POWER

Press to turn the washer on and off. Press to stop/cancel a cycle at any time.

NOTE: When the washer is turned on for the rst time after being plugged in or after a power outage, please allow a minute or so for the washer display to start up.

START/PAUSE

Press and hold to start a cycle, or press once while a cycle is in process to pause it.

PRECISION DISPENSE

This button is used to adjust the dispenser settings, including adjustments for detergent concentration and water hardness level.

IMPORTANT: When using the dispenser cartridge with concentrated liquid detergent, be sure to change the detergent concentration settings in the control if the detergent used is different than factory preset of 2x concentration.

COLOR LCD DISPLAY SCREEN

This screen will display current options and settings, cycle information, and estimated time remaining. You can also use the navigation buttons below and on either side of the screen to access helpful laundry and troubleshooting tips, as well as other information.

SYSTEM SETTINGS

The System Settings button allows you to adjust the LCD display settings, including brightness and other preferences. Under System Settings, you can access the following functions:

Remote Start (model WFL98 only) Allows you to start your washer remotely using the Smartappliances app.

Control Lock Allows you to disable all controls except the power button to avoid unauthorized use or changes to running cycles.

End of Cycle Adjusts the volume of the End of Cycle signal, or turns it off.

Button Sound Adjusts the volume of the button sounds, or turns them off.

Brightness Adjusts the brightness of the LCD screen.

Language Displays information in English, French, or Spanish.

Themes Select between two different display color and background themes.

LCD CONTROLS

Use these buttons to select options displayed in the LCD screen, and to navigate through options.

BACK

Press the BACK button to go back to the previous screen without accepting any changes made on the current screen. Press and hold for 1 second to return to the start-up screen for the selected cycle.

MORE INFO

Press to get more information on a setting or option. Press MORE INFO again to return to the previous screen.

SELECTION BUTTONS

ECOBOOST™ option

Press to activate the EcoBoost™ option. The EcoBoost™ option provides additional energy savings through reduced hot water usage and maintains cleaning performance by lengthening the wash time on some cycles.

WASH CYCLE KNOB

Use your Wash Cycle Knob to select available cycles on your washer. Turn the knob to select a cycle for your laundry load. See “Cycle Guide” for detailed descriptions of cycles.

FANFRESH® option

With the washer on, press to activate the FanFresh® option. This will periodically tumble the load after the end of the cycle for up to 16 hours while the integrated fan circulates air through the washer to reduce humidity.

When to use FanFresh® option:

n When you can’t remove the load from the washer right

away to help avoid musty odor buildup.

n Combined with the Quick Wash cycle, you can wash

and dry a small load of many common lightweight items overnight to save time and energy.

NOTES:

The door will lock while the FanFresh® option is active. Press the POWER button to stop the cycle and unlock the door.

FanFresh® option is not available if the spin speed is set to No Spin.

PRECISION DISPENSE ULTRA DRAWER

The Precision Dispense Ultra drawer gives you the convenience of automatically adding HE detergent, liquid chlorine bleach, and fabric softener to the wash load at the proper time. See “Using the Dispenser” for information on using the dispenser drawer.

Precision Dispense Ultra Cartridge

Each dispenser cartridge holds up to 18.5 oz. (550 ml) of liquid HE detergent, enough for up to

loads, depending on cycle and detergent concentration. The cartridge ts into compartment B of the dispenser drawer for convenient loading.

Change detergent concentration setting if detergent used is different than factory preset of 2x concentration.

Change water hardness setting if desired level is different than factory preset of Normal.

Powdered High Efciency “HE” detergent compartment

This compartment holds powdered HE detergent for a single load.

Liquid fabric softener compartment

Automatically dilutes and dispenses liquid fabric softener at the optimum time in the cycle.

Use only liquid fabric softener in this dispenser.

Liquid chlorine bleach compartment

Automatically dilutes and dispenses liquid chlorine bleach at the optimum time during the rst rinse after the wash cycle. This compartment cannot dilute powdered bleach.

Choosing the Right Detergent

Use only High Efciency detergents. The package will be marked “HE” or “High Efciency.” Low-water washing creates excessive sudsing with a regular non-HE detergent. Using regular detergent will likely result in longer cycle times and reduced rinsing performance. It may also result in component failure and, over time, buildup of mold or mildew. HE detergents are made to produce the right amount of suds for the best performance. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to determine the amount of detergent to use.

