head unit through
the Expansion Module (CY-EM100N, option) as well as con­nectable to the head unit directly.

Bluetooth
®
The Bluetooth word mark and logo are owned by the Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and any use of such marks by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.,Ltd. is under license. Other trademarks and trade name are those of their respective owners.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a name of the wireless communication technology for the mobile information equipment such as portable PCs, PDAs, mobile phones, etc. These devices can be connected each other without cables and communicate each other. Bluetooth uses 2.45 GHz band’s wave that can be used without a license. Bluetooth chips are relatively small and their power con­sumption is low. Communication service distance of Bluetooth is approximately 10 m.
Bluetooth profile
Bluetooth profile is a standard protocol used in Bluetooth com­munications settled for each category of the communication equipment. This hands-free unit supports the following Bluetooth profiles: HFP (Hands-Free Profile), OPP (Object Push Profile), A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video
Remote Control Profile)
Link key
This is an up to 16-byte password used for device identification. Entering the same PIN number of the device to be connected allows identification. Once identification is completed, the Link key is established. Identification is enabled without input of the Bluetooth Pin Number from next time thanks to holding the Link key at both sides.
PIN (Personal Identification Number)
This is a password used for self identification.
Pairing
Pairing is authentication between 2 Bluetooth devices with using a link key. Pairing allows Bluetooth devices to communicate each other.

Receiving a call
When a call comes in, the state indicator blinks rapidly.

Note:
¡ Bluetooth connection will make the battery life of mobile
phone shorter.
¡ Depending upon the mobile phone, the display backlight of a
mobile phone remains on when the ignition switch is in the ACC ON position. In this case, you should turn off the backlight with the mobile phone (
\ Manual of your mobile phone).
¡ Do not turn off the power of the Head unit during a phone
conversation. Otherwise, some mobile phones cut the conver­sation.
¡ In some cases such as the manner mode, the ring tone is dis-
abled while the ring tone is set to off.
Automatic reconnection
When you get out of the car, turning off the power of the Head unit allows auto­matic disconnection of communication between this unit and the mobile phone. After communication is disconnected, the mobile phone can be used as usual. When you get in the car, turning on the power of the Head unit allows automat­ic connection of communication between this unit and the mobile phone. (Some mobile phone models require automatic connection setting. In some cases, connection setting is required on the selection screen appearing on the mobile phone while connection is established.) After communication is con­nected, the hands-free function is available.
Caution
¡ Telephone conversation during driving may result in conse-
quences adverse to safety. Follow your local laws and regu­lations.
¡ Appropriately adjust the volume of incoming calls in
advance (

Calling back
A callback call can be made. However, the callback function is disabled after disconnecting Bluetooth communication. (e.g. communication disconnection between the Hands Free Kit with Audio Streaming featuring Bluetooth

disconnection by turning off the power of the Head unit)

Note: Some mobile phones cannot display the telephone num­ber of an incoming call or callback.
Rejection of incoming calls
Press the [Hang-up] to reject an incoming call.

You can disconnect Bluetooth temporarily.

Troubleshooting
If You Suspect Something Wrong
Check and take steps as described below. If the described suggestions do not solve the problem, it is recommended to take the unit to your nearest authorized Panasonic Service Centre. The product should be serviced only by qualified personnel. Please refer the checking and the repair to professionals. Panasonic shall not be liable for any accidents arising out of neglect of checking the unit or your own repair after your checking.
Warning
¡ Do not use the unit in an irregular condition, for exam-
ple, without sound, or with smoke or a foul smell, which can cause ignition or electric shock. In case that such conditions occur, immediately stop using this unit and consult your dealer.
¡ Never try to repair the unit by yourself because it is dan-
gerous to do so.

With regard to some devices, reconnection cannot be automatically performed.
Turn off the power of the Bluetooth-ready device, and then turn on the power of the
device again.
The Link key of the Bluetooth-ready device is different from that of this unit.

delete “Panasonic BT200” from the pairing list of the Bluetooth-ready device.

accompany the echo

Distance between the microphone and the speaker is too short.
Keep sufficient distance between the microphone and the speakers or decrease
the volume of voice (Refer to the manual of your Head unit.).
Echo may be produced depending on the line status or mobile phone to be used.
CY-BT200N (this unit) cannot receive a call.
The head unit is set to OFF.
Turn on the power of the head unit.
CY-BT200N (this unit) is set to the disconnection mode.
Cancel the disconnection mode.
Your mobile phone is out of service area.
Drive your car to the service area of your mobile phone.
