HP Photosmart 3310, Photosmart 3310xi Service Manual

The HP Photosmart 3100/3300 All-in-One series devices have been designed to work with the Distinctive Alert Faxability Service in New Zealand. However, in order to work, the Answer Ring Pattern for these devices must be set to Single Rings. The Single Rings option has been specifically designed to work with the Distinctive Alert Faxability Service. You can change this setting from the control panel.

To change the answer ring pattern from the control panel
Verify that your HP All-in-One is set to answer fax calls automatically. For

2 Press Setup. 3 Press 4, then press 1. 4 Press!until Single Rings appears. 5 Press OK.

6 Not all telephones will respond to incoming ringing when connected to the
extension s ocket.
7 This device only responds to Distinctive Alerts DA1, DA2, and DA4. 8 When receiving a DA4 (Faxability) ring signal, setting the Rings to Answer to less
than 3 will result in des tro yed C aller ID informatio n if a Caller ID devi ce is connected to the same line. For information on setting the Rings to Answer , see the U se r Guide that came with your HP All-in-One.
9 When receiving fax calls from a telephone that is on the same line as the HPAll-in-
One (by pressing 1, 2, 3 on the phone), the tones generated by the telephone must be at least 65 milliseconds in duration or greater. For information, contact your telephone company or telephone manufacturer.
