Essential safety requirements
Only use the local air conditioner accor­ding to the instructions in this manual. These instructions do not cover ev ery possible condition and situation that could oc cu r. Common sense and prudence must always be followed during installation, operation and storage of any el ec trical appliance. This app li an ce was b ui lt for h ou se hold use and must not be us ed for other purposes.
FUNDAMENTAL SAFETY WARNINGS:
The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physi­cal, sensory or mental capabili­ties, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Do not s et heavy or hot objects on the appliance.
Since the appliance uses electricity, the following safety instructions must be fo l­lowed:
• Modifying or ch anging the characteri­stics of the appl ia nc e in any way is dan ­gerous.
• The appliance must b e installed accor­ding to n at io nal laws governing el ectri­cal sy stems.
• For any repairs, always consult the Tech ­nical Service Centres authorised b y the manufa ctu rin g compan y. Repa irs perform ed by incompetent individual s can be hazardous.
• This appliance must be earthed. Have the electri ca l system checked by a qua ­lified electrician.
• Avoid using extension cords.
• Bef ore any c leaning o r mainten ance operat ion , always unp lug fro m the mains.
• Do not pull on the electrical cord to move t he appliance.
• Do not install the appliance in areas
where the air may contain gas, oil or sulphur or near heat s ources.
If the power cable is dama-
ged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or the manufacturer’s Customer Ser­vices in order to avoid all risk.
• Do not operate y our LOCAL AIR CONDI­TIONERin a wet room su ch as a bath­room or laundry room.

This appliance can be used by children aged 8 upwards and by persons with reduced physical, sensor y or mental capabilities or who lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervi­sed or have been given instruc­tions concerning use of the applia nce in a safe way and understand the hazards invol­ved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cl eaning a nd user maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are older than 8 and super­vised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of chil­dren under 8 years of age.

• Clean the air filter at least once a week.
• When transporting, the appliance must be kept upright or resting on one side. Before transporting, drain all the water from the appliance. A ft er t ra nsporting, wait a t least one hour be fo re tur ning on the appliance.
• Do not cover the appliance with plastic bags when stored .
• The packaging mat er ials are recyclable. Please place them in the appropriate recycling collection c on tainers.
• At the end of its life, deliver the local air conditioner to the appropri at e collec­tion centres.

• The appliance must be placed in an area without any continuous sources of ignition (for example: open f lames, gas or e le ctrical applianc es i n operation).
• Do no t puncture and do not bur n.
• Refrigerant gases can be od ourless.
• The appliance must be installed, used and stored in an area that is greater than 15 m2.
• This appliance contains R290 refrigerant gas. (For more details on the refrigerant, see ba ck cover).
• R290 i s a refrigerant gas th at complies wi th the Eu rop ean d ire ctives o n t he environment. Do not puncture any part of t he refrigerant c ircuit.
• If the appliance is installed, operated or st ored in a non-v entilate d area, th e room must be designed to prevent the accumulation of refrigerant leaks resu l­ting in a risk of fire or e xp losion due to igni tion of the refrigerant ca used by electric heaters, stoves, or other sources of i gn ition.
• The appliance must be s tored in such a way as to prev en t mechanical failure.
• Individuals who op er ate or work on the refrigerant circuit must have the a ppro­priate certification i ss ue d by an accre­dited o rg an isation that ensures compe­tence in handling refrigerants according to a specific evaluation recognized by associations in the industry.
• Repairs must be per fo rmed based on the recommendations from the ma nu­facturing company. Maintenance and repairs that require the assistance of other qualified person­nel must be performed under the su pe r-
ision of an i nd iv id ual specified in the
v use of flammable refrigerants.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Before plugging the appliance into the mains socket, check that:
• The mains power supply corresponds to the value indicated on the rating plate on the back of the appliance;
• The mains socket and electrical circuit are adequate for the appliance;
• The mains socket matches the plug. If this is not the case, have the plug replaced;
• The mains socket is adequately earthed. Failure to follow these important safety instructions absolves the
manufacturer of all liability.
The power cable must be replaced by a qualified professional only.
The instructions below will enable you to prepare your local air conditioner for operation as efficien­tly as possible.
Before use, make sure the air intake and outlet grilles are unobstructed.
AIR-CONDITIONING WITHOUT INSTALLATION
Just a few simple steps and your comfort is ensured with your air conditioner:

• Open the window or French window sligh­tly and position the outlet as shown in figure C.

• Screw one of the hose adapters to one end of the air exhaust hose .
• Fit the other adapter to the air exhau­st hose housing at the back of the

appliance (see fig. A).
• Screw the end of the hose without adapter to the adapter previously mounted on the appliance (see fig. A).

• Fit the window outlet to the air exhaust hose as shown in fig. B.

• Place the local air conditioner near a win­dow or French window.
• Make sure the air exhaust hose is unob­structed.

If required, your appliance can also be instal­led semi-permanently (Fig. D).

Proceed as follows:
• Drill a hole (ø134mm) in an outside wall or through a window pane. Respect the height and dimensions of the hole given in figure E.
• Fit the wall flange accessory provi-

ded in the hole. Fit the air exhaust hose in the rele-
• vant hose located on the rear side of

the appliance (see fig. A).

When installing the permanently, you should leave a door slightly open (as little as 1 cm) to guarantee correct ventilation.