The number of loads will vary, depending on detergent concentration, load size, cycle used, and soil level. The maximum capacity of up to 36 loads requires use of 6x concentration detergent.

USING THE PRECISION DISPENSE DISPENSER

To use the dispenser drawer:

1. Open the dispenser drawer.

2. Add laundry products as described in steps 4–6.

Use only HE High Efciency liquid detergents. The dispenser cartridge will hold about 18.5 oz. (550 ml) of HE liquid detergent, or enough for up to 36 loads†.

To Fill:

Pull back on the tab and lift the ll door. Fill to the “MAX” line with HE liquid detergent. Close ll door. It will click into place.

To Install the Dispenser Cartridge:

1. Pull out the dispenser drawer.

2. Insert the dispenser cartridge completely in detergent

compartment as shown. It should click into position.

3. Slowly slide the dispenser drawer in until it is completely

closed. The washer will automatically detect the dispenser cartridge.

4. Adjust the detergent concentration and water hardness

settings, if needed. Default settings are 2x detergent concentration and normal water hardness. If the detergent concentration is not listed on the package, see “About Detergent Concentration” to calculate the concentration.

To Adjust Dispenser Settings:

1. Press PRECISION DISPENSE.

2. Select the desired settings using the

LCD control buttons.

NOTE: The dispenser cartridge should be rinsed out when changing detergents or when the washer will not be used for extended periods. For instructions on cleaning the dispenser cartridge, see “Washer Maintenance”.

Add directly to the compartment.

IMPORTANT:

n Do not use liquid detergents in the single-load

compartment; liquid detergents may seep out of the detergent compartment before the main wash begins.

n Do not add single-dose laundry packet to dispenser

drawer.

n If you are using the Delay Wash option, use of the

dispenser cartridge is recommended, or powdered detergent may be used in the HE powdered detergent compartment.

Liquid HE detergent

If you frequently alternate between two different liquid HE detergents, you may purchase an additional Precision Dispense Ultra cartridge, part number W10250743A.

For best performance, not all settings are available with each cycle, and some options cannot be used together.

Load Size Recommendations

For best results, follow the load size recommendations noted for each cycle. For cycles without a load size recommendation, follow on-screen instructions or see the Cycle Details.

Small load: Fill the washer drum with 3-4 items, not more than 1/4 full.

Medium load: Fill the washer drum up to about 1/2 full.

Large load: Fill the washer drum up to about 3/4 full.

Extra-large load: Fill the washer drum, but make sure clothes can tumble freely.

For best results, avoid packing tightly.

USING YOUR WASHER

First wash cycle without laundry

Before washing clothes for the rst time, ll the HE liquid dispenser cartridge and install in the dispenser drawer. Choose the QUICK WASH cycle and run it without clothes. Use only HE detergent. This initial cycle serves to ensure the interior is clean and the dispenser drawer is ready for use before washing clothes.

2. Add laundry products (if desired)

1. Sort and prepare your laundry

Sort items by recommended cycle, water temperature, and colorfastness. Separate heavily soiled items from lightly soiled. Separate delicate items from sturdy fabrics. Treat stains promptly and check for colorfastness by testing stain remover products on an inside seam.

IMPORTANT:

n Empty pockets. Loose change, buttons, or any small object

can plug pumps and may require a service call.

n Close zippers, fasten hooks, tie strings and sashes, and

remove non-washable trim and ornaments.

n Mend rips and tears to avoid further damage to items

during washing.

n Turn knits inside out to prevent pilling. Separate lint-takers

from lint-givers. Synthetics, knits, and corduroy fabrics will pick up lint from towels, rugs, and chenille fabrics.

n Do not dry garments if stains remain after washing, because

heat can set stains into fabric.

n Always read and follow fabric care labels and laundry

product instructions. Improper usage may cause damage to your garments.

Single-dose laundry packet, Oxi-type boosters, color-safe bleach, or fabric softener crystals can be added to the drum prior to adding laundry.

NOTE: Do not add clothes to washer drum prior to adding laundry products. Always follow manufacturer’s instructions.

