Using the LCD Screen

Adjusting Control Panel Position

You can adjust the position of the control panel to make it easier to access. Raise or lower it to the desired angle as shown.

Changing LCD Screen Language

You can change the language used on the LCD screen.
1. Pressthe home button, if necessary.
2. Pressthe left or right arrow button and then select Setup.
3. Scrolldown and select Basic Setup.
4. Scrolldown and select Language.
5. Selecta language.
6. Pressthe home button to exit.

Turning Off Control Panel Sounds

You can turn off the sound heard when you press buttons on the control panel.
1. Pressthe home button, if necessary.
2. Pressthe left or right arrow button and then select Setup.
3. SelectPrinter Setup.
4. SelectSound.
5. SelectButton Press.
6. Selectthe Off setting.
7. Pressthe home button to exit.

Turning Off Auto Selection Mode

Auto Selection Mode changes the menu options on the LCD screen automatically depending on the action you perform. For instance, loading a memory card displays memory card-related menu options on the screen. You can turn off this feature from the product's control panel.
1. Pressthe home button, if necessary.
2. Pressthe left or right arrow buttons and select Setup.
3. Scrolldown and select Guide Functions.
4. SelectAuto Selection Mode.
5. Turnoff the desired options displayed on the screen.

Turning On Quiet Mode

You can reduce the noise the product makes by turning on the Quiet Mode option. Note: Turning on this setting may reduce print speed.
1. Pressthe home button, if necessary.

4. Scrolldown and select Quiet Mode.

The Sleep Timer

The product enters sleep mode if it is not used for a period of time. You can adjust the time period before sleep mode, but increasing the time reduces the product's energy efficiency.

Using Epson Email Print

With Epson Email Print, you can print from any device that can send email, such as your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Just activate your product's unique email address. When you want to print, attach a PDF, Microsoft Office document, or photo and send an email to your product.

Using Google Cloud Print

With a Google Account, you can print from your Apple or Android device to your Epson product. You can also print from Chromebooks and the Google Chrome browser without drivers or cables.
If you are setting up your product for the first time, set up your Epson product for network printing as described on the Start Here sheet.
Note: Make sure your Epson printer and computer are connected to the same network before starting the Google Cloud Print setup.
If your product is already on your network, follow these steps:
1. Connectyour device to the same network that your Epson product is using.
2. Printa network status sheet.
3. Locateyour product's IP address on the network status sheet.
4. Enterthe IP address into the address bar of a web browser.
5. Selectthe Google Cloud Print Services option. Note: If you don't see the Google Cloud Print Services option, turn your product off and back on. If
the option still doesn't appear, select the Firmware Update option and follow the on-screen instructions to update your product.
6. ClickRegister.
7. Selectthe check box to agree to the Usage Advisory and click Next.

8. ClickOK to launch the sign-in page. A separate browser window opens.
9. Enteryour Google Account username and password and click Sign in, or, if you don't have an account, click Sign up for a new Google Account and follow the on-screen instructions.
10. Click Finish printer registration to complete setup and print a test page. Your product is now linked to your Google Account and can be accessed from any Chromebook,
computer, Apple or Android device with internet access. Visit Epson Support for more information on using Google Cloud Print, or the Google Cloud Print website for a list of supported apps.

You can select or change wireless network settings using your product control panel. To install your product on a wireless network, follow the instructions on the Start Here sheet and install
the necessary software from the product CD. The installer program guides you through network setup. Note: Breakdown or repair of this product may cause loss of fax and network data and settings. Epson is
not responsible for backing up or recovering data and settings during or after the warranty period. We recommend that you make your own backup or print out your fax and network data and settings.

3. SelectWi-Fi Setup Wizard. Note: If you need to disable the wireless network to set up your product on an Ethernet network,
scroll down and select Disable Wi-Fi instead. Then follow the instructions on changing to a wired network connection in this guide.
4. Selectthe name of your wireless network or enter the name manually. Note: To enter the wireless network name manually, scroll down and then select Other Networks.
Use the displayed keypad to enter your network name, as described in the next step.
5. Enteryour wireless password (or network name and then password) using the displayed keypad.
Note: The network name and password are case sensitive. Be sure to correctly enter uppercase and lowercase letters, and numeric or special characters.
• Press the touch screen buttons repeatedly to scroll through characters.
• Press or to move the cursor.
• Press 1 Symb. to enter symbols.
• Press to delete the previous character.
6. PressDone when you’re finished entering your password.

7. Confirmthe displayed network settings and select Proceed to save them. Note: If you need to change a setting, press the back button.

Changing or Updating Network Connections

Wi-Fi Direct Mode Setup

You can set up your product to communicate directly with your computer or another device without requiring a wireless router or access point.

Your product automatically selects one of these modes to communicate with your computer or device:
Access point mode
If your product is not already connected to a wireless network, it enters access point mode and the product itself acts as the network access point for up to 4 devices. When operating in this mode, your product displays an AP connection symbol on the LCD screen.
Peer-to-peer mode
If your product is already connected to a wireless network, it enters peer-to-peer mode and disconnects from any other networks. This also disables any other product features requiring access to the Internet. When operating in this mode, your product displays a Direct or D connection symbol on the LCD screen.
Note: To disconnect a peer-to-peer mode connection, release the connection to your product from your computer or other device. Your product will reconnect to the previously used network.

You can enable Wi-Fi Direct mode to allow direct communication between your product and computer or other devices without a wireless router or access point.

Note: Your password must be at least 8 and no more than 22 characters long.

directly to your product from your computer or device. Note: If the AP or Direct connection symbol is not displayed on the LCD screen, Wi-Fi Direct mode
is not enabled. Repeat these steps to try again.

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)

If your network uses a WPS-enabled wireless router or access point, you can quickly connect your product to the network using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).
Note: To check if your router is WPS-enabled, look for a button labeled WPS on your router or access point. If there is no hardware button, there may be a virtual WPS button in the software for the device. Check your network product documentation for details.

You can load envelopes in Cassette 2 (lower cassette) as described here. You can print on plain paper envelopes in this size: No. 10 (4.1 × 9.5 inches [105 × 241 mm]).

Placing Originals on the Scanner Glass

You can place originals up to this size on the scanner glass: Letter (8.5 × 11 inches [216 × 279 mm]) or A4 (8.3 × 11.7 inches [210 × 297 mm]).
1. Openthe document cover.
2. Placeyour original facedown on the scanner glass with the top of the original facing into the corner shown. Slide the original to the edges of the indicated corner.
Note: You can place multiple originals on the scanner glass. Just make sure they are at least 0.20 inch (5 mm) away from each other and from the edge of the scanner glass.

3. Ifyou are copying two book pages onto one sheet, place the book as shown to copy the first page, then turn the book as shown to copy the second page.
4. Closethe document cover gently to keep your original in place.

You can place multi-page original documents in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). Make sure the originals meet the Automatic Document Feeder specifications before loading them.
Caution: Make sure your originals are not creased or folded, and do not contain holes, staples, tape, or other materials that could obstruct the feeder.

2. Slidethe ADF edge guide outward.
3. Fanyour stack of originals and tap them gently on a flat surface to even the edges.

Copying and Restoring Photos

You can restore the colors in faded photos as you copy them.
1. Loadphoto paper in the product.
2. Pressthe home button, if necessary.
3. SelectMore Functions.
4. SelectCopy/Restore Photos.
5. SelectOn.
6. Placeup to two original photos on the product. Note: View the LCD screen for instructions on placing your photos on the product.
7. Pressthe start button.
8. Press+ or – to select one or more copies of the photo (up to 99).
9. Ifyou placed two originals on the scanner, press the left or right arrow button to view the second original, then press + or – to select one or more copies of the photo (up to 99).
10. To adjust your print and copy settings, do one or more of the following:
• To change the print settings, select Settings, and select the necessary settings.
• To adjust the copy image, select Edit > Photo Adjustments, then select your settings.
• To add a B&W filter to the copy, select Edit > Filter, then select the B&W setting.

• To crop or zoom into your photo, select Edit > Crop/Zoom, then press the icons displayed on the
LCD screen to crop your image.
11. When you are ready to print, press the startbutton.

Printing From a Computer

Before printing from your computer, make sure you have set up your product and installed its software as described on the Start Here sheet.
Note: If you have an Internet connection, it is a good idea to check for updates to your product software on Epson's support website. If you see a Software Update screen, select Enable automatic checking and click OK. The update scans your system to see if you have the latest product software. Follow the on-screen instructions.

You can adjust the Color Management settings on the Advanced tab to fine-tune the colors in your printout, or turn off color management in your printer software.
Color Controls
Lets you select a Color Mode setting, individual settings for Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, and Density, and individual color tones. Depending on the selected color mode, you can also adjust the midtone density using the Gamma setting.

• To cancel printing, click Cancel.
• To see print jobs lined up for printing, click Print Queue.

Selecting Default Print Settings - Windows

When you change your print settings in a program, the changes apply only while you are printing in that program session. If you want to change the print settings you use in all your Windows programs, you can select new default print settings.
1. Right-clickthe product icon in the Windows taskbar.
2. SelectPrinter Settings. You see the printer settings window:

3. Selectthe print settings you want to use as defaults in all your Windows programs.
4. ClickOK.
These settings are now the defaults selected for printing. You can still change them as needed for printing in any program session.

Changing Automatic Update Options

Your printer software for Windows automatically checks for updates to the product software. You can change how often the software checks for updates or disable this feature.
1. Right-clickthe product icon in the Windows taskbar.
2. SelectSoftware Update Settings. You see this window:

• To change how often the software checks for updates, select a setting in the Check every menu.
• To disable the automatic update feature, select the Never option.
4. ClickOK to exit.

Select the basic settings for the document or photo you want to print.
1. Opena photo or document for printing.
2. Selectthe print command in your application. Note: You may need to select a print icon on your screen, the Print option in the File menu, or
another command. See your application's help utility for details.
3. Selectyour product as the Printer setting.
4. Ifnecessary, click the arrow next to the Printer setting or the Show Details button to expand the print window.

You can select any of the print options to customize your print. Some options may be unavailable, depending on other settings you have chosen.
Expansion
If you selected a borderless paper size setting, this option adjusts the image expansion settings to control printing at the edges of borderless prints.
Grayscale
Prints text and graphics in black or shades of gray.
Mirror Image
Lets you flip the printed image horizontally.
Note: If you select the Min option for the Expansion setting, you may see white borders on your printed photo.

Note: If you do not see these settings in the print window, check for them in your application before
printing. They may be accessible by selecting Page Setup from the File menu.
1. Selectthe size of the paper you loaded as the Paper Size setting. If you are printing a borderless photo, select the Borderless checkbox or a paper size with a Borderless option. You can also select a custom setting to create a custom paper size.
Note: You must select a compatible borderless paper type and size to print without borders. Check the borderless paper compatibility list for details.
2. Selectthe orientation of your document or photo as shown in the print window.
Note: If you are printing an envelope, select the icon.
Note: You can reduce or enlarge the size of the printed image by selecting Paper Handling from the
pop-up menu and selecting a scaling option.
