DISASSEMBLY

CAUTION
The photos show a prototype. The appearance of the instrument, such as color, may

differ from the actual model. Toavoiddamagestotheinstrumentandtheoor,laytheinstrumentonamattressor

blanket before starting disassembling. There are several kinds of screws. Be sure to use the correct type of screws when
z
reassembling. It is advisable to sort the screws as shown below after removing them.
If a screw cap is attached to a screw, be sure to reattach the screw cap when
z
reassembling.
Before Starting Repair or Servicing
Remove the AC adaptor or the AC cord.
z
Remove accessories such as the music stand.
z
Remove the pedal unit plug from the pedal connector.

<Removing the keys>
To remove the keys, you will need two of the tools described below.

The tool used in the photos in this section was converted from a gardening ID tag. The size and shape of an ID tag accord to the dimensions below.
<Note on shaping an ID tag>
The thickness of the tool must be within 1.2 ~ 1.3 mm.

If the tool is too thick, it may damage the rib of the chassis.

direction of the red arrow in the illustration below, and then disengage the hammer.

<Installing the hammers>

Connect the FFC to the MACP-KYD1 PCB and lock the connector. (1) Be sure to connect it securely.

Install eight rubber keys. (2) Be sure to install the short rubber key at the correct location.
LightlyinsertthetipofarubberkeyintothePCBrst,andthen,pressitinusingthe
end of a paper clip. Do not press the rubber key forcefully to avoid damaging the rubber key.
Secure the MACP-KYC1 PCB, the KYC2 PCB, and the MACP-KYD1 PCB with 23 (3) screws. Press the PCBs lightly in the direction of the red arrow in the illustration below while tightening a screw.
