The 3Com Switch 4500G family of fully managed, Gigabit Ethernet
switches provides secure, flexible LAN connectivity for small to medium
enterprise and branch office networks. The Switch 4500G Family offers
Layer 2 switching and dynamic Layer 3 (RIP) routing, as well as robust
security, Quality of Service, and management features to deliver intelligent edge connectivity for essential business applications.

Cost Effective
Delivering Power over Ethernet means
electricity and data are provided over a single Ethernet cable, resulting
in significant cost savings when deploying devices such as IP phones,
wireless access points and IP security cameras.
Scalable Switching Solution
Flexible in design, the switches have dual-personality Gigabit
Ethernet interfaces for copper or fiber connections. Manage clusters
of 3Com Enterprise switches together as a single entity with a single
IP address — Switch 4500G units together with other fully managed
3Com devices including Fast Ethernet models.
Available 10-Gigabit Connections
These switches also accommodate up to four extra optional 10-Gigabit
highest-speed links, enabling connectivity to a core network or to
high-performance servers.
3Com Baseline Plus Switch 2900 Family
The voice-ready 3Com Baseline Plus Switch 2900 Family are webmanaged Gigabit switches that deliver enterprise-class features,
customized and priced for small- and mid-sized organizations. With
an easy-to-use switch interface, advanced features (VLANs, Access
Control Lists, IEEE 802.1X authentication and Rapid Spanning Tree),
20, 28 or 48 10/100/1000 ports, and available PoE support, these
switches are a cost-effective way to provide a converged network.
Traffic Prioritization and Auto-Voice VLAN
Traffic prioritization and automatic assignment of VoIP traffic to
dedicated VLANs help ensure that critical time-sensitive traffic gets
the priority needed for quality communications.
Power over Ethernet
Baseline Plus Switch 2900 PWR models provide inline power to
attached devices—access points, Voice over IP (VoIP) phones, IP security
cameras, etc.—via industry-standard IEEE 802.3af PoE over a single
Ethernet cable, resulting in significant deployment cost savings.
No Switch Setup Required
These switches are operational straight out-of-the-box; as long as
default settings are acceptable, there is no need to configure the
switch. If desired, the switches can be configured using a web
browser or SNMP management software, and are fully supported
when using 3Com Network Supervisor and Network Director.
Enhanced Browser-Based User Interface
Easy-to-use interface allows even the most novice users to configure
the switch during initial setup and monitor it during normal operation.
Front-panel console port allows easy management using CLI.

The SecBlade Advanced VPN Firewall for the 3Com Switch 8800 and Switch 7900E modular LAN platforms delivers advanced threat protection
for the network core—helping prevent business disruptions, revenue loss and damage to an organization’s reputation caused by security breaches.
Built on the latest state-of-the-art multi-core CPU platform, this firewall module enables advanced network protection at multi-Gigabit speeds. It combines
built-in protection against denial of service and hacking attacks with virtual private network (VPN) support, zonal and virtual stateful packet inspection firewall,
application bandwidth management, audio/video IP multicast routing, peer-to-peer traffic control and email attachment filtering. With these advanced security
capabilities built on top of the same operating system that powers all 3Com enterprise switching and routing platforms, a rich networking feature set with ease
of integration and lowest total cost of ownership is assured.
