IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using your electric skillet, basic safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using this appliance.
2. Be sure that handles are assembled and fastened properly per this manual. See
instructions regarding assembly of handles on page 5.
3. Do not touch hot surfaces, use handles.
4. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the variable temperature control,
cord or plug in water or other liquids.
5. This appliance is not to be used by children or by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities.
6. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children. Children
should not play with the appliance.
7. Unplug the appliance from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow
appliance to cool before putting on or taking o parts and before cleaning appliance.
8. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged CORD or PLUG, or after the appliance
malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return to an authorized Oster
service facility for examination, repair or electrical or adjustment. Do not attempt to
replace or splice a damaged cord.
9. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer
may cause injuries.
10. Do not use outdoors.
11. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
12. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
13. Use extreme caution when moving the appliance if it contains hot oil or any other hot
liquid.
14. Always attach the variable temperature control to the appliance rst, then plug into
the wall outlet. To disconnect, switch o, remove plug from the wall outlet, then
remove the variable temperature control from the appliance.
15. Only use the appliance with the OSTER® Strain & Pour Electric Skillet variable
temperature control probe P/N 193787.
16. Do not use appliance for anything other than its intended use.
17. Do not cook with the OSTER® Strain & Pour Electric Skillet or the OSTER® Electric Skillet
variable temperature control probe standing on temperature sensitive surfaces.
18. To prevent the risk of burns, never ll oil in the skillet pan more than 1/2 inch
(12.7 mm) high.
19. This appliance is not intended for deep frying foods.

THIS UNIT IS INTENDED FOR
HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug, (one blade is wider than
the other). As a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical
shock, this plug is intended to t in a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied electrician. Do
not attempt to defeat this safety feature or modify the plug in any way. If the plug ts loosely
into the AC outlet or if the AC outlet feels warm do not use that outlet.
POWER CORD INSTRUCTIONS:
A short power-supply cord or detachable power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks
resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable
power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in
their use. If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used on short-cord
models:
a. The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
b. When the product is of the grounded type, the extension cord shall be a grounding type
3-wire cord; and
c. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table
top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

HOW TO:
ASSEMBLING THE HANDLES
NOTE: Do not use the skillet without
handles attached.
1. Unpack your unit and locate the
handles and 4 Phillips screws included.
2. Place the skillet face down onto a
clean, at surface.
3. Place one handle onto the mounting
studs making sure the holes align with the holes under skillet
pan.
4. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, attach 2 screws and at
washers through holes in the leg into the skillet. Do not
overtighten.
CAUTION: Overtightening can result in stripping of screws or
nuts or cracking of handle or feet.
5. Repeat the procedure with the second handle.

INTRODUCTION
Before using your new appliance, wash the inside of the pan with
warm, soapy water; rinse and dry thoroughly. Remove the
temperature controller before washing the skillet.
CAUTION: Do not immerse variable temperature control, power
cord or plug in water or any other liquids.
The OSTER® Strain & Pour Electric Skillet is now ready for use.
USING THE OSTER® ELECTRIC SKILLET
1. Place the unit--with the drain spout facing away from you--on a
at, level, heat-resistant surface, allowing enough space around
the unit for heat to ow without causing damage to walls or
cabinets.
CAUTION: Hot steam escapes through the straining holes and
drain spout during the cooking cycle.
2. Push the temperature controller rmly into its socket found at
the side of the appliance.
3. Make sure the variable temperature control is set to O and plug
cord into a standard 120 Volt AC outlet.
CAUTION: Always plug temperature control probe into skillet
rst, then plug power cord into wall outlet.
4. Set the temperature by turning the knob on the temperature
controller. The indicator light will illuminate. Turn the knob until
the desired temperature is opposite the indicator light. When the
skillet reaches the chosen cooking temperature, the indicator
light will turn o. During cooking, the light will blink on and o,
indicating that the temperature is being maintained. Guidance in
the choice of temperatures is provided later in this book.
5. Do not cook with the Electric Skillet standing on temperaturesensitive surfaces.
6. For simmering, set the temperature control to 300˚F, wait until
contents boil, then set the temperature controller to WARM.
NOTE: Use only nylon, wood or heatproof plastic cooking
utensils. Do not use metal utensils, as they may scratch the
ceramic surface.
7. When cooking is nished, either turn the variable temperature
control to the Warm setting to keep food at serving temperature
or turn to O position if ready to serve. The On indicator light will
shut o.
8. To remove the temperature controller, rst unplug from the wall
outlet, and then gently remove the variable temperature control
probe from the skillet.
CAUTION: The probe is hot after use. Allow to cool before
handling.
9. Preheating is not required when using this product.
NOTE: During initial use, a slight smoke and/or odor may be
present; this is normal due to the manufacturing process and is no
reason for concern.

DRAINING EXCESS LIQUID/OIL
The tempered glass lid of your Strain & Pour Electric Skillet is
designed with two ergonomic thumb tabs on each side that, along
with its integrated straining holes and drain spout, make it easier to
strain excess liquid.
1. Make sure the lid is securely in place.
2. Unplug power cord from electrical outlet.
3. Remove variable temperature control probe from the unit.
4. Firmly hold both handles with your hands then place one thumb
on top of each thumb tab on the lid.
5. Pressing the thumb tabs rmly, while still holding the handles,
tilt the skillet away from you and drain any excess liquid through
the spout into a bowl.
CAUTION: Burn hazard. Contents of skillet and its outer surfaces
are hot. Always pour away from your body.
6. Carefully, place skillet back in cooking position. You can remove
the lid to check food or add ingredients.
7. To continue cooking, place lid over the skillet pan and plug
control into the skillet then plug unit into wall outlet.
8. Set temperature control to desired setting to continue cooking.

CARE & CLEANING
Your Titanium Infused DuraCeramic™ Skillet should be
cleaned after every use.
1. Turn the variable temperature control to O. Unplug the skillet
and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
NOTE: To protect the Titanium Infused DuraCeramic™ coating,
do not run cold water over cooking surface immediately after
use.
2. Remove variable temperature control probe. DO NOT IMMERSE
VARIABLE TEMPERATURE CONTROL PROBE, cord or plug in water
or any other liquid.
3. The skillet and the lid are HAND WASH ONLY. Wash with hot,
soapy water; skillet may be immersed in water. Rinse and dry
thoroughly.
4. DO NOT use steel wool or other metal pads as this may scratch
the surface.
NOTE: Never use abrasive cleaning agents to clean your
appliance as this may damage the surfaces.
5. Wipe the temperature control with a damp cloth and wipe dry.
CAUTION: The VARIABLE TEMPERATURE CONTROL PROBE must
always be completely dry before use.
For proper care of your Titanium Infused DuraCeramic™
coated skillet, follow the following steps if stubborn stains
appear:
1. Sprinkle some baking soda on the stained area.
2. Add enough water to moisten the baking soda, making a paste
like texture.
3. Let sit for a few minutes (for tougher stains let sit up to an hour).
4. Lightly scrub with a plastic scouring pad or damp cloth and dry
thoroughly.
5. Repeat if necessary.
Should any stubborn stains appear, they will not aect the
performance and nonstick quality of the Titanium Infused
DuraCeramic™ coating.
STORAGE & MAINTENANCE
• Unplug unit and allow to cool. Never store unit while it is hot.
• Clean and thoroughly dry the skillet before storing.
• For convenience, the temperature control probe can be stored
inside the covered electric skillet.
• To avoid scratching the nonstick surface, place a paper towel into
the skillet.
