Printheads

Printheads are replaceable components that connect to PICs through
a simple slide-on mechanism. With the DS9100 and DS9050 Systems,
you can stitch up to two printheads together for a total print width of

17.92 inches (455 cm).

Printhead Interface Controller (PIC) Function

Each print station supports one or two Printhead Interface Controllers
(PICs). A PIC box contains the electronics, software and fluidics for

Print station function

A print station houses the electronics and software that manage the
pumps, valves and filters that control the flow of ink, replenisher and
cleaning fluids for the continuous inkjet Kodak Versamark Printheads.
It also controls various physical properties of fluids—including
temperature, pressure and ink concentration.
