This document provides information about the Avaya 1200 Series Expansion Module — 18 Keys Display for the Avaya 1200 Series IP Deskphones.
The Avaya 1200 Series Expansion Module —18 Keys Display is a hardware accessory that connects to the IP Deskphone and provides 18 additional line keys and feature keys. You can place the IP Deskphone and Avaya 1200 Series Expansion Module —18 Keys Display on your desktop or you can wall-mount the IP Deskphone and Avaya 1200 Series Expansion Module —18 Keys Display.
The Avaya 1200 Series IP Deskphones supports up to two Avaya 1200 Series Expansion Module —18 Keys Display. The Avaya 1200 Series Expansion Module —18 Keys Display are supported on the following phones:
Avaya 1220 IP Deskphone
Avaya 1230 IP Deskphone
The following figure shows the Avaya 1200 Series Expansion Module —18 Keys Display. The paper insert allows you to create your own label for each key. You can also use the Desktop Assistant Pro application with this expansion module.

About your user-defined feature keys
Your system administrator assigns the user-defined feature keys as line, intercom, or memory keys. For more information about how keys are assigned, see your system administrator.
Line and intercom keys
Your system administrator assigns line and intercom keys. Line keys are assigned to an external line, and intercom keys are assigned to internal lines.
Memory keys
Memory keys are keys that are not assigned as line or intercom keys. Memory keys store internal and external phone numbers or features to give you one-touch dialing or feature activation. You can program a memory key with a new phone number or feature.
Programming external autodial
1 Press the Feature key.
2Enter *1.
3 Press a memory key. 4 Dial the external number. 5 Press OK to store the number.
Programming internal autodial
1 Press the Feature key.
2Enter *2.
3 Press a memory key. 4 Dial the extension number. 5 Press OK to store the extension number.
Programming features
1 Press the Feature key.
2Enter *3.
3 Press a memory key. 4 Press the Feature key. 5 Enter the feature code. 6 Press OK to store the feature code.
Erasing memory keys
1 Press the Feature key.
2Enter *1.
3 Press a memory key. 4 Press OK to erase the phone number or feature code programmed on the key.
