Safety instructions and warning
• Read instruction for use before operating the device.
• Security foot: The device is delivered with a safety foot (No.
8
), so
that the device can be put down safely and easily. Important: The safety foot (No. 8) is firmly screwed onto the gas tank (No. 5). Make sure you put down the device on a horizontal surface, so that it does not drop over.
• KEEP THE DEVICE AND THE REFILL CYLINDER ALWAYS AWAY
FROM CHILDREN.
• Do not use any device that leaks (you can smell the gas) or is damaged or does not work properly! (risk of injury).
• Do not check for leaks with a naked flame, use soupsuds.
• Do not touch the burner if hot (risk of burns)!
• The burner is still very hot after switching off the flame. Avoid touching the burner.
• Caution: Accessible parts can get very hot. Keep the device away from children. Do not put the ignited burner down (risk of fire). Do
not leave the device unattended if it is on. Caution! Also after use do not place the hot burner on inflammable materials (risk of fire). Very important: During breaks and at the end of each usage switch off the flame immediately. - (risk of burns).
• Keep the nozzle protected from dust and do not let the device fall down. These are the most common causes of defects.
• Use the device only in properly ventilated places and in sufficient distance from combustible sources or inflammable materials.
• Keep the device always away from the face, body or clothes, if it is switched on and in operation.
• Do not expose the device to temperatures over 50°C. Store the device protected from direct sunlight.
• Propane/butane is an extremely flammable gas, handle with care.
• Make sure that after each use the flame adjustment lever (No. 2) is
in position , the continuous flame lever (No. 6) is in position OFF and the flame is completely extinguished.
• Let the device cool down after use before you store it.
• Do not use the device continuously for longer than 15 – 20 minutes. Allow a cooling period of 5 – 10 minutes afterwards, refill the gas if necessary and ignite the device again.
• Do not make any modifications to firmly assembled parts of the device.
• Never use the device near heat sources or near an open flame.
• Do not open up the device by drilling or likewise.
• Take note of all safety regulations and precautions listed on the refill gas cylinder.
• Do not keep the device unattended when it is operated or during the cooling down phase.
• Do not keep the device and the refill gas near heat sources (heaters, electrical appliances, ovens or strong sun radiation, etc).
• The device is not suitable to ignite charcoal grills because of a too strong return heat – risk of burns.
• The device does not have electrical insulation. Work only on devices or on parts of devices which are completely without electrical power.
• Do not shake the device before and during operation. Otherwise there is a danger that the liquid gas can get into the burner and a reddish blazing uncontrolled flame could occur. The combustibility of the device is then disturbed. In such a case immediately slide the continuous flame lever (No.
6
) into position OFF. The gas supply stops and
no further gas can escape uncontrolled.
• IMPORTANT: After igniting the burner in a proper way, let it preheat for a short time (appx. 1 minute) until the burner head has reached the optimal operation temperature.
• Any repairs must be carried out only by an authorized specialist dealer for liquid gas. In case of a repair bring the device back to the shop where you have purchased it. From here it can be sent for maintenance and repair back to the manufacturer.
Test for Leaks
If gas leaks out of your device (you can smell gas), take it immediately to a place with a good air circulation and no inflammable sources, where you can look for the leak and fix it. Be very careful to test leak tightness of your device only outside. Never seek leaking connections using a flame. Always spread soapsuds over the connections (e.g. a half a glass of water + 10 drops of washing-up liquid) or use a leak-seeking-spray!
Intended use
This handy gas burner is an ideal helper in your kitchen. It is ideal for caramelizing sweets, e.g. crème brûlée. The culinary torch is also suitable for the production of a crisp crust on roast and poultry. It is Ideal for flaming, for peeling off peppers and tomatoes, as well as gratinating of cheese (onion soup, etc.).
Filling/refilling of gas
This burner is for dispatch and safety reasons delivered without a gas filling. Before putting into operation please fill the device at the
bottom side through the gas filling valve (No.
7
) with provided
propane/butane refill gas for lighters (also see picture ). Afterwards make sure that the gas filling valve (No.
7
) is tightly closed. Take a half glass of water with 10 drops of washing-up liquid and brush the gas filling valve with it (No.
7
). If there is a leak you will see little bubbles
forming.
• Use only supplied propane/butane gas mixture (e.g. the supplied
cylinder No. 70891 or refill cylinders No. 48899, No. 52103). Alternatively you can also use refilling gas for lighters which contains only butane. The refilling gas must by no means contain a higher propane amount than the supplied refilling gas (see inscription on cylinder of the provided refill gas).
• To fill the gas it is important to close first the flame adjustment lever
at the burner (No.
2
). In this case slide the flame adjustment lever to
position ⊖.

• Insert the cylinder filling nozzle of the refill gas (see picture Ⓐ) pointing down vertically onto the gas filling valve of the burner (No.
7
). For best results use pumping actions. After filling/refilling wait a few minutes so that the gas becomes stabilized. Ignite only after this procedure.
• Filling must be carried out outside and in a distance from all possible igniting sources, such as open flames, pilot lights, electrical cooking appliances and away from other persons. Do not smoke when filling the device (Risk of explosion in case of non-observance).
Use the device only in well ventilated rooms.
Ignition/Adjustment of the flame
At first fill the device with the supplied gas for lighters as shown on
the picture. Press (pump) the cylinder several times at the gas filling valve.
Flame adjustment
: When igniting the device position the flame ad-
justment lever in the middle between min. and max. . With the flame adjustment lever you can adjust the flame length (small/big). You can adjust the length of the flame during the use by moving the flame adjustment lever (picture ) back and forth. Sliding towards causes a stronger flame, towards a weaker flame.
Release the safety latch of the piezo ignition
: Simply push down the red safety latch, which is under the piezo ignition button, and release it.
Ignite
: Press now piezo ignition button and hold it.
Attention: The piezo ignition button (picture ) can be pressed only
if the red release safety latch (picture ), which is underneath, has been pushed down. Note: If the piezo ignition button (picture ) is not pressed in correctly, the safety latch (picture ) springs up immediately and it is not possible to press the ignition button or to ignite the device. If this happens start the ignition process from the beginning!
Continuous flame
: Hold the piezo ignition button pressed and at
the same time slide the red continuous flame lever (as the black lower arrow indicates in picture ) to the position LOCK – ready. The flame of the device burns now continuously.
Switch off the device
: To extinguish the flame, simply release the
piezo ignition button. If the continuous flame lever is in position LOCK, slide it into the OFF position (see picture ). The device is switched off.