3. Load laundry into washer

Open the washer door. If desired, add single-dose laundry packet, Oxi product, or color-safe bleach to the washer drum before loading clothes. Place a load of sorted clothes loosely in the washer. Items need to move freely for best cleaning and to reduce wrinkling and tangling. Close the washer door by pushing it rmly until the latch clicks.

n Depending on load type and cycle, the washer can be fully

loaded, but not tightly packed. Washer door should close easily. See “Cycle Guide” for loading suggestions.

n Mix large and small items and avoid washing single items.

Load evenly.

n Wash small items in mesh garment bags. For multiple items,

use more than one bag and ll bags equally.

NOTE: Do not add single-dose laundry packets, Oxi-type boosters, or color-safe bleach to dispensers. They will not dispense correctly.

5. Add fabric softener to dispenser

Pour a measured amount of liquid fabric softener into liquid fabric softener compartment. Always follow manufacturer’s directions for correct amount of fabric softener based on your load size.

Fabric softener is always dispensed in the last rinse, even if Extra Rinse is selected.

IMPORTANT: Do not overll, dilute, or use more than 1/4 cup (60 mL) of fabric softener. Do not ll past the MAX line. Overlling dispenser will cause fabric softener to immediately dispense into washer.

Do not spill or drip any fabric softener onto the clothes.

Do not use liquid fabric softener dispenser balls in this washer. They will not dispense correctly.

Liquid chlorine

Add liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment. Do not overll, dilute, or use more than 2/3 cup (165 mL). Do not use color-safe bleach or Oxi in the same cycle with liquid chlorine bleach.

Always measure liquid chlorine bleach. Use a measuring cup with a pour spout; do not guess.

Do not ll beyond the “MAX” level. Overlling could cause garment damage.

Add single-dose laundry packet, Oxi product, or color-safe bleach to the washer drum before loading the clothes. Do not add products to dispensers.

7. Press POWER to turn on washer

Slowly close the Precision Dispense drawer. Make sure the drawer is closed completely, then press POWER to turn on the washer.

8. Select CYCLE

Turn cycle knob to choose your wash cycle. The cycle name and options will appear in the display.

See “Cycle Guide” for details on cycle features, or press More Info. Not all options and settings are available on all cycles.

When selecting My Cycle or Specialty Cycles, refer to the LCD display for additional options and settings. For more information on using My Cycle and Specialty Cycles, see “My Cycle and Specialty Cycles”.

11. Setting a delayed start

The display will show the default settings for the selected cycle. If desired, press the button beneath each setting to adjust the Temperature, Soil Level, and Spin Speed, and to add options such as an additional Rinse. Use the

keys to page to additional options. For more information on a cycle, press MORE INFO.

NOTE: Not all settings are available on all cycles. See “Cycle Guide” for available settings.

10. Select any additional options

(options vary by model)

Press the FanFresh®, Smart Grid, or EcoBoost™ button to add these options to the selected cycle.

If the FanFresh automatically activate the vent fan and tumble the load periodically for up to 16 hours. This is useful if you are unable to remove a load immediately after the cycle has nished.

The EcoBoost through reduced hot water usage and maintains cleaning performance by lengthening the wash time on some cycles.

NOTE:

n Not all options and settings are available with all cycles,

and not all features and cycles are available on all models.

n On model WFL98 only, see the “Smart Feature Sheet”

for information about setting up Smart functionality, turning it on and off, receiving important notications, and taking advantage of available features.

If you do not want to begin a cycle immediately, you may choose the DELAY START option. This will delay the start of the wash cycle by up to 20 hours.

To set a delayed start:

Select the Delay Start option using the LCD control buttons.

Use the buttons to adjust the delay time up or down.

Press START/PAUSE to set the delay. The delay countdown

has started when the START/PAUSE light stops blinking.

IMPORTANT: If you are using the Delay Wash option, use of the dispenser cartridge is recommended, or powdered detergent may be used in the HE powdered detergent compartment.

Remote Start allows you to start your washer remotely using the Smartappliances app. Make this selection last using the System Settings button and the LCD control button. Make sure that your washer remains closed and the cycle is not adjusted until you start the cycle.

Select the desired cycle and features.

3. Press the LCD control button for Remote Start.

4. Press the LCD control button for the desired setting.

5. Make sure the washer remains on. If the washer is turned

off, the Remote Start feature will turn off.
