The McIntosh MCD201 has been designed from the ground up to meet
the needs of the audiophile.

It’s purpose-designed transport spins CDs at 4 times normal read speed
and SACD discs at 2 times normal read speed giving the laser multiple
chances to extract and refocus through imperfect discs resulting in fewer
errors. With this extraordinary level of tracking ability and error correction,
the MCD201 gives new life to many previously unplayable discs.

High performance Multi-Bit D/A converters assure wide dynamic range and
ultra low distortion. Both PCM and DSD discs are played without digital glare
yet deliver all of the imaging, nuance and air that is present on the disc.

The high performance dedicated headphone amp with front panel 1/4"
jack partners with the finest headphones. Front panel Mute switch allows
personal headphone listening while muting the rear panel outputs.

A unique feature to the player is a precision analog volume control on
both the front panel and remote that allows direct connection to a power
amplifier for a CD player only system. An amplifier and speakers are all
that is needed. Both balanced and unbalanced variable outputs swing
up to 6 volts to effortlessly drive any power amp directly.

BETTER DISC TRACKING
