install the battery
Note:
Insert the battery so that you can access the flexible battery removal tab when the battery is in place. (See “remove the battery.”)

Remove the battery door by pressing slightly and pushing it toward the top of the phone.

Lift the battery door off.

Insert the battery by aligning the metal contacts first and then gently pressing it into place.

Replace the battery door by aligning the small hooks and then sliding the door into place.

Pull up on the flexible battery removal tab to remove the battery from the phone.

New batteries are not fully charged.
Plug the battery charger into your phone and an electrical outlet.
Note:
Make sure to move the charging port door out of the way to fully attach the charger to your phone.
Your phone might take several seconds to start charging the battery. When the battery is fully charged, the charging light turns off, and the phone displays

Motorola batteries have circuitry that protects the
battery from damage from overcharging.

With the flip closed and the phone on, you can press the touch keys on the external display to go to recent calls, music player, or your message inbox. The keys appear when you close the flip or press the side keys:
Press the touch keys until you feel a slight vibration to open a feature.

what music transfer tools do you need?
To put music on your computer and then load it on your phone, you need:
Microsoft® Windows® XP™ or Windows Vista™ operating system
for importing and loading music to your phone or removable memory card, you need the Alltel Music software, which you can download for free at

do you need a memory card?
Your phone supports removable microSD memory cards up to 2 GB. SanDisk is the recommended brand of cards greater than 1 GB.
If you don’t have a memory card, you can store files on your phone, but you are limited by the amount of space.

Your phone can play many types of files: MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, and M4A.
Note:
