Please take a few minutes to read this Operator’s manual so that you can become
acquainted with the proper usage and special features of your PELOUZE® DIGITAL SCALE.

GENERAL INFORMATION
MODEL PS2R1-P operates on one 9V Battery or 120V AC Adapter Output: 9V DC 100 mA - Pelouze Model
ADPT2.
• If using Battery: Battery compartment is located on underside of scale. Connect battery ±, accordingly.
• If using Adapter: First plug into rear of scale, then into wall outlet.
•Peel off protective plastic foil on display. Place scale on a vibration free, level surface.
• Adjustable letter holder stand slides onto platform. If stand is attached BEFORE the scale is turned on, the weight of the stand is automatically compensated.

• 1st Class Mail up to 13 oz*
•Priority Mail from 13 oz to 16 oz (For Priority Mail rates under 13 oz and from 16 oz to 32 oz, please consult your USPS zone chart and the mail chart on the scale platform).
• Express Mail up to 32 oz.
* A nonmachinable surcharge will apply to letters weighing under 1 oz that are smaller than 5"L x 3 1/2"H or larger than 11 1/2"L x 6 1/8"H. There are additional criteria that will cause your letter to incur the nonmachinable surcharge. Please consult your USPS Service Guide or www.usps.com for complete details.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Press ON (without weight on platform): Display will show “ ” then “2162” or current version code briefly and then “0.0” indicating ounce mode.
YOU CAN NOW WEIGH OBJECTS ON SCALE
Press ZERO TO RETURN DISPLAY TO 0.0 oz. BEFORE EACH WEIGHING AND BEFORE PLACING MATERIAL ON PLATFORM.
1. Choose oz or g mode by pressing the oz/g touch pad.
2. Place item to be weighed on the center of the platform. Caution should be taken not to exceed the total capacity of the scale. “ ” appearing in upper half of display indicates capacity has been exceeded.
3. The weight of the item will be displayed.
4. Press 1st/EXPRESS MAIL to calculate postage. The display will show “$” in the upper left corner, First Class Mail or Express Mail postage depending upon the desired rate mode and the “1st” or “EXP” mode indication at the bottom of the display. Use the 1st/EXPRESS MAIL key to toggle between the two service modes to compare rates. (Note: For items weighing over 13 oz and up to 16 oz, the 1st Class mode will calculate Priority Mail postage.)
5. If the item weighs over 16 oz and you select 1st Class, your scale will display “Err4”. Press oz/g to display the weight of the article to be mailed.
6. To determine Priority Mail postage for this item, you will need an Official National Zone Chart from the United States Postal Service (visit your local post office or their web site: http://postcalc.usps.gov/ zonecharts) to locate the correct Priority Mail zone. Using the zone and weight, locate the appropriate Priority Mail postage on the scale platform’s chart.
Press OFF to turn off Scale.
FEATURES
ZERO ADJUST (TARE): ZERO may be used to return Display to zero. ZERO is used to “tare” or offset
weight:
1. Place empty container on scale. Press ZERO.
2. Place material to be weighed in container. Display will show NET WEIGHT of material in container.
3. Press ZERO each time additional material is added to container. (Total not to exceed 32 oz capacity of scale).
4. “– – – – –” appearing in display indicates minus weight. Press ZERO to return display to zero.
NOTE: TO CLEAR ANY MODE, OR TO RETURN TO ZERO, REMOVE MATERIAL AND PRESS ZERO.
PIECE COUNT FEA TURE:
1. Without weight on platform, Press ZERO. Display will show “0.0” indicating ounce mode.
