Subject: Countermeasure for improving malfunctions upon recording a MD
and upon playing back particular DVD Audio disc.
Symptom: 1) When digitally recording a CD-DA on a MD, there is a case that
the Track number is not automatically incremented when switching a Track.
2) When playing back a DVD Audio (J. S. BACH: Works for Flute), the sound interruption occurs at G1, T1 0:03:38.
Solution:
customer's unit upon claim.
• When recording the file on the CD-R, the Format shall be "ISO9660", and the Session shall be "CLOSE".
• Modification Procedures:
1) Connect the Image Output Terminal of the VIDEO OUT or S-VIDEO OUT on the unit to a TV.
2) Turn on the Power of the unit, open the Loader and set the previously recorded CD-R for rewriting to the Loader.
3) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button.
4) The FL Display indicates "LOADING" and the Loader opens automatically upon completion of the rewriting operation. Take out the Disc from the Loader. During the rewriting operation, "ERASE" and "WRITE" appear repeatedly on the TV Screen, and "DONE" is indicated at last.
5) Turn off the Power of the unit once. While holding the "PLAY" and "OPEN/CLOSE" buttons down simultaneously, turn on the Power of the unit. When the " >|| " mark was indicated on the FL Display, press the "PUSH ENTER" button, so that the following Versions are indicated.

Caution during the Rewriting Operation:
• Please
do not turn off the Power of the unit during the rewriting operation!
• If the Power was interrupted during the operation, replacement of the Flash IC (IC102) may be required.
• When the Display does not turn into "DONE", while it is indicating "LOADING", wait for more than two minutes after closing the Loader and turn off the Power of the unit once. Then, turn on the Power of the unit and start the rewriting operation from the beginning again.
