Featuring a 24mm to 50mm Auto-Zoom Head and full TTL controls.
Innovative Design: Operates in combination with Nikon’s built-in SLR speedlights providing increased power. Easy two-light on camera TTL flash system ­SB-50DX in bounce position and built-in speedlight operating with TTL precision.
Compact and Powerful: Guide Number of 72 (ISO 100/feet) at 35mm position when used as accessory speedlight. Combined Guide Number of 82 (ISO 100/feet) when used in combination with N80 or N65’s built-in speedlight.
3D Multi-Sensor Balanced Fill-Flash:
With D1 Series, F5, F100, N90s and N80 35mm AF SLR cameras. Matrix Balanced Fill-Flash with N65.
Wireless Slave Flash with TTL Auto Control: Perfect for multiple flash set-ups.
Operates with other Nikon TTL speedlights as well as built-in speedlights on N80 and N65. Can be used on camera to trigger other off-camera Nikon TTL speedlights using SW-9IR filter provided.
Close-Up Flash Photography Made Easy: Minus 18 degree tilt position of
SB-50DX accommodates AF Nikkor lenses engaged in close-up to a mere 11.8 inches
New Safety Lock System: Locking system assures positive contact between SB-50DX and SLR in use.
14mm Wide Flash Adapter: Wide Flash adapter for use with lenses as wide as 114° angle of view.
Flash Compensation: Built-in Flash compensation from +/-3EV in 1/3 EV Steps
AF Assist Illuminator: Illuminator automatically lights up when light is insufficient for accurate autofocus.
Note: TTL multiple flash not possible with D1. Instead set all speedlights to manual power mode.
