STEP 1 Connect power to telephone base and
chargers then connect telephone line
to telephone base
Plug the connector into the power jack at the bottom
of the telephone base and chargers then plug the
power adapter into an electrical outlet not controlled
by a wall switch.
Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the
telephone line jack at the b ottom of the telephone
base. Then plug the other end of the cord into the
modular wall tele phone outlet .

STEP 2 Install the battery
• Alig n the two holes in the plug with the so cket
pins matching the color-co ded label in t he bat tery
compar tment of t he handset, then snap the plug
securely into place.
• Place the battery in the compartment with the wires
in the upper right corner.
• Position the batter y compar tment cover and slide it
towards the unit until it clicks into place.
• For optima l per formance, we rec ommend that you
charge the hand set for 16 hours. Note that the new
battery may have eno ugh charge for s ome calls.
STEP 3 Make, receive, and end calls
Make a call
• Press /FLASH or /SPEAKER to ensure there
is a dial tone, then dial the telepho ne number.

For predialing:
• Dial the number ( press
MUTE/ REMOVE or
OFF/ CLE AR to bac ks pac e, or pres s and hold
REDIAL /PAUSE to inser t a pause).
Press /FLASH or /SPEAKER if you want to
use the speaker phone funct ion.
Receive a call
• Press
/FLASH or /SPEAKER or any dialing
keys (0-9, #, *) if you want to use the speakerphone
function.
End a call
• Pres s
OFF /CL EA R, or put the hand set in th e
telephone bas e or charger.

STEP 4 Set the answering system clock
Press CLOCK to listen to the current clock setting.
Press CLOCK again to change the settings.
Press /SK IP or /REPEAT to change the year,
hour, minute, or date.
When the correct setting is announced, press CLOCK
to advance to the nex t setting.

STEP 5 Turn the answering system on and off
The answering system must be turned on to function.
If the answering system is turne d off, the telephone
base light will b e off.
To turn on/off the answering system:
• Press
ANS ON/OFF to choose between on and
off.
STEP 6 Record outgoing announcement
(optional)

” To replace the default announcement:

“Announcement, press PLAY or press RECO RD.”

when you are done.”
• After the tone, speak towards the microphone at the
front right of the telephone base from about nine
inches away.
• Pre ss
/PL AY/S TO P when fini sh ed and the
answering system will automatically pl ayback the
newly record ed announce ment.
STEP 7 Charge the battery
The battery may have enough charge for a short
call. For best performance, charge the battery for at
least 16 hours.
To charge the handset, place it in the telephone
base or charger.
The CHARGE light on the telephone base or
charger will be on when the handset is properly
positioned. See Troubleshooting in the user’s
manual if the CHARGE light is not on.
For installation and use of the belt clip and the wall
mount bracket, please consult the user’s manual.

PASO 1 Conecte el suministro eléctrico a la

Enchufe un extremo del cable de la línea telefónica
en la c onexió n de la línea t elefón ica en la parte
posterior de la base del teléfono. Después enchufe el
otro extremo de este cable en el contacto del teléfono
modular de la pared.

PASO 2 Cómo instalar la pila
• Alinee los dos oricios en el tomacorriente con las
puntas del enchufe equivalentes con la etiqueta con
los códigos de colores en el compartimiento de la
pila del auricular, después conecte con rmeza el
enchufe en su sitio.
• Coloque la pila en el compartimiento con los cables
en la esquina superior derecha.
• Coloque la cubierta del compartimiento de la pila en
su lugar y deslícela con rmeza hacia la unidad hasta
que quede en su sitio.
• Para obtener el mejor rendimiento, le recomendamos
que cargue el auricular durante 16 horas. Es posible
que la pila nueva tenga suciente energía para hacer
unas llamadas.
PASO 3 Cómo hacer, recibir y terminar llamadas
Cómo hacer una llamada
• Oprima /FLASH o /SPEAKER para escuchar
el tono de mar cado, después marque el número de
teléfono.

Marque el número (oprima MUTE/REM OVE o OFF/
CLEAR para retr oceder, u oprima continuamente
REDIAL /PAUSE para po ner una pausa.
Oprima /FL ASH o /SPEAKER si desea usar
la función del altavoz.
Cómo recib ir una llamada
• Oprima

de las teclas d e marcado (0-9, #, *) si de sea usar

PASO 4 Cómo congurar el reloj del sistema
para contestar llamadas
Oprima CLOCK para escuchar la conguraci ón
actual del reloj.

Oprima /SKIP o /REPEAT para cambiar el año,
hora, minuto, o fec ha.
Cuando escuche la conguración correcta, oprima

para contestar llamadas

PASO 6 Cómo grabar un anuncio saliente
(opcional)
El teléfo no está pre-pr ogr ama do con el anunc io
“Hello. Please leave a message after the tone” (Hola.
Por favor deje un mensaje después del tono). Para
cambiar el anun cio congur ado:
• Oprima
ANNC y el sistema anuncia “Announcement,
press PLAY or press RECO RD” (Anuncio, oprim a
PLAY u oprima RECORD).
• Oprima
RECORD para grabar, y el sistema anuncia
“Record after the tone. Press STOP w hen you are
done ” (Grabe después del tono. Oprima STOP
cuando termin e).
• Después del tono, hable hacia el micrófono al frente
derecho de la base del teléfono desde una distancia
de nueve pulgadas.

PASO 7 Cómo cargar la pila
La pila podría tener suciente energía para
hacer una llamada corta. Para obtener un mejor
rendimiento, cargue la pila durante por lo menos 16
horas.
Para cargar el auricular, colóquelo en la base del
teléfono o en el cargador.
La luz de CHARGE (carga) en la base del teléfono
o en el cargador estará encendida cuando el
auricular esté colocado apropiadamente. Consulte
la sección de Solución de problemas en el manual
de instrucciones si la luz de CHARGE no está
encendida.
Para instalar y usar el soporte para cinturón y el
