Safety instructions
KEEP ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE!
Always place pot on a heat-proof surface when hot and not on an
unprotected work surface.
While cooking, it is very important not to leave pots containing
hot grease unattended. Grease can overheat and burst into flame
easily. Should you experience a grease fire, do not attempt to put
it out using water! Suffocate the flames with a pot lid or a thick
blanket.
Make sure not to heat the pot when empty. To prevent damage to the non-stick coating, use kitchen aids made
of heat-proof plastic or wood. Do not cut any food items located
in the pot.
Do not place any dripping wet meat in hot grease. A fire can
easily be caused by grease spraying onto the hot hob.

Please note that the handles may become hot during
cooking. For your protection, use potholders or oven
mitts.

To prevent heat loss, choose a hob of appropriate size for the
pot's bottom.
Do not push or pull the pot across glass ceramic, halogen or
induction hobs.
The pot is not microwave-proof. The enamel surface is not suited for dry cooking. Always use a
little butter or vegetable oil and make sure that the pot's bottom is
fully covered before heating the pot.
The pot is ovenproof! Place the pot on an oven rack and not
directly on the floor of the oven.
FOOD-SAFE! This pot has no effect on the flavor and
aroma of food items.
§ Use
Before first use, fill the pot with water and bring to a boil 2 to 3
times to remove any possible production residue.
Do not heat the pot too quickly. The enamel coating may crack if
the cast iron expands more quickly than the enamel.
Note:
The nubs beneath the lid help induce circulation within the pot
while cooking. Rising steam condenses on the lid and is distributed
evenly on the cooking food items via the nubs. This results in your
food remaining juicy and retaining its flavor.
Due to the excellent heat storage capacity of enameled cast
iron, high temperatures are seldom necessary. Begin cooking at
medium heat and then bring down to a simmer.

§ Cleaning and care
Always allow the pot to cool down before cleaning. Never
submerge the pot in cold water when hot. Such a temperature
shock may damage the enamel. Do not fill the pot with cold water
when hot.
The pot is dishwasher-proof. However, cleaning the pot frequently
in the dishwasher may cause the enamel to lose its sheen. This
is not a sign of damage to the product and has no effect on its
performance. We nonetheless recommend cleaning the pot with
hot water and off-the-shelf detergent.
Soak stubborn stains and food residue before removing them with
a wooden scraper, sponge or brush.
Do not use any hard objects, steel wool and/or aggressive or
abrasive cleaning agents such as chlorine bleach as such products
will damage the enamel.
After cleaning, dry the pot thoroughly. Treat the pot's rim with
vegetable oil from time to time to prevent rust formation.
Store the pot at a dry and well-ventilated location.
m CAUTION! Please note that enamel may be damaged due to
dropping or strong blows.
§ Disposal
The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials,
which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.
Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to
dispose of your worn-out product.

TARVETTA VARTEN!
