Quidway® AR 46 Router ADSL Interface Module
Overview
The ADSL interface card of the AR46 router provides the telephone line based ADSL access. The
LAN user can use ordinary telephone line to connect Digital Subscriber's Loop Access Multiplexer
(DSLAM) and then connect ATM/IP backbone or Internet through DSLAM, to imp lement high-speed
data communication and video on demand. The ADSL occupies the high band after 26 KHz to
provide the data transmission service, so it will not affect the voice service on the same line
(occupying 0 – 4 KHz low band). Usually , it can prov ide 32 Kbps – 8 Mbp s downlink rate and 3 2 K –
1 Mbps uplink rate for users.
The main function of the ADSL interface card in the system is to provide the ADSL interface for
router, includi ng the following functions:
Support activating/deactivating the ADSL line manually and SAR loop mode and provide a
convenient fault location way.
Support three interface standards, G.DMT, G.Lite and T1.413, and the adaptive mode.
Support the network coding function (except the G.Lite standard) of ADSL interface and
enhance the stability of ADSL connection.
At present, the AR46 router supports two ADSL modules: 1-port ADSL interface module and 2-port
ADSL interface module.

In the Full rate mode, it can reach 1.8 Km at most (namely, 6000 feet. The
maximum transmission distance is related to the quality of line).
Service provided
On ordinary telephone line it also provides the ADSL access.
