Camera Body Temperature
If your camera is used for prolonged periods, the camera body may become warm. Pleasebe aware of this and takecare when operating the camera for an extended period.
About theLCD Monitor
The LCD monitor is produced with extremely high-precision manufacturing techniques.More than 99.99% of the pixelsoperate tospecification. Less than 0.01% of the pixels may occasionally misfire or appear as red or black dots. This has no effect on the recorded image and does not constitute a malfunction.

zDisconnect the battery charger and compact poweradapter

Others
zDo not trigger the flash in close proximity tohumanor
animaleyes. Exposure tothe intense light produced bythe flash may damageeyesight.
Inparticular, remain at leastone meter (39 inches) away frominfants when using the flash.
zKeep objects that are sensitive tomagnetic fields (such as
credit cards) away from the speaker of the camera (PowerShot A430 only).
Such items maylose dataor stop working.

zEnsure that the battery charger is plugged intoa power
outletof the specifiedrating, not over the specified rating.Do not use ifthe powercord or plug aredamaged, or ifnotfully plugged into theoutlet.
zDo not use in locations with poorventilation.
The above-mentioned can cause leakage,overheating or explosion,resulting in fire, burns or otherinjuries.High temperatures may also cause deformation of the casing.
zWhen not using thecamerafor extended periods oftime,
remove the battery from the camera or battery charger andstore the equipment ina safe place.
Storing the camera for extended periods with batteries installed willcause battery leakage and damage the camera.
Flash
zDo notoperate the flash withdirt, dust orother items stuck
to the surface ofthe flash.
zBe careful not tocover the flashwithyour fingers or
clothing when shooting.
The flash may be damaged and emit smoke or noise. Theresulting heat build-up could damage the flash.
zDo not touch thesurface of the flash after takingseveral
pictures in rapidsuccession.
Doing so could result in burns.

Preventing Malfunctions
Avoid Strong Magnetic Fields
zNever place the camera in close proximity to electric motors
Exposure to strong magneticfieldsmay cause malfunctions orcorrupt image data.
Avoid Condensation Related Problems
zWhenmoving the equipment rapidly between hot and cold
temperatures, you canavoid condensation by placing the equipment in an airtight, resealableplastic bag and letting itadjust to temperature changes slowly before removingitfrom thebag.
Moving the equipment rapidly between hot and cold temperatures may cause condensation (water droplets) toform on its external and internal surfaces.
If Condensation Forms Inside the Camera
zStop using the camera immediately.
Continued use may damage the equipment.Remove the memory card and battery or compact power adapterfrom the camera and wait until the moisture evaporates completely before resuming use.

When shooting indark conditions, the camera automaticallybrightens the LCD monitor tosuit the brightness of the subject*,making it easier to frame the subject.
*The movements of the subject will appear irregular in the LCD monitor. The
recorded image, however, will not be affected. The brightness of the imagedisplayed inthe monitor, and the brightness of the actual image recorded will be different.
